This assignment will assist Park Rangers with clearing vegitation and helping protect loal wildlife habitats.

Summary:

Employees receive moderate supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures and may be assigned to work in different areas throughout the District, including grounds, custodial and open space.

Must be available to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays. Positions are part-time and schedules are made based on the needs of the assigned units of Grounds, Maintenance or Park Rangers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support daily upkeep and cleanliness of parks, public areas, and facilities

• Use hand and power tools for light landscaping work including pruning, weeding, and planting
• Prepare open space, athletic fields or recreational spaces for public use
• Assist with basic irrigation and sprinkler maintenance
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old

Education and Experience:

Graduation from high school or equivalent; maintenance/construction or landscape experience preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:

• Valid California Driver License with satisfactory driving record
• Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment functional capacity examination
• Department of Justice fingerprint clearance

Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to park visitors and to other employees.

Math Ability:
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to use common-sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Public Works Program Manager leads and supports a team of engineering and technical staff while overseeing the Engineering Division within the Public Works Agency. Glenn County is seeking an Extra Help Employee - Personnel Analyst I; this position will perform a wide variety of technical, and/or paraprofessional personnel assignments in the development, implementation and maintenance of the County personnel program; This position will independently perform special projects and assignments of a secretarial, technical, and/or paraprofessional nature. Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist patrons and prospective participants on the phone and in-person
• Assist permit groups with set-up and breakdown of tables, chairs, and other equipment
• Promptly open and unlock facilities or close and secure facilities as scheduled
• Complete facility condition forms following permit group use and incident reports as needed
• Notify management concerning need for major repairs or additions
• Turn athletic field lights off and on for sports groups
• Sell and scan admission tickets special events and/or theater performances

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sweep floors, vacuum carpets, and dust or polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Wash windows, clean restrooms, replenish supplies, and sanitize high touch areas often
• Empty waste receptacles and remove any trash or debris found throughout facility
• May assist with conducting recreation classes

Minimum Qualifications:

Summer Day Camps

Looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference and having fun outdoors! If entering your senior year of high school, are in college or beyond, this could be a perfect fit. Our five all-day summer camps run from June 15 to August 14, with staff training beginning June 8. Serving children ages 4-12 at multiple locations, these positions serve as role models to youth campers throughout the Conejo Valley, leading arts and crafts, recreation games, swimming, hiking and more!

• Assist in the development and implementation of social media strategies and campaigns
• Assist in the administration and maintenance of the District’s website
• Compile and maintain distribution lists for mailings and electronic communications
• Solicit feedback from participants and visitors through online surveys and distribute relevant response data to staff in the District units

• Support staff in District Units in the development of news releases, special event flyers/brochures, community announcements, project-based communications, or other communication methods

Share your passion by teaching students! Enrichment instructors lead a one hour class on-site after school. Enjoy the freedom to plan a curriculum on your area of expertise and share that knowledge with a class size of 5-15 students.

DEFINITION: Plan, organize and execute personal curriculum for elementary age children for a one hour onsite outdoor enrichment program. Program hours could include Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2pm – 4pm and Wednesday 1:15pm – 3:15pm, preparation hours can be discussed.
