The City of Lincoln is accepting applications for the position of Refuse Truck Driver II in the Solid Waste division of the Public Works department. Under general supervision, this position performs the full array of duties in the Solid Waste division, including maintenance, operating collection vehicles and refuse equipment operation. This job classification is represented by the Classified, Local 39 employee group; the probation period is 12 months.

Open positions may be filled as regular/full-time or seasonal/part-time.  Seasonal positions are limited to 999 hours per fiscal year and are unbenefited, and may become regular/full-time positions, dependent upon the future needs of the department.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The Refuse Truck Driver II is the journey-level class responsible for a wide variety of maintenance and refuse collection tasks. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Senior Refuse Truck Driver in that the latter performs the more complex assignments and lead responsibilities. 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED

This position receives general supervision from the Solid Waste division’s Public Services Supervisor. May exercise technical and functional supervision over assigned staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Include but are not limited to the following:

• Performs general maintenance, repair, construction, equipment operation and installation work in refuse collection.
• Operates a variety of collection vehicles and equipment including front, rear and side loaders in the collection and transportation of residential and commercial refuse; drives to landfill site when vehicle is full and unloads material; evaluates and updates assigned routes; cleans, maintains and inspects assigned vehicles; maintains daily logs.
• Demonstrates a full understanding of applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties; may provide training to lower level staff; responds to questions and concerns from the general public; provides information as is appropriate and resolves public service complaints.
• Establishes positive working relationships with representatives of community organizations, state/local agencies, City management and staff, and the public.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. The position also requires both near and far vision when inspecting work and operating assigned equipment. The need to lift, carry and push tools, equipment and supplies weighing 25 pounds or more is also required. Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions including wet, hot and cold. The incumbent may use cleaning and lubricating chemicals, pesticides or herbicides which may expose the employee to fumes, dust and air contaminants. The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to climb ladders, use power and noise producing tools and equipment, operate hydraulic aerial devices, drive motorized vehicles and heavy equipment, work in heavy vehicle traffic conditions and often work with constant interruptions.

San Mateo County Health- San Mateo Medical Center seeks well-qualified candidates for the position of Program Coordinator I in the Patient Access Division. The current vacancy is a full-time, limited term vacancy. The duration of the assignment will last about 6 months.

 

Under the direction of the Patient Access Manager, the Program Coordinator will provide support to over 150 Patient Services Assistants across various departments, including Emergency, Admitting, Long-Term Care, Same-Day Surgery, and will average 27 Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) sites with 8-16 hours of weekly program refresher training on several publicly sponsored coverage options.

 

Additionally, this position will assist the team with several EPIC post-go-live projects, and work queues as we work to revamp processes and enhance collaboration for improved workflows and revenue-generating process efficiencies.

San Mateo County Health's Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Division (BHRS) is seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of Occupational Therapist II - Therapeutic Day Schools.

The mental health Occupational Therapy within the Therapeutic Day Schools (TDS) program assists youth in acquiring skills needed to function in their life roles of student and worker. As the students in the TDS program progress toward graduation they are then linked with the Department of Rehabilitation for assessment and counseling for future placement. The Occupational Therapist also provides treatment through the use of arts and crafts activities. The focus of this "activity" based treatment is the development of pre-vocational skills: pro-social and task skills.

Occupation Therapy services in the TDS unit are provided in two general areas: direct and indirect services. These services function to prepare the young person for the roles of a student, performance of age-appropriate daily living behaviors and ultimately the transition to worker, college student, or vocational training.

The Occupational Therapy program addresses: independent living skills, pre-vocational skills, socialization skills, recreation and leisure activities, and transition activities as outlined in the students Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

The Therapeutic Day School unit is comprised of two separate school programs serving high school aged special education students in the Jefferson High School District, and South San Francisco Unified School District. Each TDS program is a collaboration between that designated high school district. TDS students are certified special education students who have been evaluated and determined in need of intensive mental health services in order to benefit from their education. The core staff is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team including both mental health and educational staff. The TDS program works in close collaboration with outside service providers such as probation, social services, education, Wrap- Around service providers and other mental health contract agencies.

The Therapeutic Day School BHRS Staff include a Clinical Services Manager (1), Supervising Mental Health Clinician (1), Psychiatric Social Workers / Marriage and Family Therapists (2), Creative Arts Therapist (1), Occupational Therapist (1), Psychiatrist (1) and Medical Office Assistant (1). District special education staff include the Special Education Director (1), Program Specialist (1), Special Education Teacher (1 or 2), and Teaching Associates (1 or 2).

The ideal candidates will have:

• Experience working with adolescents in a mental health setting
• Experience working on a multidisciplinary team
• Experience working with special education students and participating in the IEP process
• Familiarity with normal adolescent development
• Familiarity with psychiatric disorders as defined in the DSM V manual

Responsibilities will include:

• Assessment and development of a treatment plan that links to the BHRS client treatment plan.
• Coordinating and implementing the TDS program's Occupational Therapy program, including group treatment, individual treatment, linkage to various agencies, and consultation to staff and families.
• Continual evaluation of youth capacities and deficits, and the students' response to treatment including the measurement of change and development.
• Conduct assessments, share findings and make appropriate recommendations.
• Collaborate and coordinate with the multi-disciplinary team which includes special education staff and mental health staff in order to provide comprehensive treatment to youth in the TDS program.
• Participate in milieu therapy and enforce the behavior management system.
• Provide consultation and support to families and staff as needed.
• Provide education and training to staff as needed.
• Liaison with community agencies to assess, implement or coordinate services.
• Work closely with district vocational support staff to assist students in transitioning to the role of worker.
• Participate in Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings by completing and monitoring progress of the Individualized Transition Plan (ITP).

• Occupational Therapist II: One year of supervised experience in occupational therapy.

 Licensure/Certification:

San Mateo County Health's Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Division is seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of Supervising Mental Health Clinician - Adult and Youth Services. Supervising Mental Health Clinicians supervise and coordinate the professional work of mental health professionals, paraprofessionals and interns in San Mateo County and participate in program planning, administration and evaluation; and provide specialized psychiatric casework counseling and therapeutic services to adults and youth in the field.
 
The current vacancy is in Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) Crisis and Outreach Team including the Psychiatric Emergency Response Team, the Crisis Response Team (CRT), Healthcare for the Homeless (HCH), Homeless Engagement Assessment Linkage (HEAL) team, and the law enforcement, mental health partnership within multiple cities in the County.

Supervising Mental Health Clinicians are members of the Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Leadership Team and work with collaborative partners on system wide initiatives focused on improving services and service delivery. This position reports directly to a Clinical Services Manager.
 
The Supervising Clinician oversees daily operations and directs a multidisciplinary team providing recovery-based behavioral health services, outreach and linkage for BHRS' crisis and outreach teams. Services provided include: supervising mobile clinicians who are working in tandem with city law enforcement at behavioral health crises and/or with homeless outreach programs throughout the County, supervise the program specialist for the Crisis and Outreach Team, and conduct trainings and presentations to law enforcement and the community.
 
The teams include psychiatrists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, law enforcement officers and community workers who are consumers or family members. The clinical teams may also work with clinical interns.  
 
The ideal candidate will possess:

• Knowledge of system of care principles.
• Knowledge of program management techniques and practices.
• Knowledge of crisis de-escalation, crisis evaluation, 5150-hold application, and community crisis response.
• Knowledge of crisis continuum of care.
• Strong supervisory/leadership skills, which demonstrate an ability to direct and motivate a multi-disciplinary team some of whom will be mobile and in disparate parts of the County.
• The ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with consumers, families, professionals, law enforcement, Psychiatric Emergency Services, SMART Medics and the public; including close collaboration with and engagement of community partners to plan for, implement and coordinate needed services.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on the exercise of judgment and the consideration of all available information often with very little time during active crises.
• Demonstrated expertise and skill in clinical work with adults and youth with serious mental illnesses who may also have had contact with law enforcement and psychiatric emergency services.
• Knowledge of evidence based clinical practice modalities, e.g. motivational interviewing, solution focused brief treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, wellness and recovery principles, and trauma informed care, for examples.
• Knowledge of Medi-Cal and Medicare regulations and managed mental health care.
• Strong knowledge of Avatar, Soarian and other tools used by BHRS for information and charting.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and evaluation skills.
• Experience working with clients of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
• Inpatient and outpatient clinical experience.
• Experience working with clients on the streets and in shelters.
• Collaborative experience or knowledge of the Criminal Justice system.

 

Examples Of Duties

• Tracking of data for established and pilot programs and report these statistics out to leadership.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification:  
Possession of a valid California license in at least one of the following:  Registered Nurse; Clinical Psychology; Clinical Social Worker; or Marriage, Family and Child Counseling.

Education and Experience: 
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is a Master's degree in a mental health specialty, such as social work, nursing, or clinical counseling and two years of professional post-graduate experience in a mental health setting.

Knowledge of: 
Basic program management techniques and practices; principles and practices of supervision and training; human and health services system in the County including private agencies and their community resources; current philosophy, principles and practices for services to clients with serious mental illness; legal and policy aspects of community mental health methods; techniques of family, individual and group counseling and diagnosis; individual, group and family psychodynamics; current principles and practices of psychiatric casework; mental health consultation and education; and problems, needs, attitudes and behavior patterns of patients/clients.

Skill/Ability to:

Scorekeepers will be responsible for putting out and picking up the bases at the beginning and end of night, turning on and off the field lights, keeping score for each game played and keeping the official game time and other duties as assigned. This is a part time, non-benefited position, up to 30 hours per week and limited to 960 hours in a fiscal year (July-June). You must be available to work Monday-Friday during the hours of 6pm-10:15pm, from early March – mid-November.

THE POSITION
The City of Campbell Recreation and Community Services Department is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and experienced Swim Team Coach for Campbell Wave Swim Team, ages 6-18 years old, at the Campbell Community Center. This position reports to the Aquatics Recreation Specialist. 

Salary Range: $17.00 to $25.00 per hour DOQ

Part-Time, Temporary Non-Benefited position

Schedule: Actual work schedule to be determined through mutual agreement with supervisor. Employee may be required to work weekends.

Location: Campbell Community Center, 1 West Campbell Avenue, Campbell

Responsibilities: 

• Swim team coordination with Aquatics Recreation Specialist;  
• Prepares and implements work-outs;
• Tracks and encourages team enrollment;
• Maintains various records;
• Organizes and attends swim meets;
• Evaluates stroke technique;
• Assists with budget preparation;
• Has thorough knowledge of emergency response protocol, risk management and emergency care
• Complies and enforces all City of Campbell and Campbell Recreation and Community Services Department policies and procedures.

In addition, the essential functions of employment include:

• Assistance in developing, organizing and supervising daily operations and practices;
• Assistance in evaluating Campbell Wave swim team program;
• Documentation including daily participant attendance;
• Planning, execution and evaluation of swim meet participation;
• Professional interaction and effective communication with children, swimmers and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum age at time of hire is 18 years old.
• Two (2) or more years of swim coaching experience
• Valid California Driver’s license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Safety Training for Swim Coaches or Lifeguard Training certification.
• TB Clearance.
• Fingerprint clearance (Department of Justice background check). The City of Campbell will schedule fingerprint appointment and encumber cost upon hire.

Highly desirable, but not mandatory upon hiring: 

• Professional certification(s), including American Swim Coaches’ Association or USA
• Swimming Coaching, CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches or Lifeguard Training.

About this role

We are seeking responsible, reliable and enthusiastic individuals to oversee the San Mateo High School Gym. Gym Attendants will be responsible for class registrations and refunds, cash handling procedures, maintaining the office area and supplies, safety issues regarding the facility and program participants, any set up or breakdown needed for activities scheduled and other duties as assigned. This is a part time, non-benefited position, up to 30 hours per week and limited to 960 hours in a fiscal year (July-June).  You must be available to work Monday-Friday during the hours of 5:30pm-10:15pm and one Saturday or Sunday between the hours of 9am-9pm, year-round.

Part-Time Position - No Benefits

The Belmont Parks and Recreation Department is recruiting for part-time Building Attendants. Building Attendants provide operational supervision of facilities during the absence of full-time staff.

Building Attendant I - This is the entry level class in the Building Attendant series.  Incumbents in this class work under close supervision.  As experience is gained, incumbents may be granted more independence of action under established guidelines.

Building Attendant II - This is the journey level class in the Building Attendant series. Incumbents are expected to work independently in the absence of close supervision.
