Job Description

Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician supports the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients served by the San Francisco Department of Public Health. Assists registered pharmacists in performing nonprofessional duties in an institutional pharmacy; receives, inspects, stores, and fills orders for pharmaceutical supplies. • Accurately prepares unit dose medications, compounds a variety of pharmaceuticals under the supervision of a Pharmacist, including intravenous admixtures according to proper aseptic technique and in accordance with, professional standards and departmental policies and procedures, in order to maintain required levels of supply and to provide patients with needed medications;

The Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is a 15.7 MDG sub-regional facility that serves an estimated 164,545 customers  administering the annual operation and maintenance budget over $12.8 million with a staff of 34 professional and technical personnel.  The City of San Mateo is building a team tasked with the safe and continuous operation of the current expansion of this conventional activated sludge plant by introducing new facilities including; preliminary treatment, primary treatment, enhanced biological nutrient removal/membrane bioreactors (BNR/MBR), biological and chemically enhanced treatment (BioACTIFLO), and additional upgrades to existing process equipment. A vital and instrumental member of this team is the WWTP Operator III.

The Position

This position will receive general direction from the Chief Plant Operator and instruction from their Shift Supervisor to provide daily guidance to lower level operators and trainees. The WWTP Operator III will be responsible for supporting these efforts to guide, develop and mentor staff on their assigned shift, act in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the Shift Supervisor, and is the assigned lead in getting both scheduled and unscheduled work completed. • Operate rolling vehicles and stationary machinery as required to perform essential job functions.

THE POSITION:

Under direct supervision, the Police Officer Trainee attends a Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) approved Police Basic Recruit Academy and successfully completes the academic and physical training required for appointment to the classification of Police Officer Recruit II. Police Officer Trainees are considered at-will employees. Police officer probationary status begins when the trainee is sworn in as a Police Officer Recruit II after completion of the police academy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Participate in a P.O.S.T certified police academy designed to provide an overview of the criminal justice system including knowledge of laws, police procedures, law enforcement techniques, first aid and physical fitness.
• Receives training to develop an awareness of Police Department functions, as well as the responsibilities of Police Officers and how those responsibilities relate to field operations.
• Receives academy and field training to become a Police Officer.
• Learns proper handling and firing of firearms, report writing and emergency vehicle operation. 
• Develops an understanding and working knowledge of the California Penal, Vehicle, Health and Safety Codes. 
• Develops an understanding of proper evidence collection and preservation methods.

The County of San Mateo Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) seeks a Board eligible or Board certified Adult Psychiatrist to join the North County Behavioral Health Center in Daly City, California, to work with adult BHRS clients with severe mental illness and substance use disorders. This is a full-time position.

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include but are not limited to the following: 

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and make diagnoses.
• Prescribe appropriate treatment plans and prescribe therapy, psychotherapy, rehabilitation programs, and medications as needed.
• Medication management, including Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) as needed.
• Coordinate the work of consulting medical specialists.
• Act as physician member of a multi-disciplinary team for clinical work or program development.
• Train and supervise medical students, interns and residents.
• Provide clinical supervision to licensed and professional staff.
• Prepare reports and maintain records of activities.
• Conduct and direct individual and group psychotherapy.
• Consult and work with other medical and/or mental health professionals in the community when necessary.
• Confer with clients' relatives or loved ones regarding illness and treatment.
• Maintain electronic records of diagnosis, treatment and prognosis according to BHRS standards and other regulatory agencies.
• Develop comprehensive case histories.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

Board Certification or completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program.

Licensure/Certification:

• License to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of California.
• Possession of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
