The Code Enforcement Officer is distinguished from the Supervisor by performing work of moderate difficulty and more routine tasks and duties assigned to this position within this classification series. The Code Enforcement Officer will respond to citizen concerns and proactively identify violations such as property maintenance issues, and zoning infractions. You will educate the public on code requirements through clear and respectful communication and work collaboratively with other city departments and external agencies to resolve issues. Additionally, the Code Enforcement Officer will issue notices, citations, and follow up on compliance efforts in a fair and consistent manner. It is also imperative that the Code Enforcement Officer maintain accurate case files and documentation for possible legal proceedings.

Exciting projects include a $3 million modernization of the Downtown branch, set for completion by July 2025, and a $2 million renovation of the Pickleweed branch, with construction beginning in August 2025. THE POSITION

The Librarian I/II will perform varied professional library work, including collection development of library materials; development of library services, programs, outreach, and marketing; technical services work; and assisting patrons with basic and complex informational requests.  The Librarian I/II will be proficient with library systems.

THE POSITION

The Senior Librarian is responsible for a full range of complex librarian duties including classification; cataloging; reference; readers advisory; collection development; program planning, development, and evaluation; outreach and marketing; and service to specialized populations including youth, adults, and/or non-English speaking individuals.  

IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are seeking three dedicated and experienced Senior Librarians to oversee key areas within our library system.  Each Senior Librarian will be responsible for one of the following units:  Children's Services, Adult/Teen Services, or Branch Services.  The ideal candidate will have a solid background in library operations, including collection development, reference services, program planning, and community outreach.  Proven leadership skills are essential, with experience in supervising and training professional and paraprofessional staff while maintaining high service standards.  Expertise in reference services, library technologies, and creating programs for diverse populations, including youth and non-English speakers, will be crucial in meeting the evolving needs of our community.

• Prepares and installs traffic signs and related posts per specifications.
• Places traffic barriers and warning signs and directs traffic.

• Assists in emergency repairs of Public Works facilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Street Maintenance Worker I:

• Equivalent to graduation from high school to provide necessary reading and communication skills;
• Prior experience in the operation of power driven equipment or previous maintenance experience is desirable but not required.

Street Maintenance Worker II:

• Equivalent to graduation from high school.
• Two years of increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance and construction of Public Works facilities equivalent to the Street Maintenance Worker I.  

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Street Maintenance Worker I:

• Valid California Driver's License
• Must obtain a Class B license prior to passing probation

Street Maintenance Worker II:

• Valid California Driver's License
• Effective July 1, 2010, employees hired or promoted into the SMWII position are required to obtain a Class B license prior to pass probationary period, and participate in the DOT program.
