We are now actively recruiting for one (1) part-time Behavioral Health Advocate I position within our Wellness Center, Tri-City's community hub for activities that promote recovery, resiliency and wellness for people confronting mental health challenges. 

The Behavioral Health Advocate I position provides advocacy, guidance, feedback, outreach and support to help families to access and work more effectively with the systems involved.   These positions report to a Program Supervisor.

This position will perform the following essential duties, including, but not limited to:

• Provides peer to peer support services in the office and/or in the field including, but not limited to outreach, support, encouragement, guidance, advocacy, and referrals to external resources and services for clients and their families; builds rapport with clients and their families through sharing stories of lived experience and recovery.

• Encourages and supports clients to fully engage in services; provides outreach and assists clients in addressing and overcoming barriers to treatment.

• Prepares and facilitates a variety of wellness groups and group activities; monitors groups to ensure compliance with group rules and encourages client participation.

• Assists clients and families to understand behavioral health problems and steps to recovery.

• Serves as a role model to build and sustain connections and relationships with clients and the
  community.

• Accompanies clients to meetings and appointments to support their self-advocacy and facilitate better communication with service providers.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are currently looking to fill one (1) vacancy for the Clinical Therapist I/II with our Child and Family Services Department in our School Partnership Team.

Our Clinical Therapist I/II  will appeal to individuals who are passionate about working with children, adolescents, young adults and their families in the field, in the office, and/or in the school setting.  In addition, we offer flexible scheduling options including a hybrid schedule (depending on department's needs) and bilingual pay.

The positions are responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provide individual, family, group therapy for adults, children, adolescents, and youth with mental illness and their families; facilitate child and family team meetings;

• Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.

• Provide home, field, office and/or school services; complete all DMH documentation; participate in the on-call rotation;

• Perform routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure; completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.

• Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.

• Works with clients to address stressors and barriers to treatment and/or social functioning; identifies and focuses on client strengths and personal resources to effectively engage and treat client.

THE POSITION

Tri-City looking to fill a unique opportunity for Clinical Supervisor I/II who oversees our Internship Program within our Wellness Center. The Clinical Supervisor I position will report to the Wellness Center Manager and will provide administrative and clinical supervision for 4-8 interns year-round. 

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Coordinate and oversee the operational activities as they pertain to the Master of Social Work (MSW) Student Internship Program;

• Develop, implement, and evaluate the field internship curriculum for 1st and 2nd year MSW interns;

• Assist with required monthly, quarterly reports, annual updates and other analysis and evaluations for assigned projects by analyzing and interpreting program data.

• Develop Wellness Center programming that is responsive, relevant and focused on promoting recovery and wellbeing for families and persons living with the impact of mental illness; including crisis intervention and special projects

• Collaborate with persons with lived experience, Tri-City communities, agencies, schools and local advocacy organizations;

• Recommend project updates to correspond with consumer and community needs, funding, and available resources.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for older adults (60+) with Adult Full-Service Partnership (FSP). The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. The Clinical Therapist will report to a Clinical Supervisor.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.

• Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.

• Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.

• Performs routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure;
  completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.

• Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.

• Works with clients to address stressors and barriers to treatment and/or social functioning; identifies and focuses on client strengths and personal resources to effectively engage and treat client.

Minimum Qualifications for consideration: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education/Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade

Experience: One year of experience in the operation of a transit vehicle.

License or Certificate: Possession of an appropriate, valid commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement. Possession of a valid Medical Examination Certification. Possession of, or ability to obtain within the initial training period, a Verification of Transit Training certificate.

The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking enthusiastic and service-oriented individuals to join our team!  As an Administrative Aide (Part-time, Hourly City Worker), you will interact with a broad range of customers and play an important role in delivering extraordinary customer service to City residents and customers.  The Administrative Aide will serve as a primary contact for City departments and maintain positive and professional customer relationships by responding promptly to inquiries and finding solutions.  

The Administrative Aide (Hourly City Worker) is a part-time, hourly, at-will position that involves working approximately 15-25 hours per week, not to exceed 29 hours in a week, or 1000 hours per fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th).  

Exact working hours will vary depending on the department or work location and will be between Monday - Friday. We currently have openings at City Hall/Civic Arts Plaza in the Community Development Department and the Transit division of the Public Works Department.

Primary duties may include but are not limited to:

We are seeking two outgoing and community-oriented individuals to join our Public Works department as temporary, part-time and/or substitute Crossing Guards. This rewarding and impactful position safely assists school children in crossing busy intersections by halting vehicles through the use of mechanical signals and/or hand-held stop signs; maintains order among children waiting to cross the street at street crossing points; permits street crossing only when safe to do so; reports the license numbers of vehicles violating school crosswalk-related traffic laws to Community Services management personnel or the Simi Valley Police Department; and, instills an awareness in school children of safety measures necessary for safe street crossing. 

Pay rate for this position is $16.50 hourly

• Must possess good hearing ability across a frequency range from 500 Hz to 3,000 Hz. Hearing levels meeting these requirements in the better ear either with or without a hearing aid will be acceptable. Under general supervision, a Police Officer is responsible for the performance of law enforcement duties to protect life and property in accordance with applicable laws, to carry out special assignments as necessary, and other related duties as assigned. A wide variety of assignments are available which include Patrol, Traffic, Narcotics, Detectives, Off-Road and Surface Street Motorcycle Patrol, Bike Patrol, Special Weapons Team, Crisis Negotiation Team, Canine, Background Investigations, School Liaison, Gang Suppression, Special Enforcement Section and Intelligence.

Requirements:

Candidates must have completed a California P.O.S.T. Certified Police Academy. Must be 21 years of age as of the appointment date, high school graduate or G.E.D., (as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education), and U.S. citizen or a permanent resident alien who is eligible and has applied for citizenship.

Out-of-State Candidates:

The California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) will conduct an evaluation of all out-of-state training. POST is the sole authority on applicable training and determines whether the candidate must attend an abbreviated academy, or a regular police academy. If an academy is required, the candidate will be hired as a Police Officer Trainee. Upon completion of the academy, promotion will be made to Police Officer.

Applicants passing the Oral Board examination will be placed on the eligibility list based on their Oral Appraisal Board rankings.
