The County of Glenn is seeking an Assistant Director of Public Works who is a strategic, collaborative, and confident leader with effective communication skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead complex engineering projects that provide essential services throughout Glenn County. Reporting directly to the Public Works Director, the Assistant Public Works Director will serve as a project manager for a variety of public works and capital improvement projects, including the design and construction of roads, bridges and storm drainage infrastructure.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives general direction from the Director of Public Works; exercises direct supervision over professional engineering, technical engineering and clerical staff.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

• Plans, directs and coordinates staff work plan.

• Coordinates with other County departments on administrative and fiscal matters

• Participates on or serves as staff liaison to a variety of boards and commissions.

• Prepares division budget; assists in budget implementation; participates in the forecast of  additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; administers approved budget.

The City of Marysville is seeking qualified candidates for the position of a Public Works Director; this recruitment will fill 1 vacancy and create an eligible list.  

Reporting directly to the City Manager, this position is responsible for executive direction, strategic leadership, and management of the Public Works Department, including City maintenance workers and capital improvement projects. 

As the principal administrator of the Public Works Department, the Director; plans, organizes, directs, reviews and manages all department activities and functions including Engineering, Parks and Recreation, Streets, Public Facilities, Wastewater Treatment/Sewage, and Storm Water Management.

The Director also coordinates departmental activities with other City departments, outside agencies, community groups and individuals; and provides highly complex professional advice and support to the City Manager and City Council; assures department compliance with and enforcement of applicable federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and codes; manages and supervises staff; serves as a member of the City’s Executive Team.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Certification

Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar major.

Licenses: Possess valid California Class C Driver’s License.

Experience

Incumbents must have a minimum of three (3) years of managerial experience directly involving municipal services such as public works, public utilities, capital improvement project management, parks maintenance and management, and/or street and facilities maintenance.

THE POSITION

As a Nurse Practitioner, you’ll provide comprehensive psychiatric and mental health services, including independent prescribing, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and leadership within a collaborative care team. This position serves individuals and families with complex mental health needs, helping reduce barriers to care through culturally responsive, trauma-informed practice.  This position will report to the Medical Director or a Supervising/Lead Psychiatrist.

Key Responsibilities/Examples of Essential Duties*:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and risk assessments.

• Diagnose and treat mental health disorders using DSM criteria.

• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications independently.

• Deliver individual, group, and/or family therapy and psychoeducation.

• Document services in compliance with HIPAA and HITECH standards.

The County of Yuba is recruiting for both Extra-Help and Full-Time Juvenile Corrections Officers I/II, in an effort to fill current vacancies and expand staffing levels. These positions are located on the Tri-County Youth Rehabilitation Campus which falls under the Juvenile Institutions Division of the Yuba County Probation Department.  The primary responsibilities of this flexibly staffed position are to: provide care, custody, supervision, and control of youth housed in the secured detention facilities while they are pending legal action or serving a post adjudication commitment; ensure and sustain a safe and secure environment for youth; and coordinate counseling and behavior modification activities associated with the operation of the facilities.

About Detention Services & Yuba County:

Our Department believes people can change and we can be instrumental in supporting that change.  We are  a small workplace family that supports one another to accomplish our mission and allow our team members to live full lives outside the workplace. Our Campus provides youth detention services to the communities of Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties as well as several contract counties through our Camp Singer program.  We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, and includes the Tri-County Juvenile Hall, Secure Housing Unit, and Maxine Singer Youth Guidance Center (Camp Singer), under a Joint Powers Agreement between the three counties. Our Department is the administrative agency responsible for the management and daily operation of the facility. The shared goal of facility staff is to provide youth with support and tools that will assist them with successfully reintegrating back into the community.  Staff are provided with state mandated relevant training, which includes youth trauma; crisis management; cultural competence; mental health awareness; sexual abuse and harassment; and proper use of force.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Social Worker Supervisor III in the Child and Adult Protective Services division of the Health and Human Services Department. Under general supervision this position plans, assigns, supervises, trains, reviews and evaluates the work of Social Workers assigned to adult and child protective services; oversees and performs social services case work of a complex and difficult nature in providing a variety of social services to County residents; performs case work of varying scope and complexity and may provide program leadership and consultative services; responsible for program planning and implementation as well as performance of the most complex work and the full range of work supervised on a relief or overflow basis and performs other duties as assigned. This position is the specialized supervisory professional level in the social worker series and reports directly to a Health and Human Services Program Manager.

Examples of Duties:

• Plan, organize, assign, supervise, review and evaluate the work of various levels of professional social work staff in the area of adult and child protective services.
• Provide direction and coaching, through regular feedback sessions; create individual development plans with employees, discuss job performance problems to identify causes and issues, and work on resolving problems; and offer advice and assistance as needed.
• Recommend and administer discipline and implement discipline procedures as needed/directed.
• Recommend selection of staff; provide or coordinate staff training and provide for their professional development.
• Interpret regulations and rules to staff; provide for consistency of staff interpretation and application of such rules and regulations.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the classification of Social Worker II. Under general supervision, incumbents perform moderately complex social services case work by providing a variety of services to County residents; conducting field visits; identifying, assessing and arranging alternative solutions to clients’ needs and obstacles; carry a moderately complex caseload; prepare and monitor plans; prepare court reports, depending on area of assignment; and perform related work as assigned. The work may be related to a specific program area or to more general social service benefit provision.

Example of Duties:

• Interview and counsel a diverse population of clients; isolate barriers to self-sufficiency; and evaluate need for services and/or make appropriate referrals to training, public assistance and social services programs.

Working under general supervision, the Correctional Technician is responsible for operating and monitoring video and audio systems to maintain the safety and security of inmates, juveniles, and staff within the secure detention areas. Additional responsibilities include performing various technical and clerical tasks related to the intake and release process for the County's Jail system, and juveniles at the Tri-County Juvenile Hall and Maxine Singer Youth Guidance Center, inputting relevant data into the booking system, documenting inmate and juvenile observations, providing public reception, access, and assistance as required, and other related duties as assigned.

• Process paperwork provided by law enforcement officer or the courts for new inmates or youth; verify information on booking forms; obtain signatures; oversee telephone usage; obtain photographs; inventory and securely process property and money for safekeeping.
• Gather and enter inmate or youth information into computerized booking system; prepare and route computer-generated booking; complete files, logs, charts and other documents associated with jail or juvenile detention facility booking activities.
• Participate in monitoring safety and security of the staff, inmates, juveniles, visitors and facility; notify appropriate staff of any incidents, problems, or suspicious behavior.
