DEFINITION:

Under direction, plans, configures/develops, and manages information technology-related projects involving critical applications, large systems, databases, and sophisticated processes; provides team leadership, guidance, business, and technical expertise on assigned projects involving citywide computer systems; designs and/or creates database structures and data migration/conversion techniques for system(s) conversions or upgrades. Monitors and tunes databases to obtain optimum performance; creates and develops reports; applies analytical and advanced design techniques in developing and/or modifying new programs and/or systems; codes, configures and/or tests programs, and resolves related problems in large, complex systems; provides technical guidance to lower-level IT personnel and contractors through training, mentoring, and coaching. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

Application Integrator I

The Application Integrator I is the entry level class in this series and performs the more routine tasks associated with database and application projects. This classification may be alternatively staffed with the Application Integrator II, and incumbents may advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating a level of proficiency that meets the qualifications of the higher-level class.

Application Integrator II

The Application Integrator II is the journey level class responsible for the full range of duties associated with database and application projects. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Senior Application Integrator in that the latter is an advanced journey level, performs the most complex assignments, and may have lead responsibilities.

Senior Application Integrator

The Senior Application Integrator is the advanced journey level and/or lead class responsible for a wide variety of complex database and application projects. Positions at this level are distinguished from other classes within the series by the level of responsibility assumed, complexity of duties assigned, independence of action taken, and by the amount of time spent performing the duties.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED:

Application Integrator I

Receives direct supervision from the Chief Innovation and Technology Officer. Incumbents of this class do not routinely exercise supervision.

Application Integrator II

Receives supervision from the Chief Innovation and Technology Officer. Incumbents of this class do not routinely exercise supervision.

Senior Application Integrator

Receives general direction from the Chief Innovation and Technology Officer or his/her designee. May exercise technical and functional supervision over assigned staff.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (include but are not limited to the following)

• Perform complex work related to database management and administration, including designing, configuring, and implementing databases infrastructure architecture, backup and recovery planning implementation, integrations, overseeing disk capacity of server and database infrastructure, and monitoring performance of assigned databases and servers; modifying and upgrading existing databases; coordinating, developing, and performing data export and import routines between applications; and creating and modifying query language scripts.
• Perform complex work related to application development, configuration, integration and administration, including designing, developing, overseeing, and implementing application and integration architecture; backup and recovery planning; and implementation, integration, performance monitoring, data analysis, modifying and upgrading existing solutions, creating and modifying applications utilizing programming languages including but not limited to HTML, JavaScript, PowerShell, JSON, SQL, and Python.
• Coordinates and monitors information technology operational systems for the City, including analyzing, diagnosing, maintaining, and troubleshooting assigned system areas, such as applications, operating systems, and database systems.
• Researches available technologies; assists in the development and administration of Requests for Proposal to acquire applicable departmental programs or systems from vendors in order to meet the identified needs; performs cost/benefit analyses of said systems; manages and executes installation upgrades and system patches; tracks problems and requests for system enhancement and equipment upgrades; identifies and recommends solutions related to the assigned program; and resolves problems as they occur.
• Assists with and performs installation of new and existing software, complex configuration duties, and related data migration, conversion, maintenance, and extraction work; performs modifications, testing, and implementation of vendor software; develops, coordinates, and implements plans to test business and functional processes during system development and quality assurance; participates in the design of all required system interfaces and reviews and monitors vendors’ work.
• Serves as a trainer for staff regarding new procedures and software applications; demonstrates the software application systems; prepares written procedures and training materials for staff; provides support for specific department applications; tests programs and applications from users’ perspective.
• Conducts systems analyses; develops business and technical requirements; designs functional and technical specifications, writes source code, and tests applications.
• Assists in the planning and coordination of migrations from legacy systems and the implementation of ongoing maintenance of new computer systems.
• Lead and manage complex projects involving multiple City departments.
• Acts as a technical resource for City staff; identifies and suggests alternatives and recommends process changes through information systems; assists in identifying potential required changes to business processes and/or procedures.
• Participates in defining requirements, development, design, and validation of new automated computer systems.
• Develops and runs custom reports using a variety of report applications and systems.
• Designs, writes, tests, and documents a variety of computer programs/report-writers using applicable programming languages.
• Prepares and maintains documentation and instruction; maintains and updates manuals, codebooks, templates, web pages, and related documents; follows recommended protocols and procedures.
• Creates and maintains users, user permissions, system privileges, passwords and other administrative tasks for assigned systems; monitors, logs, and files for evidence of problems and system issues; performs necessary backup/recovery activities at scheduled times.

 

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities.  The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in keeping records and preparing reports using a computer keyboard.  Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading written reports and work-related documents and acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal service.  The nature of the work may require the incumbent to lift equipment and materials weighing up to 25 pounds or more.

Definition
Under general supervision, performs complex and varied advanced-journey level duties in the maintenance and repair of signaling and rail safety systems, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) hardware, software and network devices, ticket vending equipment controllers and network devices, and other electrical equipment; and performs related work as assigned.
 

About Way, Power & Signal Maintenance
Way, Power & Signal Maintenance is responsible for timely and reliable maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, repair and servicing of the light rail right-of-way, rail system power, tracks, signals, station facilities and related equipment. Components of the Way, Power & Signal unit are:

• Station & Wayside Maintenance: Station & Wayside Maintenance maintains and repairs (including graffiti removal) light rail stations, terminal buildings, restrooms, park & ride lots, landscaping, fences, guardrails, and other trackside areas.

• Track Maintenance: Track Maintenance maintains (including right-of-way weed eradication, vegetation control, and graffiti removal), performs preventive maintenance, inspects, services and repairs rail, switches, ties, roadbed, and track systems.

• Power Maintenance: Power Maintenance maintains (including trackside right-of-way tree trimming), performs preventive maintenance, inspects, repairs, and services light rail electric power systems, including overhead, substations, lighting, and other electrical systems.

• Signal Maintenance: Signal Maintenance maintains, performs preventive maintenance, inspects, repairs, and services signal systems, crossing gates, fare machines, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) controls, and station audio/video equipment.

• Passenger Facilities Maintenance: Passenger Facilities Maintenance maintains, performs preventive maintenance, inspects, repairs, and services all VTA-maintained passenger facilities, including bus stops. Services include: bench installation, painting and repair, core drilling for poles at new bus stops, garbage collection, trash receptacle installation and relocation, graffiti abatement, litter removal, pressure washing, red curb painting, signage inspection, route updates, and sweeping services. Typical Tasks

• Inspects, maintains, and repairs rail signaling and safety systems, including approach circuitry, transponders, switch controls, relays, preemptor controls and crossing gates; designs, constructs, and installs temporary interlocks and turnbacks;
• Monitors, maintains, modifies, installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and supports the light rail SCADA system hardware, software and LAN network devices; creates displays and alarms; uses diagnostic tools to identify and resolve network problems;
• Inspects, maintains, repairs, and administers Ticket Vending Machine master controllers, LAN, and network devices;
• Inspects, maintains, and repairs communication systems, including telephone equipment and switches, visual message boards, paging and speaker systems, and other related equipment;

Minimum Qualifications

Employment Standards
Development of the required knowledge, skills and abilities is typically obtained through completion of a two year program at a recognized academic, trade or vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship in the trade; and three years of journey-level experience in the inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic and communications systems.

HOUSING OFFICER

 

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a Housing Officer to oversee the Housing Division in the Community Development Department, responsible for the City's affordable housing programs, human services funding, federal grants and homeless services. The ideal candidate will be a passionate affordable housing professional known for being creative and solution-oriented and will be well-versed in state and federal housing legislation and familiar with the unique challenges presented by California's housing market. This position manages the City's varied federal, state and local housing programs and projects and is responsible for managing the technical, fiscal and policy aspects of complex projects and programs. This position serves as liaison to the Housing and Human Services Commission which advises the City Council on funding and policy related to affordable housing and human services. The Housing Officer needs to work collaboratively with the Director, the other two program managers, the Housing Division staff, and many directors and program managers in other City Departments. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

The Essentials 

• Three years increasingly responsible building inspection experience supplemented by journey level construction trade experience.

What You'll Do
 

• Perform field inspections on various structural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and building systems at various stages of building construction, alteration, or repair to ensure compliance with applicable codes. 
• Check building plans for compliance with applicable codes.
• Confer with and resolve code and inspection disputes between staff and builders, developers, contractors, architects, engineers, and the public. 
• Respond to questions and concerns of assigned staff and/or the public; assist in coordinating inspection activities. 
• Collaborate on code violation cases with the Code Enforcement Division of the City Attorney’s Office.
• Coordinate inspection activities with inspection staff in other City Divisions/ Departments, such as Planning, Fire, Environmental Safety, and Public Works, and in collaboration with other county and state agencies. 
• Provide training to new Building Inspection staff and on City policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. 
• Prepare appropriate paperwork, violation notices, records, and reports. 
• Support the public counter and Permit Center in the Building Division as needed. 
• Develop and prepare forms and online content related to inspection services for the City Website, in collaboration with other Department staff.

The City of Dixon Fire Department is recruiting to fill current Firefighter/Paramedic vacancies as soon as possible and to establish an eligibility for future needs. To be considered eligible for this hiring and eligibility list, you must meet the following criteria:

• Pass the Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC) Entry Level Firefighter Written Exam and be placed on the FCTC Statewide Eligibility List.
• Possess a current, valid Cal-JAC CPAT Card issued within the last 12 months from date of application submission and ability to pass the City of Dixon's aerial ladder agility test.
• Possess a valid Firefighter 1 Academy certificate or California State Fire Marshal Firefighter 1 Certificate.
• Possess a current, valid California or National Registry Paramedic certification (note: persons possessing a National Registry Certification will be required to register as a California Paramedic prior to appointment).
• Valid California Class “C” Driver’s License with a clean driving record. Note: A DMV driving record will also be required to be submitted with your application.

The Dixon Fire Department offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for qualified applicants pursuing a career in fire safety.  The position performs fire prevention activities to save lives and property; responds to hazardous material incidents; responds to all fire alarms with designated company; prepares and operates the necessary equipment at the scene of the fire such as a hose, ladders, chemicals, bars, hooks, etc.; administers first aid to injured patrons; performs other acts required of a Firefighter at the scene of an emergency; carries out all duties assigned by Superior Officers.  Work involves irregular hours during the day and evenings, and on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

ABOUT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Woodland Police Department is staffed with 71 sworn officers, 18 professional employees, and 8 part-time temporary professional employees. Our staffing is expected to expand in size as the City grows. The Department is managed by a Chief of Police, a Deputy Chief, 4 Lieutenants, 10 Sergeants, and a Police Records Supervisor. The Department has three Bureaus; Patrol, Investigations, and Community Relations. Police Officers are assigned to all Bureaus where they work in various capacities and teams.   Within the Bureaus are many specialty units including K-9, Traffic/Motors, School Resource Officers, Gang Task Force, Detectives, and Homeless Outreach Street Team.  There are a number of collateral duties available to officers including SWAT, Crisis Negotiations Team, Field Training Officer, Honor Guard, Arrest & Control Instructors, Firearms Instructors, Gang Resistance Education, and Training (G.R.E.A.T) instructors, Social Media Team, Recruitment, and Bicycle Patrol.
