The Ideal Candidate

Work Schedule: This is a 20-24-hour per week position. The regular work schedule is Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; weekend work may be occasionally required. This position is limited to up to 1000 hours per year. However, employment might end sooner, depending on the needs of the hiring department. Extra-help positions are paid hourly and are not guaranteed permanent status at the end of the extra-help assignment. 

The Town of Truckee is seeking an experienced, highly-motivated, collaborative team member to play a vital role in the Town’s Engineering Division. The primary focus of this position advertisement is to find a key team member to join the Division in either the Assistant or Associate Engineer role, depending on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.
The Engineering Division works on the implementation of a variety of Capital Improvement Projects (CIPs) including new trails, roundabouts, streetscape improvements, roadway infrastructure, and miscellaneous Council priorities, such as new parks or new Town facility improvements. This position will be involved in the planning, design, permitting, and construction management of a variety of these types of CIPs. On the private development side, the Division oversees the design and construction of site and right-of-way improvements associated with private development, such as the Soaring Ranch Development (Raley’s shopping center), Truckee Railyard projects, subdivisions, commercial projects, and affordable housing projects. The Assistant/Associate Engineer position is also responsible for administering grant funds when applicable, project budget management, and responding to community requests related to the Engineering Division’s responsibilities, such as sign requests, drainage issues, or traffic concerns.
The distinction between the Assistant/Associate levels is the ability to perform up to the full range of duties assigned, including differing levels of independent use of judgement, under the general supervision of the Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager. The Associate Engineer level requires current registration as a licensed professional engineer in the State of California. The Assistant Engineer does not require registration as a licensed professional engineer, although education in an engineering or related field is desired.
The ideal candidate has experience in various facets of engineering such as plan review, site design, construction inspection, project management, stormwater management, government processes, and traffic engineering, as well as good communication skills for both one-on-one conversations and public presentations. Description 

Under the general direction from the Recreation Supervisor, the Recreation Specialist – Enrichment is responsible to act as a liaison to the Department’s flourishing enrichment (after school) program and ensure the smooth operation of programming for preschool and elementary aged classes both on and off-site. This includes the elementary-aged afterschool programs Supervised Play at Old Mill Elementary School and Center of Play at the Mill Valley Community Center. This position requires a high level of customer service, attention to detail, marketing prowess, evaluation and oversight of programs, independent contractors, and part-time staff, and the ability to build relationships throughout the community. The Recreation Specialist- Enrichment will assist other staff in the Youth and Teens Division for seasonal programs as needed. 

The ideal candidate will have significant experience working in elementary aged programs, ideally in a fast-paced and dynamic setting. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in early childhood education, recreation, or a related field with a minimum of two years of experience in delivering kindergarten, elementary and/or youth programming, etc. is preferred.

Salary Range

The Assistant Director salary range is currently $178, 713.34 - $288, 700.62. Placement within this range will be dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the individual selected. The Process Control Technician performs a variety of technical and professional engineering duties related to the design, installation, set-up, programming, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware, software and instrumentation associated with the District’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

They support Operations and Maintenance by troubleshooting, researching, designing, purchasing, and installing field instrumentation, programmable logic controller (PLC), operator interface terminals (OIT), variable speed drives, electrical systems, and other appurtenances. DEFINITION: Under general supervision, provide personal fitness training to clients requesting service; maintain personal schedule at the front desk; enforce all rules and regulations pertaining to the safety and well being of all patrons; keep fitness floor tidy and clean. Perform related work as required, may include light cleaning and janitorial.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Ensuring that the participant’s needs are met through personal recognition and by providing quality service and group fitness classes.
• Provide corrective feedback and proper technique.
• Maintain certain class records and reports as required.
• Assuming a leadership role as a professional.
• Ensuring that a safe and healthy environment exists for exercising.
• Enforce all rules and regulations.
• Recognize and respond professionally to emergencies, provide care as indicated under the scope of training.
• Assume assigned duties connected with care and maintenance of the facility.
• Provide basic maintenance, equipment care.
• Deal tactfully and courteously with the public.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other city employees, other agencies, and the general public.
• Actively attend and participate in required staff training and in-service drills.
• Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
• The ability to speak English clearly and understandably.
• Perform related duties as required.
