The Code Enforcement Officer is distinguished from the Supervisor by performing work of moderate difficulty and more routine tasks and duties assigned to this position within this classification series. The Code Enforcement Officer will respond to citizen concerns and proactively identify violations such as property maintenance issues, and zoning infractions. You will educate the public on code requirements through clear and respectful communication and work collaboratively with other city departments and external agencies to resolve issues. Additionally, the Code Enforcement Officer will issue notices, citations, and follow up on compliance efforts in a fair and consistent manner. It is also imperative that the Code Enforcement Officer maintain accurate case files and documentation for possible legal proceedings.

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is looking for a Bilingual Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) within our Therapeutic Community Garden (TCG) who will facilitate/co-facilitate Therapeutic Community Garden (TCG) groups, community outreach, curriculum development, participate in community events and presentations, garden events and establish relationships and collaborate with outside agencies. Will provide behavioral health support services to individuals in need of and requesting behavioral health services for both adults and children. The Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) will report to the Clinical Program Manager.

 

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Facilitate and/or co-facilitate therapeutic support groups in a garden setting and virtually using mindfulness techniques;
• Perform community outreach internally and externally;
• Create and develop curriculum for the TCG Program;

• Work on a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery;
• Create and develop TCG workshops for the community;

POSITION SUMMARY

The Wildfire Resilience Coordinator will manage projects related to the overall MRCA efforts regarding wildfire resilience, including tracking and analyzing existing funding sources related to wildfire preparedness and response, supporting staff project as defined by the early action wildfire resilience plan, coordinating with other MRCA and SMMC staff members working on wildfire related projects and programs, preparing and documenting further regional needs.

 

This position requires a highly motivated, responsible, organized and self-starting individual who can handle an array of tasks at the same time as part of standard workload, has good judgment and can make decisions, and works well independently and as part of a small team.

 

This is professional and technical work pursuant to the terms of grants, contracts, and applicable regulations, involving frequent communication with others. Project managers must also build community and political support, seek funding opportunities, actively cooperate with other government agencies and non­profit organizations, and keep abreast of related planning processes. The work performed will support MRCA’s capital Workprogram for wildfire resilience including improvements, workforce development, ignition prevention and suppression, inspection and monitoring and structure hardening and other MRCA efforts related to public access, open space conservation, habitat restoration, and urban park development. Special projects assigned or led by the Chief of Staff will be supported by this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Implement multiple projects simultaneously: The project manager is the central point of contact on all issues concerning assigned projects and will be responsible for project quality. Perform project tracking, scheduling, and budget management.
• Coordinate between MRCA divisions to track agency-wide wildfire resilience efforts and guide the agency towards accomplishment of big picture wildfire resilience priorities.
• Perform day-to-day administration of grants, prepare required reports and ensure conformance with grant agreements. Analyze, verify and obtain payment approvals for invoices.
• Interagency coordination: Coordinate with Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy grantees to perform tracking and data management on wildfire resilience grants.
• Coordinate with Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, its grantees, and regional stakeholders to advance wildfire resilience efforts in Southern California.
• Determine project scope, options, and alternatives to overcome constraints. Revise as often as needed to address unexpected conditions.
• Demonstrate proactivity to initiate and drive projects, leveraging past experiences, consulting with colleagues, and referencing relevant documentation to successfully launch and manage projects without established precedents.
• Oversee consultants and contractors, manage contracts, coordinate project team and collaborate with coworkers to ensure that the project scope is completed according to grant agreements, schedules, and cost limits. Assist in selection of consultants/contractors.
• Write and coordinate grant proposals and research new funding opportunities for wildfire resilience and workforce development related planning efforts.
• Cooperate with other team members to accomplish project goals; provide support to coworkers on other projects.
• Produce written materials including staff reports, text for publication, proposals, progress reports, and a variety of other documents.
• Write comprehensive reports based on samples, summarizing and analyzing information to provide clear conclusions in the sample's format and style
• Maintain positive relationships with coworkers, representatives of other government agencies, non-profit organizations, homeowner's associations, and the public at large.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position, occasionally move about inside the office to access supplies and office machinery, frequently communicate and exchange information, review handwritten, electronic and facsimile documents, observe site conditions, and operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. Occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions and move between multiple work sites. The employee must occasionally move items weighing up to 20 pounds inside the office.

 

Required Hours And Location

Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week with some scheduling flexibility. Occasional overtime work in evenings or weekends upon prior approval by supervisor. The position will work remotely and out of the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens but may be required to travel to various other locations. Offices at the River Center are spread among multiple buildings and floors.

 

Public Contact

As public parklands, the majority of MRCA properties are open to the general public during operating hours. This position will have contact with members of the public in public areas such as parking lots and shared public/office restrooms, and during public meetings.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

ABOUT THE POSITION

• Conduct cross-connection surveys and tests to identify potential cross-connections to the water system.

• Equivalent to completion of the 12th grade supplemented by approved courses of instruction in the theory, laws, regulations, and techniques of backflow prevention and/or cross-connection control.
• Possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license.
• Possession of an AWWA Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certificate and a California Water Resources Control Board Water Distribution Operator Grade 1 Certificate.  
• Possession of an AWWA Cross-Connection Control Specialist Certificate within one year of appointment.

The City of San Jose is hiring for an Enterprise Resource Planning Modernization Technical Project Manager (Enterprise Supervising Technology Analyst) to lead the project to modernize the City’s ERP System. This is a multi-year project with the first phase being to identify a solution and an ERP implementation partner.
 
The position will be dedicated to managing the consolidation and replacement of the City’s aging ERP applications with a modern and robust ERP system. The ERP Technical Project Manager will partner with the Finance Department and City stakeholders to bring on a consulting firm to oversee the execution of the project. Thereafter, the ERP Technical Project Manager will partner closely with the consulting firm and the Finance Department’s Functional Project Manager to evaluate the City’s current ERP systems, identify gaps and improvements, define the project scope, objectives, and timelines, and manage the project team to ensure the ERP project is delivered on-time and on-budget. 
 
In this role, you would serve as a technical project manager for the modernization of the City’s ERP systems. Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

• Leading the technical workstream for the City’s ERP Modernization project.
• Partner with the Finance and IT sponsors and stakeholders to evaluate, select and onboard a consulting firm to oversee the execution of the project.
• Partner with the consulting firm, Finance Department, and IT stakeholders to evaluate the City’s current ERP systems, identify gaps and improvements, and define the ERP Modernization project scope.
• Collaborate with the project’s cross functional and technical teams and leads to communicate and escalate cross functional and technical impacts.
• Provide oversight and coordination of all technical workstream activities, including status reporting, resourcing, requirements, design, build, test, and deployment tasks.
• Develop, maintain, and operate the project management structure for the ERP implementation, including selection, configuration, deployment and operation of project management tools, project management processes and project reporting.
  • Define and document project scope, objectives, and success criteria with particular focus on alignment with business objectives.
  • Create and maintain project plans, including schedules, timeline, tasks, and budget.
  • Break down complex tasks into actionable work items, with accurately estimated required time and effort, appropriate sequencing plus alignment of co-dependent activities.
  • Determine resource requirements: identify and schedule appropriate people and assets.
  • Manage day to day activities against project plans and identify issues or bottlenecks requiring escalation or resolution.
• Assist in defining and managing project governance roles and parameters.

Salary Information: The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate’s qualifications and experience. In addition to the starting salary, employees in the Enterprise Supervising Technology Analyst (ESTA) classification shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.

• Salary Range (including the 5% NPWI): $141,697.92 – $172,645.20

 The ESTA classification is represented by the City Association of Management Personnel (CAMP).

Additional steps (Step F, Step G, and Step H) included in the salary range listed above are available to employees in this job classification after completion of five years of service (Step F), ten years of service (Step G), and 15 years of service (Step H), and one year at the prior step, and good performance evaluation.  Initial salary placement is typically at the entry point of the range unless the candidate has prior Senior Equipment Mechanic experience which may warrant initial placement at a higher step.

Under general supervision of the Fleet & Facilities Superintendent, our Equipment Mechanics perform both routine and complex repairs, diagnoses, and preventive maintenance services on a variety of automotive, construction, and specialized municipal vehicles and equipment, both gasoline and diesel fueled. The employee in the Senior Equipment Mechanic job classification is required to be fully trained in all fleet shop procedures and have strong knowledge of all apparatuses, vehicles, and equipment in the City fleet. The goal of the Fleet Division is to provide high quality repair and maintenance services to all city-owned vehicles, heavy trucks and equipment.
