The Newark Recreation and Community Services Department seeks motivated, self-driven individuals passionate about working with the public. As a Senior Customer Service Representative, your role is pivotal in delivering exceptional service to our members and guests. As the primary point of contact, supervises part-time staff, enforces Silliman Center policies, assists in training staff, and serves as the primary contact for customers. This position requires you to work at our indoor water park and recreation center.

You must be able to work 15-25 hours a week between 5:30 am and 9:30 pm

The Guest Service Team Member is responsible for providing the highest quality of guest service to all guests. The Guest Service Team Member is expected to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (This is a general description of duties and is not all-inclusive)

• Provide outstanding guest service while performing assigned duties, including interpreting and conveying information throughout the Park
• Complete all daily opening and closing tasks in a timely manner
• Assist in protecting and safeguarding all property assets
• Complete all point of sale transactions accurately and in a timely manner
• Accurately count til amounts at the beginning and end of each shift
• Report transactions accurately including cash, coupon, credit card and complimentary sales
• Assist in preparing food and guest orders
• Resolve guest or associate concerns tactfully and as needed
• Assist with Park and Waterpark events as directed
• Monitor entrance and exit of guests at admission gates and accurately record hourly admission counts from each turnstile while directing a large amount of guests through turnstiles
• Process season pass holders accurately and in a timely manner
• Perform all other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a minimum of fifteen (15) years of age
• Must have basic computer knowledge
• Must maintain positive and productive working relationships with others
• Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating / maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to multi-task

The Pool Tech is an hourly employee of the Parks & Recreation Department. The Pool Tech's primary responsibility is the maintenance of on-site recreation facilities at the Aqua Adventure Water Park and the safe operation of all rides. This responsibility includes water testing, writing reports, pool cleaning, general facility cleaning, public assistance and public education. The Pool Tech is expected to work evenings, weekends and holidays on a regular basis.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (This a general description of duties and is not all-inclusive)

• Provide outstanding customer service while performing assigned duties, including interpreting and conveying information throughout the Waterpark
• Perform a variety of tasks in the operation, maintenance, cleaning and servicing of water at Aqua Adventure Waterpark
• Complete a variety or records and reports, including inspection reports
• Conduct pool inspections to ensure the pool environment is safe for general use
• Treat water with chemicals to maintain safe and healthy water quality and monitor chemical usage
• Performing water tests for chlorine, Ph, calcium hardness and total alkalinity
• Receive chemical deliveries
• Recognize hazardous conditions, emergency notification and contain area until help arrives
• Pool cleaning
• Facility cleaning to ensure the deck is free of debris, clearing garbage and doing bathroom checks
• Maintain facility and make repairs as needed

• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in performing all aspects of assigned responsibilities

The Silliman Family Aquatic Center Lifeguard Academy is for those seeking employment with the City of Newark. The Newark Recreation and Community Services Department is looking for Senior Lifeguards for our fantastic swim lesson and aquatic programs and the upcoming to work at the year-round Silliman Activity & Family Aquatic Center. The City of Lincoln is accepting applications for the position of Refuse Truck Driver II in the Solid Waste division of the Public Works department. Under general supervision, this position performs the full array of duties in the Solid Waste division, including maintenance, operating collection vehicles and refuse equipment operation. This job classification is represented by the Classified, Local 39 employee group; the probation period is 12 months.

Open positions may be filled as regular/full-time or seasonal/part-time.  Seasonal positions are limited to 999 hours per fiscal year and are unbenefited, and may become regular/full-time positions, dependent upon the future needs of the department.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The Refuse Truck Driver II is the journey-level class responsible for a wide variety of maintenance and refuse collection tasks. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Senior Refuse Truck Driver in that the latter performs the more complex assignments and lead responsibilities. 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED

This position receives general supervision from the Solid Waste division’s Public Services Supervisor. May exercise technical and functional supervision over assigned staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Include but are not limited to the following:

• Performs general maintenance, repair, construction, equipment operation and installation work in refuse collection.
• Operates a variety of collection vehicles and equipment including front, rear and side loaders in the collection and transportation of residential and commercial refuse; drives to landfill site when vehicle is full and unloads material; evaluates and updates assigned routes; cleans, maintains and inspects assigned vehicles; maintains daily logs.
• Demonstrates a full understanding of applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties; may provide training to lower level staff; responds to questions and concerns from the general public; provides information as is appropriate and resolves public service complaints.
• Establishes positive working relationships with representatives of community organizations, state/local agencies, City management and staff, and the public.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. The position also requires both near and far vision when inspecting work and operating assigned equipment. The need to lift, carry and push tools, equipment and supplies weighing 25 pounds or more is also required. Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions including wet, hot and cold. The incumbent may use cleaning and lubricating chemicals, pesticides or herbicides which may expose the employee to fumes, dust and air contaminants. The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to climb ladders, use power and noise producing tools and equipment, operate hydraulic aerial devices, drive motorized vehicles and heavy equipment, work in heavy vehicle traffic conditions and often work with constant interruptions.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILLS

Incumbents in this position provide actionable data-driven insight informing and aligning strategic business decisions with customer sentiment.

This classification is distinguished from other marketing and communications classifications by the assigned project management responsibilities leading District-wide, market research projects and studies of considerable size and complexity. Evaluates and recommends professional consulting services for assigned projects; develops and disseminates Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Qualifications (RFQs), and Invitation For Bids (IFBs) and develops proposal evaluation criteria; assists in the negotiation, preparation, and administration of professional services and contracts; recommends and prepares amendments to professional services contracts.

Prepares, reviews, and maintains a variety of project-related information and documentation, including project schedules, Statements of Work (SOWs), status reports, detailing issues, risks, and deliverables; monitors agreements and projects for compliance with relevant codes, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
Attends and participates in professional group meetings and committees; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of project management and market research. Provides technical and functional direction to professional, technical, and contract staff and participates in the formation, planning, review, and management of assigned projects. Performs related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a field directly related to the area to which assigned. For the Market Research Project Manager position the following are applicable fields of study: business administration, sociology, statistics, market research, communications, public administration, marketing, or a related field. Additional experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.

Experience: Six (6) years of experience in the professional field required by the assigned special projects. The Market Research Project Manager position requires experience in developing and implementing market research, marketing, public information, or communications programs with an emphasis on data collection, market analysis, and detailing the customer journey or two (2) years that involved responsibilities at a level equivalent to the District's classification of Project Manager I. Years of experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a two for one basis; two (2) years of experience may be submitted for one (1) year of education).

REPRESENTATIVE FUNCTIONS:

• Directs, organizes and executes complex, high level and high-volume recruitments including development of strategic recruitment plans, planning and placement of advertising, creation of examination plans, writing of announcements and sourcing of candidates.

Develops, coordinates, administers and evaluates oral and written examinations and their results, including compiling test scores, preparing eligibility lists and candidate information;and coordinating follow-up pre-employment drug testing, physical capacity testing, and background/reference checks.
• Analyzes and evaluates new and existing positions for classification; designs and drafts classification specifications or alters existing specifications; explains the classification process and recommendations to managers, supervisors, and employees; and makes recommendations for the improvement of the classification system.
• Conducts job analysis for assigned positions, including identifying job content, analyzing position description questionnaires and writing job descriptions.
• Coordinates and implements recruitment processes for District departments; confers with department managers and supervisors to determine recruiting needs.
• Collaborates with hiring department on workforce planning initiatives.
• Prepare and organize appropriate salary surveys and benchmark comparable positions. May be assigned various human resources special projects as needed.
• Establishes and maintains confidential files and records, and performs administrative tasks such as data entry, and the writing and distribution of correspondence and other documents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Public Administration, or a related field, from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Equivalent to at least four (4) years of increasingly responsible Analyst level experience in a Human Resources Department. Experience in a supervisory or lead capacity is desired. Additional education, such as a graduate degree in one of the above disciplines from an accredited college or university may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Desirable Experience: Experience in high level complex, high volume recruitments, and compensation analysis. Excellent communication skills and presentation skills, ability to develop strong rapport with hiring managers and provide outstanding customer service to internal and external clients. This position requires the incumbent to occasionally travel to District facilities, with the flexibility to work early mornings, late afternoons/evenings, and or on the weekends as needed for events at various District locations and in the community. Union experience is desirable but not required.

AC Transit is seeking a Finance Systems Project Manager. Under general direction serves as the project manager leading a variety of complex, finance systems-related projects. This position works with department end-users, Innovation and Technology (IT) staff, consultants and, vendors to translate business and operational requirements into workable finance system solutions. Incumbents in this position provide training and technical assistance in the use of the system software.

This classification is distinguished from other finance classifications by the assigned project management responsibilities leading District-wide, finance systems-related projects and studies of considerable size and complexity.
