The County of Yuba is recruiting for both Extra-Help and Full-Time Juvenile Corrections Officers I/II, in an effort to fill current vacancies and expand staffing levels. These positions are located on the Tri-County Youth Rehabilitation Campus which falls under the Juvenile Institutions Division of the Yuba County Probation Department.  The primary responsibilities of this flexibly staffed position are to: provide care, custody, supervision, and control of youth housed in the secured detention facilities while they are pending legal action or serving a post adjudication commitment; ensure and sustain a safe and secure environment for youth; and coordinate counseling and behavior modification activities associated with the operation of the facilities.

About Detention Services & Yuba County:

Our Department believes people can change and we can be instrumental in supporting that change.  We are  a small workplace family that supports one another to accomplish our mission and allow our team members to live full lives outside the workplace. Our Campus provides youth detention services to the communities of Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties as well as several contract counties through our Camp Singer program.  We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, and includes the Tri-County Juvenile Hall, Secure Housing Unit, and Maxine Singer Youth Guidance Center (Camp Singer), under a Joint Powers Agreement between the three counties. Our Department is the administrative agency responsible for the management and daily operation of the facility. The City is now accepting applications for the position of Management Analyst I/II. Education and Experience:

• Management Analyst I- Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Management Analyst II- In addition to the above education requirement, two (2) years of progressively responsible professional level organizational administrative and/or operational support experience. 

License and Certificate:

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Social Worker Supervisor III in the Child and Adult Protective Services division of the Health and Human Services Department. Under general supervision this position plans, assigns, supervises, trains, reviews and evaluates the work of Social Workers assigned to adult and child protective services; oversees and performs social services case work of a complex and difficult nature in providing a variety of social services to County residents; performs case work of varying scope and complexity and may provide program leadership and consultative services; responsible for program planning and implementation as well as performance of the most complex work and the full range of work supervised on a relief or overflow basis and performs other duties as assigned. This position is the specialized supervisory professional level in the social worker series and reports directly to a Health and Human Services Program Manager.

THE POSITION

Under administrative direction, the City Engineer plans, organizes, coordinates and directs all Engineering Division activities of the various functional units including capital project design and construction administration, development review, traffic engineering, signal and streetlight maintenance and storm water program administration; provides professional assistance to City staff in areas of responsibility; performs related work as required.

CLASS CHARACTERISITICS

The City Engineer is a single incumbent class at the middle management level. The City Engineer is responsible for the direction and management of activities and achievement of division goals established for the Engineering Division.

• Oversees the contract for street lighting and traffic signal system maintenance and related facilities and appurtenances.
• Oversees the activities of the local utility companies that support the City’s CIP projects, regional transportation projects, development projects and utility improvements.
• Oversees the activities of the City’s Stormwater/Clean Water Program, including the preparation and submission of the annual report.
• Understanding of federal, state, county and local transportation funds and the requirements and policies for project implementation including planning, environmental, design, right of way, construction and project close-out and may serve as City’s technical advisory member for the Alameda County Transportation Commission monthly funding meetings.
• Performs all activities related to the preparation and administration of grant proposals; coordinates with grant program staff to satisfy grant requirements and achieve funding reimbursements.   
• Ensures that the City is in continuing compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to municipal engineering and public works matters; reviews and recommends revisions to applicable policies and ordinances. 
• Advises the Public Works Director, City Manager’s Office and others on the planning and implementation of capital projects, land development or other related activities. 
• Prepares and presents engineering recommendations to the City Council in conformance with applicable codes, rules, regulations, and other legal requirements; functions as the Public Works staff representative to the Planning Commission and other City committees as required. 
• Represents the City in meetings and coordinates division activities with those of other City departments, divisions and outside public and private agencies
• Responds to citizen inquiries, requests and complaints.
• Serves as the Public Works Director on a relief basis.

The Emergency Dispatcher I/II position in the Sheriff’s Department performs a variety of difficult work in the provision of 24-hour-per-day, seven-days-per-week public safety emergency dispatch service, including all 911 communications. Emergency Dispatcher I is the entry level class in the Emergency Dispatcher series.  It differs from Emergency Dispatcher II in that the II level is fully trained as a dispatcher and may provide training for the Dispatcher I. This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Receives incoming calls from the public; determines type of assistance required, including law enforcement, fire or ambulance personnel, etc., and dispatches emergency and non-emergency radio and telephone communications to appropriate jurisdictions and agencies.
• Operates a law enforcement 911 communications network.
• Maintains radio communications with field personnel as necessary to relay messages and information, and to determine the location and safety of field personnel.
• Performs a variety of clerical duties as required, including but not limited to answering business telephones; processing and/or maintaining department records, including case files; compiling information and statistics for reports; preparing criminal history reports; entering/cancelling/retrieving data on computer; ordering supplies, copying and filing documents, etc.

The County of Glenn is seeking an Assistant Director of Public Works who is a strategic, collaborative, and confident leader with effective communication skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead complex engineering projects that provide essential services throughout Glenn County. Reporting directly to the Public Works Director, the Assistant Public Works Director will serve as a project manager for a variety of public works and capital improvement projects, including the design and construction of roads, bridges and storm drainage infrastructure.

THE POSITION:

Under general supervision, the Shelter Volunteer Coordinator assists in the planning, organization, implementation and review of the Animal Care Volunteer Program; assists with recruiting, training, scheduling and evaluation of volunteer staff; performs community liaison functions, coordinates public relations activities; humane education programs and performs related work as required.
