PAL (Police Activities League) Program Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: PAL Program Attendants work with Suisun City’s PAL Program and with area teenagers ages 13-19 to implement educational and recreational activities: tutoring, sports, games, mini-excursions, competitions, contests, seminars, and special events, and provide general support to the program’s Recreation Supervisor. We’re looking for highly motivated people with a customer service orientation who genuinely enjoy helping others and who are flexible problem-solvers.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Recreation Leader II (After School Coordinator) position provides high-level program support and services through the Parks and Recreation Department, which provides concrete, positive experiences for youth and promotes qualities essential to raising successful young people.  

Town ASEP (After School Enrichment Program) is designed for the Town’s elementary school students, providing daily activities and childcare. This position requires minimal supervision and includes the responsibility of ensuring that students are safely escorted to their After School Programs once school ends. 

This position may also work additional seasonal events for the Parks and Recreation Department throughout the year. 

This position is budgeted at 15-20 hours/week. A general schedule will be set, but the candidate needs to remain flexible to meet the program's needs.  

Start Date / Training Dates: August 25, 2025 
Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM. 

Program Dates: September 2, 2025 – May 31, 2026.

 EXAMPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position will serve as the main point of contact for students and act as a liaison between the Los Perales Elementary Faculty and the Town’s After School Enrichment Program.

• Provide communication via email and text with Parents/Guardians

• The position will have a home base at Los Perales Elementary, though the ability to stop by the Hacienda before/after shifts may be needed from time to time.

ABOUT THE POSITION: This position will receive immediate direction from the Management Analyst II. They provide a variety of clerical support and perform a wide range of customer service-related tasks in a fast paced, high touch environment. The Department

The Library and Community Services department is responsible for providing excellent customer service through recreational, educational, and cultural programs for children, adults and seniors. THE POSITION

To monitor City facilities during programs and rentals; to open and close facilities; to set up and take down equipment; to provide information and assistance to the public in person and on the phone; to perform general administrative tasks when assigned; to perform certain custodial duties; to ensure user compliance with policies, regulations, and laws pertaining to facility use; and to perform other duties as assigned. The purpose of this recruitment is to fill current temporary/part-time positions.

Temporary / Part-Time employees work no more than 130 hours per month

AND 960 hours per fiscal year.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Experience:  At least one (1) year of experience in resource management, parks & recreation, or other relevant customer service positions.

License and Certificates:  Possession of a valid California Driver's License is required upon hire.

About the Position:  The Farm Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and construction tasks at Deer Hollow Farm in the Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. Deer Hollow Farm is an educational, working farm with cows, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, and other livestock.  Duties include performing maintenance and construction tasks using hand and power tools, operating and maintaining Farm vehicles, and assisting with daily Farm operations. The Farm Maintenance Worker will also assist with basic support and care of animals; greet visitors and provide information to the public; and work with volunteers on farm-related projects. Qualifications:

If there is more than one part to an examination, candidates must pass each part. Candidates with passing scores will be asked to compete in successive parts of the examination.

• Written Test/Practical Exercise:  A written test and a practical exercise may be used, in addition to the appraisal interview. 
• Appraisal Interview:  A job related appraisal interview will be conducted to evaluate and compare participating candidates’ knowledge, skills, and abilities in relation to those factors which job analysis has determined to be essential for successful performance of the job.
• After the Appraisal Interview, the top candidates will be invited to a staff interview.

          All applicants will receive a written response to their standing in the selection process.

NOTE: THE DISTRICT DOES NOT REIMBURSE APPLICANTS FOR TRAVEL, LODGING, OR OTHER EXPENSES RESULTING FROM THEIR PARTICIPATION IN THE SELECTION PROCEDURE.
