The Position

The City of Fremont is seeking a full-time Urban Forestry Service Corps Supervisor. This position is temporary, starting January 6, 2025, and ending December 19, 2025. This position works five days a week supervising and instructing small cohorts of Urban Forestry Service Corps members through a combination of in-class learning and in-the-field service projects. This position reports to the city Urban Forestry Manager.

Program Assistant - Receptionist

DEFINITION

Perform a wide variety of general clerical and/ or operational support duties at the Danville Community Center and/ or Senior Center. Incumbent serves as the facility receptionist, assisting with customer service-related questions and issues, and directing callers and visitors according to established procedures.

SUPERVISION

San Mateo County Health- San Mateo Medical Center seeks well-qualified candidates for the position of Program Coordinator I in the Patient Access Division. The current vacancy is a full-time, limited term vacancy. The duration of the assignment will last about 6 months.

 

Under the direction of the Patient Access Manager, the Program Coordinator will provide support to over 150 Patient Services Assistants across various departments, including Emergency, Admitting, Long-Term Care, Same-Day Surgery, and will average 27 Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) sites with 8-16 hours of weekly program refresher training on several publicly sponsored coverage options.

The Position

POLICE ASSISTANT

DEFINITION

The Police Assistant is a civilian, non-sworn, uniformed position that is responsible for a variety of customer service-based interactions with the community. Duties include non-hazardous enforcement of municipal parking laws and regulations as well as clerical front counter tasks related to phone and walk-in contacts at the police department.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives general supervision from the Administrative Assistant. Projects are assigned, and the person usually works with very little supervision. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

• Handle confidential administrative duties at the front desk. Greets telephone callers and visitors to department; screens and handles inquiries of a general or specific nature; takes messages.
• Takes information from the public regarding thefts, accidents, lost and found property, and other incidents that do not require the presence of a sworn law enforcement officer at the scene; completes standard police reports for review by staff supervisors or sworn supervisory staff.

This position provides support, mentoring, education, skill-building, advocacy, and youth-guided programming to persons receiving services at the Community Drop-In Youth TAY Center located in the Behavioral Health Division at the Glenn County Health and Human Services Agency. The incumbent will work as part of Behavioral Health with the Transition Age Youth Team delivering outreach/engagement and supportive service to youth and families on school campuses, in the community, and/or at the TAY Center. Individuals between the ages of sixteen and twenty-four (16-24) years of age are encouraged to apply. Included in the parks and recreation areas are tennis and pickleball courts, dog parks, softball diamonds, picnic areas, playgrounds, soccer fields, a skate park, shared use of a performing arts center and open space.  The City of Menlo Park is preparing to open a state-of-the-art new facility that will incorporate a community center, gymnasium, aquatics center, senior center, youth center, and branch library in 2024.
