THE POSITION
Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill two (2) full-time vacancies for the position of Peer Support Specialist I/II (PSS) within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP). Tri-City’s MCCP is a 24/7 mobile crisis response team with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays. Weekend and night shifts will be entitled to Shift Differential Pay of $2.50 per hour on weekdays (Monday through Friday) and $3.50 per hour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Holiday shifts will be entitled to Holiday Pay.
Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as a Peer Support Specialist I/II on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Peer Support Specialist will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Peer Support Specialist will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.
This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Respond to client's (Full-Service Partnership and Adult and Children’s Outpatient Programs & other specialty mental health services) crisis calls with or without law enforcement;
- Perform field-based & telephone emergency mental health evaluations & crisis stabilization in accordance with agency procedure;
- Provide crisis intervention & stabilization services to individuals, groups, and families;
- Identify treatment needs & make appropriate referrals for necessary services;
- Perform triage & linkages to non-client community members in the Tri-City catchment areas.
- Provides peer-to-peer support services in the office and/or in the field including, but not limited to outreach, support, encouragement, guidance, advocacy, & referrals to external resources & services for clients & their families; builds rapport with clients & their families through sharing stories of lived experience and recovery.
