THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill three (3) full-time vacancies for the position of Psychiatric Technician I/II within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP). Tri-City’s MCCP is a 24/7 mobile crisis response team with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays. Weekend and night shifts will be entitled to Shift Differential Pay of $2.50 per hour on weekdays (Monday through Friday) and $3.50 per hour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Holiday shifts will be entitled to Holiday Pay.

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as a Psychiatric Technician I/II on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Respond to client’s (Full-Service Partnership and Adult and Children’s Outpatient Programs and other specialty mental health services) crisis calls with or without law enforcement;

• Perform field-based and telephone emergency mental health evaluations and crisis stabilization in accordance with agency procedures;

• Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals, groups, and families;

• Identify treatment needs and make appropriate referrals for necessary services;

• Assist clients and relatives with understanding behavioral health problems and their reaction to them;

• Work on a multidisciplinary team for crisis response.

• Perform triage and linkages to non-client community members in the Tri-City catchment areas.

• Perform critical incident debriefs at the request of a community partner.

• Ability to respond to a mobile crisis in the community catchment area (Pomona, Claremont, and La Verne) within 60 minutes of disposition.

• Follow up with clients who receive mobile crisis services and collaborate with the client's treatment team for warm hand-off.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to calls during assigned shifts including: after regular business hours, late evenings, overnight hours, and on weekends; field work may be required.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for one (1) individual to serve as a Psychiatrist I/II for the Adult Outpatient Clinic. The Psychiatrist I/II will provide medical and psychiatric treatment and diagnostic services to clients in the caseload of Tri-City and provide collaborative work with a multidisciplinary team in a public mental health agency. Provide integrated, effective, and high quality behavioral health care to the residents of Pomona, Claremont and La Verne with moderate to severe functional impairment due to mental illness.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Perform intake and diagnostic interviews on a scheduled and emergent basis.
• Participate in diagnostic staff evaluation of clients.
• Provide medical psychiatric treatment of clients.
• Maintain and disseminate medical records and reports in compliance with Federal, State and Agency regulations, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, Public Law 111-005 (“HITECH Act”).
• Submit required statistical and other requested information on a timely basis.
• Consult and provide information to other agencies that are coordinating their work with that of the behavioral health service agency.
• May serve on Utilization Review Committee, Medication Review Committee, and chair Peer Review Committee as assigned.
• May conduct specialized research, special studies, and services.
• Provide medical consultative services to the behavioral health services staff; lead team conferences and provide clinical direction in unit(s) to which assigned.

OASIS is community field-based mental health services provided to older adults at their place of residence. This home visit services include medication evaluation and monitoring, individual counseling/therapy, and case management. This multiple discipline team with language capacity in English, Spanish, and Chinese, consists of Psychiatrists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists, a Community Mental Health Nurse, and a Peer Support Worker. Services are available to San Mateo County residents age 60 and over with issues of mobility and mental health conditions that impact their day-to-day functioning.  

Clinicians will use evidence-based approach to perform assessment, diagnosis, make medical necessity treatment plans, case management, individual therapy, and work with family members of clients' and other community providers for clients' mental health follow-up care needs. These interventions are provided in field setting or in clients' place of residence, and/or as needed to clients who are living in the community.

Clinicians are committed to providing medical necessity treatment that supports the clients' goals of independence and self-sufficiency with other service providers' support to continually live in the community with better quality of life. General Description

• Attend required agency meetings and professional training.
• Attend community meetings, participate in task forces and committees as assigned.
• Conduct classes and give presentations to community organizations as assigned.
• Conduct services where client is most comfortable and are most appropriate including office-based sessions, field based, hospital, telehealth, school and home-based sessions.
• May provide clinical supervision to entry level interns or trainees, training and assistance to other staff or volunteers.
• Utilize departmental electronic health record and billing system MyEvolv.
• May be required to work other than business office hours.
