THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill three (3) full-time vacancies for the position of Psychiatric Technician I/II within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP). Tri-City’s MCCP is a 24/7 mobile crisis response team with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays. Weekend and night shifts will be entitled to Shift Differential Pay of $2.50 per hour on weekdays (Monday through Friday) and $3.50 per hour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Holiday shifts will be entitled to Holiday Pay.

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as a Psychiatric Technician I/II on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Respond to client’s (Full-Service Partnership and Adult and Children’s Outpatient Programs and other specialty mental health services) crisis calls with or without law enforcement;

• Perform field-based and telephone emergency mental health evaluations and crisis stabilization in accordance with agency procedures;

• Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals, groups, and families;

• Identify treatment needs and make appropriate referrals for necessary services;

• Assist clients and relatives with understanding behavioral health problems and their reaction to them;

• Work on a multidisciplinary team for crisis response.

• Perform triage and linkages to non-client community members in the Tri-City catchment areas.

• Perform critical incident debriefs at the request of a community partner.

• Ability to respond to a mobile crisis in the community catchment area (Pomona, Claremont, and La Verne) within 60 minutes of disposition.

• Follow up with clients who receive mobile crisis services and collaborate with the client's treatment team for warm hand-off.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to calls during assigned shifts including: after regular business hours, late evenings, overnight hours, and on weekends; field work may be required.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for one (1) individual to serve as a Psychiatrist I/II for the Adult Outpatient Clinic. The Psychiatrist I/II will provide medical and psychiatric treatment and diagnostic services to clients in the caseload of Tri-City and provide collaborative work with a multidisciplinary team in a public mental health agency. Provide integrated, effective, and high quality behavioral health care to the residents of Pomona, Claremont and La Verne with moderate to severe functional impairment due to mental illness.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Perform intake and diagnostic interviews on a scheduled and emergent basis.
• Participate in diagnostic staff evaluation of clients.
• Provide medical psychiatric treatment of clients.
• Maintain and disseminate medical records and reports in compliance with Federal, State and Agency regulations, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, Public Law 111-005 (“HITECH Act”).
• Submit required statistical and other requested information on a timely basis.
• Consult and provide information to other agencies that are coordinating their work with that of the behavioral health service agency.
• May serve on Utilization Review Committee, Medication Review Committee, and chair Peer Review Committee as assigned.
• May conduct specialized research, special studies, and services.
• Provide medical consultative services to the behavioral health services staff; lead team conferences and provide clinical direction in unit(s) to which assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. 

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.

• Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.

• Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.

• Performs routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure; completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.

• Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.

• Works with clients to address stressors and barriers to treatment and/or social functioning; identifies and focuses on client strengths and personal resources to effectively engage and treat client.

The Clinical Therapist will report to a Clinical Supervisor.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.

• Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.

• Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.

We are currently looking for a Clinical Therapist I or II to work on our MHSSA Grant Team within Tri-City's Child & Family Clinic. This position will be a part of a 3 year - federally funded MHSSA Grant Team set to end in 2026. A Clinical Therapist I/II provides behavioral health clinical intervention and recovery services to assigned clients and their families; develops treatment plans and performs individual, group, and family psychotherapeutic counseling, routine and emergency assessment, crisis intervention, and related treatment services; manages an assigned caseload of adults, juveniles, and/or children; provides 
consultation to other staff, programs, and agencies related to treatment needs and plans; and 
performs related duties as assigned. 

The Clinical Therapist I/II position will report to a Clinical Supervisor I and will work on a multidisciplinary team consisting of other Clinical Therapists and Mental Health Specialists in partnership with the school and families.

These positions are responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

•  Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients. 

•  Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances. 

• Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.

•  Performs crisis intervention for clients and walk-in non-clients; evaluates individuals to identify level of stable behavior; provides support and assistance in problem resolution; coordinates or arranges for the provision of appropriate care services; and places holds as necessary within scope of authority. 

• Attends and participates in a variety of meetings, staff trainings, utilization and peer review activities, clinical supervision and case consultation, and public information and education functions.

•  As a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, provides critical clinical input related to client diagnosis and recommended treatment; presents findings and clinical observations; and makes recommendations for additional services. 

• Maintains and submits accurate, detailed, and thorough documentation, case records, and notes of all billable and non-billable activities and services related to client care; completes necessary documentation for billing purposes.

•  Provides resources and referrals to address basic needs and other barriers to wellness and recovery including food, housing, clothing, transportation, and other financial resources. 

•  Maintains client confidentiality in compliance with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) regulations.

• Observes and complies with all Authority and mandated safety rules, regulations, and protocols. 

•  Performs related duties as required.

We are now actively recruiting for one (1) part-time Behavioral Health Advocate I position within our Wellness Center, Tri-City's community hub for activities that promote recovery, resiliency and wellness for people confronting mental health challenges. 

The Behavioral Health Advocate I position provides advocacy, guidance, feedback, outreach and support to help families to access and work more effectively with the systems involved.   These positions report to a Program Supervisor.

This position will perform the following essential duties, including, but not limited to:

• Provides peer to peer support services in the office and/or in the field including, but not limited to outreach, support, encouragement, guidance, advocacy, and referrals to external resources and services for clients and their families; builds rapport with clients and their families through sharing stories of lived experience and recovery.

• Encourages and supports clients to fully engage in services; provides outreach and assists clients in addressing and overcoming barriers to treatment.

• Prepares and facilitates a variety of wellness groups and group activities; monitors groups to ensure compliance with group rules and encourages client participation.

• Assists clients and families to understand behavioral health problems and steps to recovery.

• Serves as a role model to build and sustain connections and relationships with clients and the
  community.

• Accompanies clients to meetings and appointments to support their self-advocacy and facilitate better communication with service providers.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
