THE DEPARTMENT AND POSITION

The Department of Public Works is recruiting for a Street Maintenance Worker I/II to perform a variety of manual and semiskilled tasks involving the construction, repair, maintenance, and cleaning of streets, sidewalks, other concrete structures, storm drainage and related Public Works facilities.  The Street Maintenance Worker operates light power driven, hand-held, and "walk behind" equipment.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

• Performs manual and semiskilled work in street excavation and repair, asphalt laying, cold tar patching, concrete work, weed control spraying, street painting, street signing, and flushing, clearing and maintaining sewer and storm drainage pipelines, culverts, and pump stations.
• Uses shovels, rakes, other hand tools, jackhammers, asphalt saws, tampers, packers, dump trucks, rollers and spray equipment in the excavation, building up, patching and surfacing of streets.
• Performs or assists in finished concrete work by excavating and clearing areas, constructing forms, trucking and pouring concrete.  Performs or assists with concrete leveling, floating, and finishing.  
• Removes debris and assists in cleaning and clearing of sewer lines, catch basins, canals, pipelines, and pumping stations.
• Assists in maintenance, repair, or replacement of pumps, motors, valves, gates, and pipelines,.
• Prepares and installs traffic signs and related posts per specifications.
• Places traffic barriers and warning signs and directs traffic.
• Performs street painting and striping per specifications, using a variety of materials and related equipment. 
• Assists in emergency repairs of Public Works facilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Street Maintenance Worker I:

• Equivalent to graduation from high school to provide necessary reading and communication skills;
• Prior experience in the operation of power driven equipment or previous maintenance experience is desirable but not required.

Street Maintenance Worker II:

• Equivalent to graduation from high school.
• Two years of increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance and construction of Public Works facilities equivalent to the Street Maintenance Worker I.  

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Street Maintenance Worker I:

• Valid California Driver's License
• Must obtain a Class B license prior to passing probation

Street Maintenance Worker II:

• Valid California Driver's License
• Effective July 1, 2010, employees hired or promoted into the SMWII position are required to obtain a Class B license prior to pass probationary period, and participate in the DOT program.

• Operates spray equipment and uses manual tools to paint interior and exterior surfaces, equipment and facilities.
• Repairs metal equipment, recreational fixtures and furniture; fabricates frames and racks using acetylene and arc welding and brazing equipment.
• Prepares forms, sets rebar, pours and finishes concrete to repair or construct equipment and small building slabs, foundations, retaining walls, patios, repairs brick and masonry.
• Installs and repairs shake, asphalt shingle, and tar seal roofing.
• Removes and replaces window glass.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Facility Repair Worker II:

• Equivalent to graduation from high school.
• Three years of responsible experience in building repair and maintenance with at least one year of experience in one of the trades.

Facility Repair Worker III:

• Equivalent to graduation from high school.
• Five years of responsible experience in building repair and maintenance equivalent to the Facility Repair Worker II classification at the City of San Rafael.
• Knowledge of building codes and necessary permits related to building maintenance tasks.
• Possess strong computer skills with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Office.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate for Deputy Building Official is a highly skilled, knowledgeable, and dedicated professional with a deep understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction practices. You are an excellent communicator; able to comfortably connect with contractors, architects, planners and the public. You must be a thoughtful problem-solver in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will have substantial experience in the building inspection field, ideally within municipal or governmental roles, demonstrating expertise in overseeing building inspections, applying building codes, and ensuring compliance with safety, accessibility, and environmental standards. This position requires a demonstrated leader who is able to manage and mentor a team in a productive and forward-thinking manner.

The Senior Building Inspector is a skilled, knowledgeable, and dedicated professional with a proficient understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction practices. You will be responsive and analytical; and be effective in a fast-paced and dynamic settings. You will have 7-10 years’ experience in the building inspection field, ideally within municipal or governmental roles, demonstrating the ability to lead and mentor, expertise in overseeing building inspections, interpreting building codes, and ensuring compliance with safety, accessibility, and environmental standards. You will have relevant certifications in building inspection, such as ICC (International Code Council) Certified Building Inspector, or similar.

• Graduation from high school or equivalent based on courses taken from an accredited educational institution.  Associate of Science degree in Building Inspection or related field is preferred.  
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in building inspection, including commercial, of which at least two (2) years must be in a supervisory capacity.  

Senior Building Inspector

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent based on courses taken from an accredited educational institution.  
• Associate of Arts degree preferred AND five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in building inspection, including commercial inspection and/or plan check experience, of which at least two (2) years must be at the full journey level or above.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Both Positions: Maintain a Valid CA driver’s license.

Deputy Building Official

Must maintain ICC certification in at least three of the following areas: commercial building inspector, combination building inspector, electrical inspector, plumbing inspector or mechanical inspector.  These certifications are required at time of hire. In addition, Plans Examiner certification from ICC is required, but may be obtained within 6 months of hire. 

Senior Building Inspector

 Building Inspector certification from International Code Council (ICC) or equivalent is required. CASP certification is highly desirable. Possession of a Commercial Building Inspector or Building Plans Examiner certification from ICC is desirable.  Certification as a Commercial Building Inspector must be obtained within one year of appointment as a condition of continued employment.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking to fill vacancies for a Psychiatric Technician I/II for the Adult Outpatient Program/Adult Full-Service Partnership (FSP) Program. The Psychiatric Technician I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community by providing all manner of adjunctive medication support services. The Psychiatric Technician I/II will report to the Medication Support Team Supervisor and the Crisis & Medication Support Manager and work a 9/80 schedule.

Psychiatric Technician I: This is the entry-level classification in the Psychiatric Technician series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform routine medication monitoring, administration, and support, while learning Authority policies and procedures. 

Psychiatric Technician II: This is the journey-level classification in the Psychiatric Technician series. Positions at this level are distinguished from the Psychiatric Technician I by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Under the direction of clinical staff, provides medication management services to a caseload of clients in the office and in the field; ensures the proper acquisition and administration of medication.

• Provides education and training to clients, their families, and/or staff on the proper care and use of medications, including symptoms of, reactions to, or side effects of, specific medications; informs clients of the impact of abuse and/or misuse of medications.

• Conducts home/field visits to evaluate client’s physical environment and behavior such as anxiety, withdrawals, and behavioral health progression/regression.

• Takes and records measures of clients’ vital signs, physical condition, and behaviors; assists and observes clients self-dispense medication as prescribed by a psychiatrist and administers scheduled injections.

• Conducts medication checks on clients to assess their overall medication management capabilities; takes appropriate action if client poses danger with respect to the use or abuse of medication; observes, evaluates, records, and reports to professional staff changes in client’s condition.

• Motivates clients to develop self-reliance in daily living; encourages clients to participate in group and/or individual therapy/program activities.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: Facility and Sports Field Attendants work behind the scenes making all Recreation and Community Services excel!  This job entails setting up for events and rentals, cleaning the facility and performing light maintenance duties.  We’re looking for highly motivated people with a customer service orientation who genuinely enjoy helping others and who are flexible problem-solvers.

Marina Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center, and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: Marina Attendants provide assistance and information to marina customers, in person and by telephone; perform marina related inspections and boat checks including seaworthiness boat checks and improvement verifications; perform boat measurement and appearance inspections; monitor dock conditions, check seawall and other dock infrastructure, and clear debris from Suisun City waters; perform impound and auction related activities; interpret, apply and explain policies, regulations, codes and procedures relating to slips, moorings and dock structures; assign space for visiting vessels, calculate and collect fees; maintain inventory and operate marina equipment. Tri-City Mental Health Authority is looking for a Bilingual Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) within our Therapeutic Community Garden (TCG) who will facilitate/co-facilitate Therapeutic Community Garden (TCG) groups, community outreach, curriculum development, participate in community events and presentations, garden events and establish relationships and collaborate with outside agencies. Will provide behavioral health support services to individuals in need of and requesting behavioral health services for both adults and children. The Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) will report to the Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Facilitate and/or co-facilitate therapeutic support groups in a garden setting and virtually using mindfulness techniques;
• Perform community outreach internally and externally;
• Create and develop curriculum for the TCG Program;
• Contribute to monthly program report writing;
• Process incoming and outgoing referrals for TCG;
• Work on a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery;
• Create and develop TCG workshops for the community;
• Assist in maintaining data related to activities performed by TCG team
• Maintain records of all activities relating to client care and adhere to billing standards.
• Will complete garden related tasks in the garden such as planting, weeding, watering and harvesting;
• Perform other duties as assigned, etc.
