The Position:

This is a professional position in the classified service assigned to work in the City’s Electric Utility Department. The incumbent will manage and operate Windows Server, Active Directory, HP Synergy Compute Modules, SAN / LUN Administration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major work in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

Four (4) years experience with real-time energy management systems involving development, implementation, and management.

Acceptable Substitution:

Additional qualifying experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education, up to a maximum of four (4) years.

License/Certifications:

Possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license is required at time of appointment and for the duration of employment.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience with Remote Terminal Units (RTU’s), microprocessor based relays, Distributed Network Protocol (DNP), and ABB Network Manager – S (SPIDER) Energy Management Systems (EMS), VM Ware, virtualization, SAN/NAS storage, and IBM Blade Centers is highly desirable.
   
• Experience using Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems is highly desirable and may be required depending upon assignment.

Other Requirements: 

• May be required to work unusual hours and weekends in the performance of their duties and  be available on an “on call” basis.

The Community Development Department strives to enhance the community’s safety, welfare, quality of life, and economic opportunities by providing advanced planning, development review, permitting and inspection services, as well as administration of programs related to affordable housing. The Position:

The Combination Inspector is responsible for performing the building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical inspections.  Each Inspector may be assigned to one or more of the following Programs or specialties: Code Enforcement, Building, Electrical, Permit Center, and Plumbing & Mechanical.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Education Requirements:

Graduation from high school or possession of a G.E.D.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

Five (5) years of experience as a journey person in the building construction or related trades

OR

Three (3) years of experience as a Combination Inspector in a city or county inspection jurisdiction

OR

Possession of a State of California license as a general (B-l) or electrical (C-10) or plumbing (C-36) or heating, ventilating, air conditioning (C-20) contractor for a minimum of two (2) years

Acceptable Substitution:

License/Certifications:

Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license is required. 

Certification by the International Code Council or other recognized agency, as a Building, Electrical, Plumbing, or Mechanical Inspector is required within one (1) year of appointment and for continued employment in this class

Desirable Qualifications:

Certified Access Specialist (CASp) certification is desirable

The Code Enforcement Officer will respond to citizen concerns and proactively identify violations such as property maintenance issues, and zoning infractions. You will educate the public on code requirements through clear and respectful communication and work collaboratively with other city departments and external agencies to resolve issues. The Code Enforcement Officer is distinguished from the Supervisor by performing work of moderate difficulty and more routine tasks and duties assigned to this position within this classification series. These tasks involve inspections and enforcement of applicable ordinances pertaining to residential and commercial properties, housing, building construction, and other related regulations. Additionally, the Code Enforcement Officer will issue notices, citations, and follow up on compliance efforts in a fair and consistent manner. It is also imperative that the Code Enforcement Officer maintain accurate case files and documentation for possible legal proceedings.
