THE LINCOLN POLICE DEPARTMENT

THE POSITION

The Police Captain reports to the Chief of Police and serves as the Department’s second-in-command. Receiving general direction from the Chief, the Captain is responsible for exercising direct supervision over sworn and non-sworn management, supervisory, technical, and administrative support staff through subordinate levels of management and supervision. The Captain’s direct reports are a Lieutenant, a Detective Sergeant, and a Dispatch/Records Supervisor. Key job functions of the Police Captain role include planning, directing, managing, coordinating, and evaluating the work of all major divisions of the Police Department; developing, recommending, and administering policies and procedures; continuously monitoring and evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; assessing and monitoring workload, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; and managing and participating in the development and administration of the division’s budget.

The City of Patterson’s Public Works Department is seeking one (1) full-time Water Operator I, II, or III position.   Duties include, but are not limited:  inspecting and repairing water meters and water service lines; monitoring and recording meter readings of water consumption levels; testing backflow protection devices and performing related adjustments as needed; collecting and transporting water samples for lab analysis; conducting bacteriological testing and monitoring chlorine levels; coordinating and monitoring construction and improvement projects; inventory and ordering parts; programing pump stations.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Library and Recreation Department is comprised of two divisions, Library and Recreation & Childcare, that are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of San Rafael residents. The Department’s mission is to enrich the community through discovery, learning, and play, and strives to maximize the delivery of strategically aligned programs and services to provide the highest value for the community.

The Library Division operates with a $4.4 million budget and 22 full-time employees in fiscal year 2024/2025. The San Rafael Public Library consists of three branches—Downtown, Pickleweed, and Northgate—and is part of the MARINet consortium. Exciting projects include a $3 million modernization of the Downtown branch, set for completion by July 2025, and a $2 million renovation of the Pickleweed branch, with construction beginning in August 2025. Additionally, the City is planning a new, joint Library and Community Center at Albert Park, while also focusing on operational improvements and championing innovative library programs and services.

THE POSITION

The Senior Library Assistant performs the most complex paraprofessional library work; assists patrons; implements programs, outreach, and marketing; supervises volunteer or part-time staff within a designated service area; and provides lead direction to other Library Assistants.

• At least four (4) years of experience comparable to the Library Assistant classification series at the City of San Rafael.  
• College level course work in library science is desirable and may substitute for up to one year of the required experience.

• While possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License is not required, incumbents may need to report to different job sites and travel to offsite outreach, events, etc.

The Dixon Fire Department is looking to fill one, full-time regular position of Fire Administrative Analyst. This position provides administrative support in the fire department environment including management of records; office management; reception; research; budget preparation; document preparation; project management; and supervision.

This is the primary administrative managerial position in the fire department environment, reporting directly to the Fire Chief. It requires a considerable degree of initiative, independent judgement and tact in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters. Exercises full supervisor responsibility for the work of technical and clerical positions.

This recruitment is for Fall Events and Activities such as Bocce and Volleyball Referee, Chili Cook-off, A Toast to Sausalito, and other fun classes, activities, and events. The City of Sausalito is recruiting for part-time temporary help for the fall season of recreation activities and City-wide events.  The first of these is the Bocce League referee.  

Bocce Referee
As a Sausalito Parks and Recreation Bocce Referee, you are responsible for set-up, management, and cleanup of scheduled Bocce matches. You are the enforcer of rules, an impartial judge, and an advocate for fun and fair play, all while maintaining a positive attitude and providing a friendly environment when communicating with teams and keeping score. This position reports directly to the Recreation Supervisor.  The ideal candidate must meet all minimum requirements as listed below and be confident and capable of dealing with conflict and intense games.  

Event Staff

As a Sausalito Parks and Recreation Event Staff member, you are responsible for actively participating in set-up, cleanup, and management of your assigned event.  You must arrive on time and remain until the event leader releases you after the event.   Event staff may set up chairs, tables, stages, corridors, and barriers.  You may be asked to perform traffic control or direct drivers to parking.  The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, meet all of the minimum requirements below, remain calm under pressure and in the face of adversity, be cheerful, friendly, and love the diversity of people.
