DEFINITION:

The City of Union City’s Community and Recreation Services Department is seeking passionate, motivated, and certified fitness professionals to join the Mark Green Sports Center (MGSC) team as Group Exercise Instructors and/or Personal Trainers. This position supports the City’s mission to promote health, wellness, and community engagement through high-quality fitness programs. Trainers and instructors work in a supportive, community-based environment — with no commission-based quotas or sales pressure. Instead, our Fitness Coordinator assists in client promotion, class opportunities, and professional growth through internal referrals and member engagement. Group Exercise Instructors may join our substitute roster and may be assigned to teach classes aligned with their certification and experience as openings arise.

The City of Orinda Parks and Recreation Department seeks qualified individuals with the passion and desire to work with youth campers as a summer Camp Counselor (Recreation Leader) in the Parks and Recreation Department.   This position takes direction from the Camp Director and Camp Coordinator (Recreation Program Specialist) and reports to the City's full-time Recreation Coordinator.

INTERVIEWS:  In-person group interviews will occur on Monday, April 13 from 4:30 - 6:30 pm OR Wednesday, April 15 from 4:30 - 6:30 pm.  Please be prepared to attend one of these pre-set interview times.

MANDATORY TRAINING:  Must be available for paid training on Saturday, May 30, 2026

SUMMER CAMP SEASON:  Must be available for summer camp season June 1 - August 7, 2026

WORK HOURS:  Work hours vary depending on the number of staff and youth participants.  Approximate work hours are Monday through Friday 8:45 am to 4:00 pm and Extended Care from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

Incumbents of the position will provide their own transportation to program site(s). 

Essential Duties:

Camp Counselors (Recreation Leaders) are assigned to the summer day camp programs working with children ages 3 1/2 to 12 years old.  They assist, plan, organize and lead the physical, recreational and social activities of assigned recreation programs under direction of the Camp Director (Recreation Program Specialist) and the Recreation Coordinator.  

• Bring energy and enthusiasm to the camp environment every day.
• Safely and appropriately supervise campers at all times.
• Plan and lead arts, crafts, games and sports according to the theme of the week.
• Serve as a mentor and role model to campers by modeling positive behavior at all times.
• Use positive discipline with campers and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
• Effectively collaborate with fellow camp staffers and Parks and Recreation Department staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

All City of Orinda employees are expected to uphold and exhibit the City’s core values including serving the public, being respectful and accountable, maintaining professionalism, and demonstrating responsibility.

Education: Must have completed at least ninth (9) grade by the start of camp.  Coursework in recreation, sports, administration, human development, education or related field is preferred.  

Experience: Recreation, athletics and/or education experience is desirable.  Experience teaching and/or working with children and youth age twelve (12) and under is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED training and/or certification are required prior to the first day of camp.  There will be a CPR, First Aid and AED training on the May 30, 2026 Training Day.

Special Requirements:    Appointments to this position are contingent upon:

• A valid work permit issued from school (if under age 18 and have not graduated from high school or received a State Certificate of Proficiency).
• A post offer, pre-employment live scan criminal history check (over 18 years), drug screen, physical and TB Test required.  Please note that if under 18 some processes may require legal guardian consent.

DEFINITION:

The Music Instructor is responsible for providing quality music instruction to participants of varying skill levels in a positive and engaging environment. This position requires strong knowledge of music techniques and the ability to plan and deliver lessons that meet individual participants’ needs. The instructor will plan, prepare, and implement music lessons tailored to each participant’s abilities and goals, teaching music theory, aural skills, and practical techniques to individuals and groups. They will also prepare participants for performances or showcases as part of the program, select and acquire appropriate teaching materials and resources, and motivate participants to achieve continuous progress. AHA is seeking to fill the Asset Management Specialist position in the Property Operations Department. The Asset Management Specialist performs a variety of specialized technical work in support of the Housing Authority’s asset management and property operations functions. Conducts operational monitoring and asset management analysis by supporting portfolio performance tracking, capital project planning, compliance reporting, and financial review. Provides responsible and professional assistance to the department team, and performs related work as required.

Experience with LIHTC or HUD compliance, property management accounting and/or asset management, and Yardi software are desirable.

DEFINITION

Under the direction of the Transit Manager, the Transit Analyst II is responsible for carrying out a variety of analytical and technical assignments; and working on administrative and operational activities, analysis and special projects in support of Union City’s transit programs and services.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

This is the experienced-level class in the Transit Division. Work given to an incumbent in this class involves various tasks including, but not limited to, scenario planning, performance-based planning, financial forecasting, regional policy research and analysis, transportation demand management, general analysis and development of transit programs and services, research of new trends in public transit and comparing how Union City provides service delivery, and participation in coordination events or meetings on behalf of Union City. Incumbents in this class perform advanced analytical work while following City and departmental policies while exercising the performance of more complex duties. The Transit Analyst II has general knowledge of the operating procedures and policies of transit and/or transportation planning. The Transit Analyst II is distinguished from the Transit Analyst I in that it is the full journey-level, professional class in the division and works more independently.

• Evaluates general planning, operations, and activities of the City’s public transit programs (fixed route, paratransit, and micro transit).

• Work with other City departments, other transit agencies and other public agencies to provide adequate transit amenities, service levels, service coordination and transit or transportation mitigation measures.
• Use, review, and recommend web-based programs designed to provide information to the Computer Assisted Dispatch and Automatic Vehicle Location (CAD/AVL) systems used to track vehicles and provide information to the region’s 511 system, provide service planning, and can generate the required versions of the general transit feed services by the region and state.
• Researching and responding to public complaints and inquiries; participating in the design and implementation of administrative procedures.
• Provide general assistance with the Public Works Department.
• Perform related duties, responsibilities and assist in special projects as needed.

Sausalito Parks and Recreation is Seeking Vibrant Skilled Recreation Leaders 

This recruitment is for spring, summer and fall events and activities beginning March 9th, such as Bocce and Volleyball Referee, Jazz and Blues, Fourth of July, Chili Cook-off, A Toast to Sausalito, Halloween and other fun classes, activities, and events. Ideal candidates will be available to referee Monday through Thursday each week and/or to staff events on Friday evenings from June through August and occasional Saturdays. 

Pay: $16.90 - $17.90/ Hr.

The City of Sausalito is recruiting part-time temporary help for the spring, summer, and fall seasons of recreation activities and City-wide events.  The first of these is the Bocce League referee.  

Bocce Referee
As a Sausalito Parks and Recreation Bocce Referee, you are responsible for set-up, management, and cleanup of scheduled Bocce matches. You are the enforcer of rules, an impartial judge, and an advocate for fun and fair play, all while maintaining a positive attitude and providing a friendly environment when communicating with teams and keeping score. This position reports directly to the Recreation Supervisor.  The ideal candidate must meet all minimum requirements as listed below and be confident and capable of dealing with conflict and intense games.  

Event Staff

As a Sausalito Parks and Recreation Event Staff member, you are responsible for actively participating in set-up, cleanup, and management of your assigned event.  You must arrive on time and remain until the event leader releases you after the event.   Event staff may set up chairs, tables, stages, corridors, and barriers.  You may be asked to perform traffic control or direct drivers to parking.  The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, meet all of the minimum requirements below, remain calm under pressure and in the face of adversity, be cheerful, friendly, and love the diversity of people. 

The minimum requirements for the position are:

• Reliable transportation to and from games or events
• Ability and commitment to arrive on time and remain until duties are completed and you are released

• Commitment to long hours, days, evenings, or on weekends depending on the assigned event schedule

The City of Newark is seeking an energetic and committed Associate Civil Engineer to perform professional civil engineering work related to the planning, review, design, construction, inspection, and coordination of a variety of public works projects. 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

• Meet and confer with developers, contractors, engineers and the general public relative to city policies, regulations, and procedures.
• Attend Development Review Committee meetings on designated entitlement projects and present and coordinate Engineering issues with other City departments.
• Recommend and prepare conditions of approval for Planning entitlement projects.
• Review private and public development improvement plans and subdivision maps for compliance with state and local codes, regulations and standards, and compliance with the requirements of project approval.

• Perform work in accordance with local, State, and Federal standards and regulations

• Attend Alameda County Cleanwater Program committee meetings.

• Schedule and track progress of land development projects.

• Prepare staff reports, as well as presentations for City Council, and other legislative bodies; respond to the public and other inquiries orally and in writing.

• Develop Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and participate with other department staff in the selection of consulting engineers.

• Serve as Project Engineer on Public Works capital improvement projects and transportation engineering tasks as needed.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field. 
• Three (3) years of civil engineering experience, including one year of lead responsibility. 
• Registered as a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California.
• Possession of a valid driver license and a satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
