Minimum Qualifications:  

·   Age not less than 21-years-old at time of appointment to the rang of police officer

·   Equivalent to completion of an Associate's degree from an accredited college

·   Effective January 1, 2023, peace officers must be legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law.  There are no specific citizenship requirements per Senate Bill 2. California Government Code Section 1031(h) limits employment authorization documents to those consistent with Section 274a.2 of Title 8 of the Code of Federal Regulations.  Specific documentation requirements can be found on the I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification form issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Government Code section 1031(g) permits departments to adopt additional and/or higher standards.

The Position:

Police Officers perform law enforcement and crime prevention work; control traffic flow and enforce state and local regulations; perform investigative work; participate in and provide support and assistance to special department crime prevention and enforcement programs and do related police work as assigned. THE POSITION

The main job of a Library Page is putting books, DVDs, CDs, and magazines back on the shelves and preparing the library for opening and closing. The ability to quickly and accurately sort things alphabetically and numerically is required. This is an ideal job for someone who enjoys organizing and who can work quietly on their own.

DEFINITION

Under supervision, sorts, shelves, straightens, relocates, and searches for library materials, re-orders and organizes materials as needed, provides basic directional information to patrons, performs basic circulation duties using computer software, performs physical tasks to support library programs and procedures, performs closing procedures, and does related work as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Sorts and shelves materials, assists at public service desks; inspects materials for wear and damage and does basic mending of same; keeps books and periodical shelves in order; assists in taking inventory of books; performs basic custodial tasks as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 Knowledge of: Basic clerical functions, principles of alphabetical and numerical filing, basic record keeping procedures.

Ability to: Sort material quickly and accurately in alphabetic or numeric order; follow oral and written directions; interact positively and cooperate with co-workers, respond politely to library patrons, work as a team member, function under demanding time pressure, respond in a positive manner to supervision, and attend work and perform duties on a regular and consistent basis.

Must be physically able to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, kneel, push wheeled carts, lift, reach overhead, go up and down stairs, and use a step stool.

Availability for evening and Saturday shifts is required.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Town of Atherton invites you to apply for the position of Associate Engineer in the Public Works Department. The position, general supervision, performs various professional field and office engineering work related to the management, planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the Town’s public works infrastructure, associated with the Capital Improvement Program (CIP); provides project management oversight, coordination and administration; conducts development plan reviews and inspections; confers with developers, contractors, and representatives of other agencies regarding facility and infrastructure development and maintenance; administers professional services and construction contracts; provides professional staff assistance to the Director of Public Works, other departments, and the public in areas of expertise; performs a variety of studies and prepares and presents staff reports; and assist in the development of the Department budget and monitors revenue and expense budgets on an ongoing basis.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

• Plans, manages, designs, and inspects all phases of civil engineering public works construction projects, including defining the scope of the project; coordinating with permitting and public utility agencies; applying engineering principles and practices to specific problems; coordinating construction schedules with other projects and agencies; preparing and reviewing cost estimates; and inspecting construction of projects to ensure compliance with construction documents; performs related planning and design work.
• Review of proposed private development projects; including issues related to public works, hydrology, grading, scheduling, traffic control, and erosion; prepares public works conditions of approval for proposed development.
• Reviews construction plans prepared by consulting engineers and private contractors; checks plans for conformance with regulations; reviews engineering calculations; participates in pre-design, construction, and coordination meetings and issues construction permits.
• Develops consultant requests for proposal for professional and/or construction services and the advertising and bid processes; evaluates proposals and recommends project award; administers contracts after award; ensures contractor compliance with Town standards and specifications, time and budget estimates; analyzes and resolves complex problems that may arise; recommends and approves field changes as required.
• Monitors and pursues grant opportunities for improvements in public works programs.
• Participates in the development of the Town’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP)
• Participates in the San Mateo County Cleanwater Program and assists with compliance and reporting associated with the Municipal Regional (NPDES) Stormwater Permit.
• Performs other related duties as required.

The Position:
This is complex lead level work involved in a central purchasing department related to the procurement of goods and services, including preparation of formal bid documents, facilitation of the activities of the bid process, selection of vendors, volume buying, inventory, assessing availability and quality of goods and services, and routine to complex procurements for the entire District according to prescribed methods. • Plans, coordinates and supervises daily operations in functional accounting areas, including the training, staff development, direction and evaluation of accounting and support staff
• Compiles financial data for internal and external audits as needed
• Coordinates required changes in district fiscal records, policies, and procedures, in conjunction with senior management and other staff
• Updates and drafts procedures as necessary
• Monitors and interprets federal and state regulations and guidelines and assures compliance with requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance or a closely related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Successful work experience of increasing responsibility that has included government fund accounting, financial analysis and reporting; project budgeting, planning, and design
• Experience in the coordination of workloads with people at various levels within an organization
• Skill in complex data research, analysis and reporting
• Skill in the use of spreadsheets and a variety of computer software to compose and prepare data analysis, reports, summaries, correspondence and other materials
• Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff
• Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication, including public speaking and persuasive communication

Physical Requirements:
This classification requires multi-level tasking and strategic planning, attention to detail and organization of financial data, active listening; individual to large-group communication, persuasion, good memory, tact, patience, flexibility and the ability to drive a motor vehicle to off-site locations in order to perform the essential functions.

THE POSITION

Library Aides provide customer service to library visitors. Duties include checking items in and out at the Checkout Desk, opening new library accounts, collecting fines and fees, shelving materials, and assisting library visitors in finding materials and using the computers. Other tasks may include processing materials, providing storytimes for children, and assisting with other public programs for children, teens and adults. This is an ideal job for someone who is friendly, computer savvy, enjoys working with the public, putting things in order, and is detail-oriented. Bilingual skills are desirable.

DEFINITION

Under supervision, to do library clerical, technical and customer service work, and related assignments as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Check materials in and out, sort materials, open new library accounts, explain library policies and resolve disputes, collect fines and fees, assist library patrons with self-checkout and public-use computers, printers, photocopiers, and scanners, answer routine information questions, complete opening and closing procedures, and perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:  Modern office and record-keeping procedures; use of office equipment and technology; numerical and alphabetical filing; basic mathematical principles.

Ability to: 

Provide excellent customer service; apply and explain library policies; communicate clearly, both orally and in writing; perform basic troubleshooting and assist patrons with computer use; adapt to changing technology and working conditions; learn the Dewey Decimal Classification System and library procedures; interact positively and cooperate with co-workers; function under demanding time pressure; respond in a positive manner to supervision; and attend work and perform duties on a regular and consistent basis. 

Bilingual ability (Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Tagalog) is highly desirable.

Must be physically able to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, kneel, push wheeled carts, lift, reach overhead, go up and down stairs, and use a step stool.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

The current monthly salary for this position ranges from $9530.23 - 11,584.05, depending on qualifications.
