Job Responsibilities:

• Performs high volume, high quality spay/neuter surgeries of shelter animals and owned animals including dogs, cats, and rabbits
• Determines the need for diagnostic procedures and medical treatments
• Provides high quality shelter medicine by performing physical exams, treatments, and surgical procedures on shelter animals
• Monitors and evaluates the shelter population for behavioral conditions
• Administers injections to humanely euthanize animals in accordance with California State Law and Department guidelines and policies

JOB DESCRIPTION

Plan, lead, and implement recreational activities for children 4-17 (primarily 5-12) years of age in recreational programs. Supervise program participants in indoors and outdoors settings

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (This is a general description of duties and is not all-inclusive)

• Plan, implement and lead age appropriate activities for children which may include: arts and crafts, dance, drama, games, sports, songleading, storytelling, field trips and special events
• Assist in setting up and taking down of equipment
• Supervise program participants indoors and outdoors
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions
• Assist Camp Director and/or Program Specialist in program development, scheduling special events and activities
• Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED

General supervision is provided by the Camp Director and/or Program Specialist and the Recreation Supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 15 years of age, 16 preferred
• Must have special skills in art, sports, science, theater, music and dance
• Must be able to effectively lead groups and provide an enjoyable experience for young campers
• Must have good organizational skills and reliably complete tasks in a timely manner
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to establish and maintain positive and productive relations with others
• Must be able to work in changing indoor and outdoor climates
• Knowledge of recreational principles and practices
• Paid or volunteer experience in a camp or recreational setting for school age children

Definition

To attend a Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) approved Police Basic Recruit Academy and successfully complete the academic and physical training required for appointment to the classification of Police Officer.

Distinguishing Characteristics

This is a trainee level classification which provides transition into the position of Police Officer. Police Officer Trainees are hired into this civilian position for the period prior and during the time they are assigned to a POST certified police academy. Upon successful completion of training at an academy and upon the availability of a Police Officer Recruit II position, Police Officer Trainees are sworn in and appointed to the classification of Police Officer Recruit II.

Supervision Received

Receives close supervision and evaluation on a daily basis by academy staff. Limited supervision by department training supervisor and/or manager during regular academy visits.

The Position

The Senior Landscape Architect will plan, supervise, and review the work of City Landscape Architect staff. The incumbent will: coordinate and oversee various landscape projects; perform professional landscape architect work in conjunction with the design and preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates for the development and rehabilitation of parks, landscaped areas and street beautification projects; inspect and review the work of developers and consultants for conformance with plans, specifications, and City requirements; prepare and administer grants and give professional advice on landscape matters.

The Police Department is recruiting for Veterinary Technician (Part-time/Benefited).

The Position

The Veterinary Technician will assist in the care of animal patients at the City’s animal shelter. Additional key responsibilities include use of medical care equipment, as well as moving and handling domestic animals and wildlife. The Veterinary Technician reports to the Animal Services Manager and assists the veterinarian, animal services officers and administrative team and is responsible for quality humane treatment of all animals in the care of the Tri-City Animal Shelter. This is an excellent leadership opportunity to provide high quality care for animal patients. The part-time Veterinary Technician will be working 20 hours per week.

The Ideal Candidate

The Fremont Police Department Animal Services is seeking a motivated candidate with experience working in a veterinary or shelter environment providing humane animal handling and restraint techniques of healthy, ill and fractious animals. Under the general supervision of the Program Director, we are seeking professional, passionate, and energetic individuals who can successfully manage a preschool classroom, develop lesson plans, and effectively promote emotional, physical, mental, and social wellbeing in a classroom environment.  The Holly Preschool program strives to create an environment inspiring each child’s individual creativity and self-expression. Children participate in arts/crafts, music, body movement, basic science, cognitive games, creative/dramatic play, cooking, circle and story time, fine and gross motor skill building, and phonics awareness. This is a classroom position, not an administrative/office position. 

The Recreation Specialist is a unique position that is primarily responsible for specific projects or long term projects requiring relevant knowledge and expertise.
