Experience:

• One year of Biological Nutrient Removal Treatment Processing is desirable.      

License or Certificate:

Valley Water is seeking an experienced Information Systems Analyst III to lead the deployment, administration, and long-term governance of Valley Water's new Enterprise Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS). This system represents the capstone of Valley Water’s Digital Transformation Strategy and will serve as the authoritative, enterprise-wide repository for all past, present, and future District documents and records.

This journey-level position plays a foundational role in establishing sustainable information governance practices across the organization. The selected candidate will lead complex system implementation efforts, oversee automated and AI-enabled data classification processes, coordinate secure access controls, administer retention schedules, and design defensible document destruction workflows in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Records & Library Services Unit (Position Code 988)

Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. Employment with Valley Water requires employees to live within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date.

 

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, typically working 40% remote and 60% onsite, after completion of the probationary period (one year).

Overview:

Are you an experienced Vegetation Maintenance professional with five or more years of experience and a valid Class A driver’s license? If so, we encourage you to consider this opportunity with Valley Water.

Maintenance Worker III is an advanced journey-level position responsible for operating a variety of light construction equipment in support of Valley Water’s maintenance and construction projects. This role provides agency-wide support for work on creeks, ponds, reservoirs, and other flood control facilities throughout the county.

Assigned to the Vegetation Field Operations Unit, this position performs a broad range of duties supporting Valley Water’s vegetation management programs. Responsibilities include vegetation control, integrated vegetation management, arboriculture, native plant revegetation, invasive plant management, and biotechnical erosion control on Valley Water properties.

This is primarily an outdoor position requiring work in varying and sometimes challenging environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and rain. Incumbents may also be required to respond to after-hours flood control emergencies, including nighttime callouts.

As a light equipment operator, the Maintenance Worker III must possess a valid Class A driver’s license to operate Valley Water commercial vehicles and to transport light equipment used in vegetation management and flood control projects. Daily equipment operation may include a compactor, water truck, tree truck and chipper, dump truck, and wheel loader. Equipment is used to haul vegetative debris, maintain native plant mitigation sites, support invasive plant management efforts, and assist with Valley Water’s sandbag operations.

This position also ultimately requires a Qualified Applicator’s Certificate (QAC) in Category C (Right-of-Way) and Category F (Aquatics) to mix and apply herbicides and calibrate spray equipment for vegetation control on Valley Water managed properties.

DIVISION ASSIGNMENTS AND TYPICAL DUTIES

Parks Maintenance Division with Public Works: Responsibilities may include trash collection, graffiti removal, weed abatement, irrigation repairs, and supervised operation of equipment such as blowers, weed/hedge trimmers, and mowers. Work supports the maintenance of City parks, landscaped areas, trees, and vegetation. 

 

Streets and Sewers Division with Public Works: Responsibilities may include trash collection, graffiti removal, clearing and repairing drainage facilities, street sign repair and replacement, road and curb painting, pothole and asphalt repairs, and related maintenance tasks.

 

Maintenance Division with SASM: Responsibilities may include assisting with maintenance of wastewater treatment equipment and facilities, supporting mechanical repairs, cleaning and preparing work areas, and helping ensure systems operate safely and efficiently. This assignment provides exposure to specialized tools, equipment, and processes used in wastewater treatment operations.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Under close supervision, the Seasonal Operations Aide provides entry-level support to an assigned department or division. This temporary role (up to 180 days) offers hands-on experience in operations, assisting staff with tasks such as maintenance, repair, cleaning, construction, and light equipment use. Duties may vary by program area and can include manual labor and tool handling.

Examples of Essential Job Functions (may include but are not limited to):

• Under direction, assist in the maintenance and upkeep of City facilities including but not limited to: parks, fields, SLP’s, streets, buildings, sewers, pools, playgrounds, and others.
• Under direction, assist in the construction or installation of City infrastructure such as curbs, sidewalks, paths, railings, stairs, signs, etc.

The Ross Valley Sanitary District is seeking a motivated Collection System Worker willing to learn new skills and work with cutting edge technology to join our team!

Collection System Workers operate and maintain sanitary sewer infrastructure while providing excellent customer service to the Ross Valley community.

ABOUT THE POSITION

CSWs perform a variety of skilled - journey level work and manual labor in the operations, maintenance, and repair of sewer lines and related mechanical, hydraulic and hand-operated equipment. Collection System Workers are on a 9/80 schedule - Monday through Thursday from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm, with Fridays alternating between 6:00 am -2:30 pm and off work. All Collection System Workers also work on a rotating “on call” basis.

SAMPLE DUTIES OF THE CSW CLASSIFICATION INCLUDE:

• Participate in inspecting, cleaning, maintaining, constructing, and repairing of wastewater collection systems utilizing a variety of mechanical and specialized equipment including, but not limited to, rodders, CCTVs, high velocity cleaners, vacuum trucks, construction equipment, and related equipment.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and support both enterprise and utility-specific network infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Cisco technologies. The incumbent plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of the organization’s overall network environment, including the SVP’s utility communication and control systems.
 
In this role, the Network Administrator is responsible for administering and monitoring network services, managing a variety of advanced network and security products—including, but not limited to, Cisco firewalls and intrusion prevention systems- and maintaining compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requirements as well as applicable state and local mandates. • Five (5) Years of Hands-On experience within an enterprise environment as a Network Administrator, Network Engineer, Sr. Network Engineer, Network Architect, or equivalent, preferably within a NERC-CIP regulated public utility.
• Experience administering Cisco ASA & FTD Firewalls, Core Switches, and Edge Routers
• Experience administering HP Aruba Switches and Wireless Controllers
• Certifications: Active (non-expired) professional certifications such as Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE), Palo Alto (PCNSE), HP Aruba, Azure Cloud, and/or industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CompTIA Security+, GIAC, etc.).  Proof of active certifications must be uploaded with your application submission.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

• Expert knowledge of Cisco IOS, NX-OS, and Cisco firewall administration.
• Expert knowledge of STP, VTP, DTP, HSRP, and GLBP
• Proficient at Layer 3 routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.

Overview:
The Grants, Compliance, and Claims Management Unit with Valley Water is the centralized unit for seeking and managing grants brought in to help fund Valley Water projects. The pre-award side of work within the unit will be administered by this Senior Management Analyst, with support from a Management Analyst II, and oversight by the Grants Unit Manager.
 
Senior Management Analyst (SMA): Core components of the Senior Management Analysts work will include researching grant opportunities and writing grant applications; high levels of collaboration with project teams, grants liaisons in watersheds and water utility divisions, procurement, legal, government relations, capital improvement program, and communications; and tracking/reporting. The position will tie efforts into the two grant roadmaps (i.e. strategic funding plans), assist in preparing updates to the Board and staff via all employee communications, and aid in early compliance reviews (pre-agreement) to ensure Valley Water can meet grant terms and conditions. As a Senior, the position will help implement new grants management software on the pre-award side in coordination with the unit’s compliance and claims staff, assist in updating standard operating procedures, and work with the Unit Manager to clearly define rationale for which grants to pursue.

Management Analyst II: Core components of the Management Analyst II's work will include assisting the SMA in researching grant opportunities and writing grant applications, coordinating with project teams, tracking and reporting grant-related information, assisting with compliance tracking for federal and state grant terms and conditions, and assisting with grant communications such as the bi-monthly Grants One Pager update for the Board of Directors and the Grants Action Team monthly meeting.

Ideal Training and Education:
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field.
Directly related experience may be substituted for the college requirement on the basis of one and one-half years of experience for one year of education to a maximum of four years.

Grants, Compliance, and Claims Management Unit (Position Code 68) 

Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. Employment with Valley Water requires employees to live within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date.  

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, typically working 40% remote and 60% onsite.
