The Department of Public Works is currently seeking to fill one full-time vacancy in the Engineering Services Division.

The Associate Construction Inspectors assigned to the Construction Management Services-Utility (CMS-Fee) Section is responsible for technical inspection services to ensure compliance with City and State Standards and Specifications.   The CMS-Fee Section supports the work being performed by utility companies to construct public infrastructure that will be operated and maintained by the City including storm and sanitary facilities, streets, curb/gutter/sidewalk, street lights, traffic signals, etc.   Typical duties of an Associate Construction Inspector in this section include, but are not limited to, the following: 

• Reviews plans and specifications to determine proper testing requirements and standards. 
• Inspects methods and materials used in the construction of streets, alleys, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, storm drains, catch basins, driveways, approaches, culverts, sewers, landscaping, etc. for compliance with plans. 
• Inspects actual field construction from rough grading to finished paving of streets, including installation of storm and sanitary sewer systems, concrete structures, utility installations, street lights, traffic signal systems, etc. 
• Schedules final inspections and recommends acceptance of projects. 
• Determines the acceptability of materials, especially when there is a question of inferior quality, including researching and reviewing records, logs, and data of various kinds. 
• Ensures conformance to Cal/OSHA safety regulations, including shoring of trenches, proper use of equipment and machines, and adequate public traffic control. 
• Employees may be required to lift test equipment, tools and construction materials with the use of proper equipment. 
• Performs Public Works emergency duties, such as flood watch when required. 
• Investigate and respond to construction inquires/complaints from other departments or the public. 
• Be a mentee for Senior Construction Inspector and assigned to specific inspection area.
• Be available to work various shifts; day, nights and weekends.

THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill vacancies for the position of Psychiatric Technician I/II (Licensed) within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP) for the night shift. 

Tri-City’s MCCP operates 24/7 to provide crucial support in mobile crises. As such, the schedule will involve a 3/12 shift pattern, consisting of three twelve-hour days per workweek and one alternating eight-hour day every other week. Shifts may include weekends, daytime hours, and holidays.

This position will first work a 5/40 schedule for approximately 3-6 months of training before transitioning into the night shift schedule.

Examples of night shifts are included below:

• Night Shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 7:00 PM - 3:00 AM, 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM, or 8:00 PM - 4:00 AM

Weekend and night shifts will be entitled to Shift Differential Pay of $2.50 per hour on weekdays (Monday through Friday) and $3.50 per hour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Holiday shifts will be entitled to Holiday Pay.

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as a Psychiatric Technician I/II (Licensed) on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but are not limited to, the following:

• Conducts medication checks on clients to assess their overall medication management capabilities; takes appropriate action if client poses danger with respect to the use or abuse of medication; observes, evaluates, records, and reports to professional staff changes in client’s condition.
   
• Motivates clients to develop self-reliance in daily living; encourages clients to participate in group and/or individual therapy/program activities.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to fill the position of Psychiatric Technician I/II whom will provide medication support services both in the field and at the office. This particular position is located within the Adult Outpatient Clinic and will report to the Medication Support Team Manager & the Medication Support Services Supervisor. The Psychiatric Technician I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community by providing all manner of adjunctive medication support services.

Psychiatric Technician I: This is the entry-level classification in the Psychiatric Technician series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform routine medication monitoring, administration, and support, while learning Authority policies and procedures. 

Psychiatric Technician II: This is the journey-level classification in the Psychiatric Technician series. Positions at this level are distinguished from the Psychiatric Technician I by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.

As part of the Engineering Services Division, Survey Section of the Public Works Department is responsible for delivering land surveying services on a variety of City projects including street widening/improvements, storm and sanitary facilities, library/community center/fire station sites, and airfield projects. These land surveying services include, but are not limited to the following: topography, property acquisition, construction staking, pavement marking layout, and monument preservation.

The Survey Section is currently recruiting to fill one (1) Instrument Person vacancy. An Instrument Person performs a variety of sub-professional surveying and engineering functions of moderate difficulty either on a survey crew in the field or in the Survey Section office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 

• Acts as instrument person on a survey party.
• Records field notes and prepares maps and sketches from survey data.
• Sets up, adjusts, and operates all types of survey instruments.
• Provides lead direction and training to other survey personnel.
• Uses modern, survey-grade Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment.
• Calculates grades and enters data into field books.
• Turns angles and extends horizontal line using a total station.
• Uses the level to obtain vertical control.
• Uses the level, total station, rod, targets to perform topographic surveying in order to describe the existing features of a piece of land in order that it may be reproduced as a plan map.
• Locates survey points by measurement, magnetometer and from maps of former surveys.
• Assist with transferring electronic field data to a PC workstation, processing and interpreting the data, and checking for errors.
• Assists with producing high-quality, computer-generated topography maps and tables using sophisticated engineering software.

This is the journey level class in a four class surveying series. This class differs from the next higher class of Survey Party Chief in that incumbents of the latter perform sub-professional surveying work and are usually responsible for completing only a segment of a surveying program or project.
