POLICE OFFICER - Academy Graduate - $8,419 to $11,416 per month (up to $13,128 with incentives)

The City of Pleasant Hill is currently seeking applicants for Police Officer Academy Graduate. We offer excellent pay, benefits, opportunities for promotion, as well as the opportunity to serve a great community that values the services we provide.

Police Officers can serve in patrol, traffic, investigations, and K-9 assignments. Other collateral opportunities include instructor positions (Firearms and Force Options Team), Regional SWAT, Mobile Field Force, 10851 Task Force, CSI, Regional Major Accident Investigation Team, Driving Team with firearms and force options team, Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), FBI Safe Streets Task Force, SET Team, Drone Team, Social Media Team, Community Resource Officer, School Resource Officer, and Field Training Officers. Specialty assignments may add an additional 5% pay. 

Officers work 12-hour shifts as part of a team concept. Shift schedules include 4-10 and 3-12, which may be changed periodically as job assignments may be rotated among patrol, traffic, and criminal investigation.  Night shifts include 5% additional pay. 

EDUCATION:

Academy Graduates (no sworn experience) - High school diploma and a minimum of 45 units of college-level course work, in addition to graduation from a P.O.S.T. basic academy.

Academy Graduate candidates with an honorable discharge may be credited with up to 15 semester units for a minimum of 3 years of active duty in the U.S. Armed Services (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard).

The Housing Authority is seeking a team-oriented candidate to plan and manage the asset management function of the Housing Authority’s real estate portfolio including the housing assets owned by AHA’s affiliates. The Senior Asset Manager conducts financial, physical and regulatory performance review; develops and monitors capital needs assessment programs; and reviews, recommends and implements financing or refinancing schemes at multi-family and tax credit properties, in addition to providing highly responsible and complex professional assistance to the Directors of, Housing Development and Property Operations. The Senior Asset Manager may supervise one or more junior staff.

AHA is particularly interested in applications from candidates with a strong track record in various aspects of the affordable housing industry including finance, development/rehabilitation, management and related real estate issues with an emphasis on asset management and financial and regulatory analysis. This is an exempt, at-will position. The Authority operates on a 9/72-hour biweekly schedule and is closed every other Friday.

Definition

To attend a Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) approved Police Basic Recruit Academy and successfully complete the academic and physical training required for appointment to the classification of Police Officer.

Distinguishing Characteristics

This is a trainee level classification which provides transition into the position of Police Officer. Police Officer Trainees are hired into this civilian position for the period prior and during the time they are assigned to a POST certified police academy. Upon successful completion of training at an academy and upon the availability of a Police Officer Recruit II position, Police Officer Trainees are sworn in and appointed to the classification of Police Officer Recruit II.

Supervision Received

Receives close supervision and evaluation on a daily basis by academy staff. Limited supervision by department training supervisor and/or manager during regular academy visits.

The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) is seeking an exceptional, process-orientated professional to serve as the Director of Housing Programs to assist with planning, organizing, managing, and providing administrative direction and oversight for all functions and activities of the Housing Programs Department which administers the various assistance programs the AHA operates. The City of Lincoln is hiring up to 12 Senior Recreation Aides within the Recreation Department. We are seeking candidates who demonstrate a passion for working with children, along with strong reliability, creativity, and enthusiasm.

Seasonal employees are limited to working no more than 999 hours in a fiscal year.

Under general supervision, performs a variety of frontline staff duties within the City Recreation Department and other related duties as required.

The Senior Recreation Aide is the advanced journey level class and is responsible for performing more complex assignments within an established procedural framework where there are consequences of error. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Recreation Coordinator by the performance of complex assignments and supervisory responsibilities.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED:

Receives supervision from administrative and/or management staff. Incumbents of this class do not routinely exercise supervision but those at the higher levels may be asked to supervise from time to time but not on a consistent basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  (include but are not limited to the following)

Duties specific to working as a Recreation Aide in the Sports arena:

• Assist with the following: set-up and tear down of program equipment, preparation of playing fields and routine facility maintenance.
• Keep statistics and accurate score for basketball, softball, flag football, soccer & volleyball.
• Collect and record the team’s lineups and assist officials during the game with specific rules and policies.
• Officiate adult & youth volleyball, youth basketball & youth flag football games.
• Uphold the rules of play and code of conduct.

Duties specific to working as a Recreation Aide in the Camp/General arena: 

• Develop and implement activities and programs for youth.
• Directly supervise children, monitor and redirect behavior, both on site and during trips.

Duties that pertain to both areas:

• Assist with the creation and distribution of advertising material for upcoming recreational programs and events.
• Assist with the distribution & collection of participant surveys.
• Demonstrate understanding of applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties.
• Establish positive working relationships with City management and staff, and the public.
• Assist with special events and perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Skill to: Be able to receive direction and follow oral and written instructions; have qualities such as reliability, dependability, creativity and enthusiasm; ability to develop effective working relationships with fellow city employees, children, and parents. Ability to work with children, a strong knowledge of sports programs and the rules or running recreational programs. The General Maintenance Worker plays a vital role in keeping our communities and centers clean, safe, and visually appealing. This position focuses on a specific set of tasks tailored to meet the needs of the Recreation & Community Services Department, differing from the broader responsibilities of a full General Maintenance Worker under the Public Works Department. The Recreation Coordinator or Recreation and Community Services Supervisor is the key point of contact for this position, providing general direction and/or supervision.

1. Field Preparation: Assist with basic field preparation for baseball and softball, including tasks like dragging the infield play area, marking chalk lines, and other essential setup activities.
    
2. Groundskeeping: Support keeping the exterior areas of community centers clean and presentable by removing trash and maintaining general tidiness. Assist with watering and care of indoor plants within recreation centers as needed.
    
3. Facility Cleaning: Perform light janitorial duties, including cleaning restrooms, fitness centers, and lobbies.
    
4. Events & Equipment Support: Assist with event setup and teardown once events are completed. Maintain special event equipment, furniture and supplies and promptly report any damaged or broken items to a supervisor for replacement.
