THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City is looking for a dynamic, energetic, team oriented full-time (40-hours per week) Library Services Supervisor to manage, direct and coordinate a work area of the Youth Services and Community Engagement Division.  This individual will also work closely with the Library Division Manager to plan and deliver library programs for youth, coordinate the activities of the Library Makerspace, create the weekly customer service schedule, supervise staff, assist with marketing projects and other duties as assigned. Position Summary

• Experience in group instruction and one-on-one training is highly desirable. 

 

Knowledge and Skills

This position requires a knowledge of general fitness principles, exercise techniques, and wellness practices, instructing and motivating individuals or groups in a fitness setting, excellent communication to provide clear instruction and positive feedback and assessing client needs and creating individualized fitness programs. The position also requires ability to operate and maintain fitness equipment safely. 

Special Requirements:

SALARY:  Step A ($120,598.79) to Step E ($146,552.90) annually. The Civil Rights Analyst reports to the Manager, Civil Rights Programs and is responsible for supporting the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and labor compliance programs with data entry, contract compliance, outreach, monitoring, and reporting. The Role:

The City of Redwood City is seeking Firefighters or Firefighter/Paramedics who, under direction of the Fire Captain, will perform firefighting and fire prevention duties aimed at protecting life and property, operate and maintain firefighting equipment, and provide basic medical assistance.  Firefighters also provide Basic Life Support first responder pre-hospital emergency medical care and emergency medical assistance, perform minor station maintenance, and participate in training to maintain skills.  Please see the Firefighter/Engineer job description for more details.

Required Qualifications:

A typical way to demonstrate the applicant possesses the required knowledge and ability may be obtained through the following ways:

1. Minimum of 30 semester college units.  Completion of college credits in the study of Fire Science or similar field.
2. High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D. or California Certificate of Proficiency).
3. Successful completion of a Firefighter 1 equivalent training program, or possession of a California State Fire Training Firefighter 1 certificate.

Required Certification and License:

1. Must possess a valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificate or valid Paramedic license.
