THE POSITION:

The City of San Rafael, Child Care Division is accepting applications for Child Care Aide to work in our School-Age Program.  We are looking for people who are available Monday thru Friday from 2:00 – 6:00 pm.  This is a great part-time position for someone who attends school in the morning.  No weekend work required!

This position performs the following essential job duties (including but not limited to):

• Assist Director and Instructors in planning and implementing activities.
• Assist in the supervision of children at the child care center or on outings/trips.
• Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and materials.
• Assist in the preparation and cleanup of snacks.
• Other related duties as assigned.

To be eligible for this position you must have knowledge of:

• Child guidance methods.
• Developmentally-appropriate practices and curriculum.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is actively recruiting to fill a vacancy for Clinical Supervisor I within the Access to Care Team ("ATC") and the Therapeutic Community Garden Team (TCG). This position will be responsible for supervising and assisting with both Access to Care and the Therapeutic Community Garden. Additional duties include, planning, organizing and directing the work of clinical, professional, & technical staff & providing behavioral health services to individuals & families. The Clinical Supervisor I position will report to the Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Coordinate, supervise, and direct the clinical, operational and program activities, inclusive of unit personnel, on a day-to-day basis to meet unit objectives;

 

• Provide individual supervision, documentation review, urgent intake assessments, crisis assessments, assist Clinical Program Manager with trainings and meetings, ensuring Network Adequacy and processes and protocols are followed;

 

• Assist with the supervision, oversight and development of the Therapeutic Garden Program.

 

• Assist with data collection and board reports for the Therapeutic Garden Program and Assess to Care Department.

 

• Consult with Clinical Program Manager regarding program goals, activities, policies, and procedures; make recommendations on programmatic, clinical and administrative policies; regularly update program policies and procedures; and implement and enforce policies and procedures.

 

• Supervise, train, evaluate, and participate in the selection of student interns, subordinate clinical staff, Behavioral Health Specialists and Clinical Therapists I/II; and initiate and participate in personnel actions in accordance with the Agency’s human resources practices and procedures.

 

• Make or review decisions on difficult client assessment and casework matters; supervise the timely and accurate submission of activity logs of assigned staff; and review caseload and task/needs reports for accuracy and timely changes & other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Wildfire Resilience Coordinator will manage projects related to the overall MRCA efforts regarding wildfire resilience, including tracking and analyzing existing funding sources related to wildfire preparedness and response, supporting staff project as defined by the early action wildfire resilience plan, coordinating with other MRCA and SMMC staff members working on wildfire related projects and programs, preparing and documenting further regional needs.

 

This position requires a highly motivated, responsible, organized and self-starting individual who can handle an array of tasks at the same time as part of standard workload, has good judgment and can make decisions, and works well independently and as part of a small team.

 

This is professional and technical work pursuant to the terms of grants, contracts, and applicable regulations, involving frequent communication with others. Project managers must also build community and political support, seek funding opportunities, actively cooperate with other government agencies and non­profit organizations, and keep abreast of related planning processes. The work performed will support MRCA’s capital Workprogram for wildfire resilience including improvements, workforce development, ignition prevention and suppression, inspection and monitoring and structure hardening and other MRCA efforts related to public access, open space conservation, habitat restoration, and urban park development. Special projects assigned or led by the Chief of Staff will be supported by this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Determine project scope, options, and alternatives to overcome constraints. Revise as often as needed to address unexpected conditions.
• Demonstrate proactivity to initiate and drive projects, leveraging past experiences, consulting with colleagues, and referencing relevant documentation to successfully launch and manage projects without established precedents.
• Oversee consultants and contractors, manage contracts, coordinate project team and collaborate with coworkers to ensure that the project scope is completed according to grant agreements, schedules, and cost limits. Assist in selection of consultants/contractors.
• Write and coordinate grant proposals and research new funding opportunities for wildfire resilience and workforce development related planning efforts.
• Cooperate with other team members to accomplish project goals; provide support to coworkers on other projects.
• Produce written materials including staff reports, text for publication, proposals, progress reports, and a variety of other documents.
• Write comprehensive reports based on samples, summarizing and analyzing information to provide clear conclusions in the sample's format and style
• Maintain positive relationships with coworkers, representatives of other government agencies, non-profit organizations, homeowner's associations, and the public at large.

Physical Demands

Offices at the River Center are spread among multiple buildings and floors.

 

Public Contact

As public parklands, the majority of MRCA properties are open to the general public during operating hours. This position will have contact with members of the public in public areas such as parking lots and shared public/office restrooms, and during public meetings.

The Seasonal Wildland Firefighter will protect agency parkland and resources and performs a wide variety of skilled park construction, maintenance, and patrol work; assists the public in natural resources interpretation and information; provides fire protection, suppression, vehicle and equipment maintenance. To protect visitors, park land and infrastructures and to insure a safe and peaceful environment for public usage.

The work performed will support MRCA’s operation in fire prevention and protection of life, property and resources within greater Los Angeles and beyond. Supervision

This position reports to the Squad Boss of their assigned crew. Assorted tasks may be supervised by others in the leadership structure, including other Squad Bosses, Captains, and Chiefs as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs extensive weed abatement to reduce fire hazards and for native revegetation; with use of tractor, chain saw, weed whacker, spraying herbicide or use of hand tools, in/on a variety of landscape types and topographies.
• Provides information to park visitors on park features, natural resources, historical interpretation, safety, and rules.  May lead interpretive hikes.
• Constructs and repairs park facilities such as fencing, restrooms, gates, kiosks.
• Install and maintain park water distribution and suppression systems.
• Directs volunteer crews such as trail crews, community service workers, and the volunteer Mounted Assistance Units. Coordinate with organized public groups utilizing park facilities.
• Assesses any natural or manmade hazards on parkland; warns public, removes or ameliorates hazards if possible.
• Maintains developed park grounds, facilities, trails; operates tractors, trucks, chain saws, other power tools needed for park maintenance.
• Assists crew personnel and others as directed.

• Protects park visitors and structures in wildland fire situations (visitor evacuation), operate pumps, fill tanks, hose layout, line-cutting, water and foam lay-down, etc.
• Assist in emergency search and rescue efforts on parkland, in a wide variety of terrain including steep slopes, canyons, and creeks. Coordinate action with the local authorities as necessary due to the nature of the emergency, i.e., brush fire, flood, etc.
• Coordinate with outside agency crews working on parkland.
• Perform heavy physical labor; including lifting and carrying items weighing up to but not limited to 90 pounds a distance of up to but not limited to 50 feet.
• Operate with substantial independence and coordinate work with others in completing assignments.

Occasional overtime work in evenings, nights,  weekends, and holidays upon prior approval by supervisor. This position will work out of Holiday Camp Fire Station in Calabasas but may be required to travel to various other locations.

The Department

The Suisun City Fire Department was established in 1861. The men and women of SCFD take great pride in the customer service that they provide to all who live, work and travel through Suisun City. SCFD is a mission-driven fire agency that remains focused on customers and safety. SCFD is a combination agency staffed with both full-time and volunteer fire personnel. We currently operate two Type 1 Fire Engines, one Type 3 Fire Engine, Ladder Truck, three Command Vehicles, one Type 5 Fire Engine, Zodiac Rescue Boats, and one USAR Trailer. The Suisun City Fire Department is an ALS (Paramedic) level department, supported by Medic Ambulance for transport services. Station 47 is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Position

The ideal candidate would know and be responsible for performance of the full scope of assigned fire suppression, fire prevention, emergency medical care responsibilities, and for the protection of life and property. New incumbents may have limited related experience but are expected to learn the full range of duties and responsibilities, perform duties with minimal direct supervision, and exercise sound judgment and discretion in making decisions. Firefighters work a 48/96 work schedule, comprised of two 24-hour shifts followed by four 24-hour days off, averaging 56 hours per week.

DEFINITION: Under general supervision, provide for the well-being and safety of children with special needs in a fun, summer camp environment.  Collaboratively with the wider Arts and Recreation department, we strive to have a meaningful impact on the lives of our participants while providing creative programs offered in an inclusive, fun, and innovative environment.

• Demonstrate excellent customer service and communicate effectively with co-workers, parents, and campers. 
• Possess strong leadership skills in one or more of the following areas: arts, crafts, sports, playground games, drama, songs/music, nature or special events. 
• Manage the task of checking in and checking out each child to the proper guardian. 
• Encourage good behavior and appropriate manners. 
• Encourage active play, read books and provide a safe and nurturing environment. 

• Ability to lead groups of campers in various day camp activities and help with transitions between activities.

The Police Officer's duties are to perform law enforcement and crime prevention work. Full-time permanent positions of Police Officers serve an eighteen (18) month probationary period.
