How You Will Make an Impact:

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant II to join our dynamic team. This role involves performing a range of complex and varied technical and professional accounting tasks, including auditing, analyzing, and verifying financial records and reports. The incumbent will play a crucial role in managing the financial activities of an affordable housing portfolio of about 30 properties. This would include the preparation of financial and statistical reports, coordinate annual audits, assist with budget preparation, and ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial statements.

Collaboration skills to work with property accountants who manage the accounting activities for the affordable housing properties. They must be adaptable, able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. A solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and strong data analysis skills are highly preferred, along with proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel.

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, or business, or closely related field; and

Housing Programs Specialist II

This position will serve as the primary contact for all applicants applying for housing assistance programs and the administration of rental assistance programs. The incumbent will perform technical and programmatic aspects, requiring the interpretation and application of regulations, policies, and procedures to determine the eligibility of program services, ensuring accurate processing of data, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 

What our Team is looking for:
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience likely to provide the required core competencies may be considered. A typical combination that is qualifying may include:

• An associate degree with coursework in liberal arts, humanities, social work, business, public administration, or a related field.
• Two (2) years of responsible experience providing direct client services including caseload management functions with an assisted housing or other social services program and customer service.
• A bachelor’s degree is desirable.
• Bilingual skills are desired, but not required.

ABOUT THE POSITION
If you are passionate about ensuring quality and safety in engineering projects and want to make a real difference in the community, we have an excellent opportunity for you. The City of Gilroy is currently recruiting a full-time Engineering Technician/Inspector at level I or II or III (depending on experience and qualifications) for the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department. The position will support the engineering staff with technical tasks for public works improvements, public works projects, and land development projects, and will entail a mix of technician and inspection duties. The goal of the Engineering Division is to promote a better quality of life for those who live, work, and visit the city of Gilroy through the provision of efficient engineering services and the creation of orderly growth and development within the city.

EXAMPLES OF ONGOING PROJECTS

• Provide inspection support to various Capital Improvement Projects, to include water and wastewater projects. 
• Coordinate inspection efforts with consultants and outside agencies.
• Process and review various public works permits.
• Administer the Sidewalk Repair Program.

NOTE: To foster teamwork and collaboration in the department, organization-wide, and in the community, this full-time position works on-site/in-person. Remote work is not an available option.
