Position Duties

The Fleet Management Division in Public Works Department is responsible for the management of the City’s fleet including comprehensive inspection, maintenance, repair, acquisition, and disposal. The City’s vehicle and equipment fleet currently consists of over 2,700 assets.

The Department of Public Works Fleet Management Division is recruiting to fill one (1) Equipment Mechanic Assistant I/II (EMA I/II) position. The EMA I/II is responsible for performing inspections, communicating with other staff and customers, servicing, installation of electronic electrical equipment, ordering parts, entering data in the fleet management system, road testing and diagnosing problems to make various repairs and adjustments on automotive, heavy truck and/or heavy equipment. While working under general supervision, the EMA I/II will be expected to perform safely and follow all rules required by the City of San Jose. These positions, depending on facility assignments, will require working various shift hours and overtime.

The Position:

The City of Santa Clara is seeking an experienced, energetic, and collaborative leader to serve as its next Senior Inspector supporting the daily operations of the Building Division. The Senior Inspector is a supervisory-level classification responsible for performing the most complex building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical inspections, while also providing guidance, coordination, and training for less experienced inspectors and support staff. Depending on expertise, incumbents may be assigned to one or more specialty areas, including Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Permit Center, or Code Enforcement. Experience in MEP plan review is highly desirable and may be used to fill one of the two openings.

• Certified Access Specialist (CASp) certification.
• Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience that includes supervising building inspectors.

Licenses/Certificates
 The following are required at time of appointment and for the duration of employment:

• A valid California Class C driver's license.
• Certification as a Building Inspector, Electrical Inspector, Plumbing Inspector, Mechanical Inspector, or Combination Inspector by the International Code Council (ICC) or International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), or equivalent.

Position and Duties

Senior Maintenance Workers perform under direction, plans, schedules, assigns, and reviews the work of large crews engaged in semi-skilled and skilled work in the maintenance and repair of parks, landscaping, and public facilities. • Plans, schedules, organizes, and assigns work based on work requests and the results of facility or field inspections, and requisitions materials for work completion. Creates, distributes, assigns, and assures completion of work orders and time on jobs; tracks daily activities and enters data into an automated system.
• Directs and participates in inventory and control of supplies, spare parts, and equipment for use in the work area.
• Supervises, provides lead direction, and participates in the accomplishment of projects in parks and recreation areas such as the construction of chain link fencing, fire breaks, steps and footbridges, landscaping, and seeding and planting areas; participates in the repair, maintenance, and reconstruction of parks, playgrounds, sports fields, and trails.
• Supervises and provides lead direction to staff in the operation and utilization of tools, equipment, and vehicles used in the performance of assigned work, including the use of safety devices and safe working practices.

The Community Development Department consists of three divisions: Planning, Building, and Housing and Community Services. The Department guides the ongoing physical development of the community, which includes long range land use planning, review of new development proposals and construction to ensure that it conforms to the standards of the City and State and ensures the provision of affordable housing with the City of Santa Clara. The Position: 

The incumbent provides high-level public information and community outreach services that require in-depth knowledge of public sector communications, website content and graphic design, and experience in managing and implementing creative and innovative promotions and projects.

This role is essential to centralizing the department’s communication efforts and ensuring that both internal and public-facing messages are strategic, consistent, and impactful.
 
The Communications Coordinator will be housed in the Technology and Communications Team and will be supervised by the Assistant Director. The Communications Coordinator will work across all divisions and will not only help streamline communications related to key initiatives and projects but also serve as an internal consultant, helping staff develop clear, effective messaging across all channels. This will enable the department to better meet increasing demands from the City Manager’s Office for improved web content, newsletters, and outreach efforts, while also promoting the department’s key initiatives and projects to a broader audience.

Under general direction, the Communications Coordinator coordinates and maintains content on the Department's website and intranet; implements and supports internal and external communication efforts; and coordinates social media and video communication activities. Position Duties

The Environmental Services Department is currently seeking to fill multiple full-time Wastewater Operator I/II/III vacancies at the San José - Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility (RWF).

Job Classification Overview - Wastewater Operator I/II/III

Under general supervision, performs a variety of work of routine difficulty involved in operation of the San José/Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility. 

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

• Inspects, operates, adjusts and maintains equipment in one or more areas of the wastewater treatment plant sections.
• Operates pumps, valves, motors, blowers, internal combustion engines, vehicles, and other related wastewater treatment process equipment.
• Reads and interprets SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) system, gauges, dials and other process instruments; recognizes and diagnoses alarms and other warning indicators and makes necessary process and equipment adjustments to maintain process integrity.
• Maintains records of instrument readings and performs process computations and graphing as required.
• Performs routine laboratory tests used in sewage treatment process; takes samples and performs various simple tests for process control.
• Removes solids, pollutants, and harmful bacteria from wastewater to make it less objectionable and more stable.
• Reviews and provides improvements to wastewater facility SOP and processes.
• Accurately completes work orders for use in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Other duties as assigned.

Assignments may be made to any shift in an around-the-clock operation, and incumbents must also be available for work on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays.

About the Data Operations & Project Support Team
The Housing Department’s former Data Support Division has transitioned into the Data Operations and Project Support Team, reflecting an expanded scope and growing role within the City. The team provides technical, analytical, and project management support across a wide range of housing and homelessness initiatives. This includes data integration with County partners, coordination for CalAIM, and administration of Salesforce systems such as Encampment Response Coordination System, the Rent Registry, and the Rent Stabilization Program. The team also develops and maintains the data feeds that inform the City Manager’s Office Focus Area Scorecards, which track progress on reducing unsheltered homelessness.

Position Duties

The Housing Department is currently seeking to fill one (1) full-time Information Systems Analyst vacancy in the Data Operations and Project Support Team.

Salary range for this classification is $141,894.48 - $172,885.44. This salary range includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.

Currently this position is primarily on-site with limited telework. In accordance with City policy, employees are required to work on-site a minimum of four (4) days per week (at least 32 hours) at the assigned work location in San José. Up to one (1) day per week may be worked remotely, subject to operational needs and supervisor approval. Remote work from outside of the United States is not permitted.

The Information Systems Analyst (ISA) will support the Department’s technology ecosystem that powers affordable housing production, asset management, compliance, homelessness response, and public-facing services. The ISA will perform systems and business analysis, administer critical applications, develop integrations and reports, and provide responsive customer support to staff while following City standards for security and data management. Representative duties include:

• Application Development & Customization: Gather and document business requirements; translate program needs into functional and technical specifications. Design and develop highly usable, accessible solutions by customizing platforms and leveraging modern programming languages. Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, implementation, upgrades, and ongoing improvements. Build custom applications, features, and integrations within the Salesforce platform to meet evolving business needs. 

• System Administration & Operations: Configure, administer, and support departmental applications (e.g., case management, grants/loans, document management, reporting tools). Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the Salesforce CRM and other core systems, including troubleshooting, resolving issues, and ensuring optimal performance. Stay current with platform updates, best practices, and industry trends to proactively identify opportunities for improvement. 

• Data & Integrations: Design and maintain integrations and data pipelines; develop SQL queries, datasets, and dashboards; perform data quality checks and controls. Plan and execute system changes and enhancements, coordinating testing, migration, and release documentation.

• Quality Assurance & Documentation: Execute structured testing and validation processes; ensure compliance with City standards for security and data management. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and user guides to support consistency and knowledge transfer.

• End-User Support & Training: Provide responsive user support, including ticket triage, troubleshooting, and service-level communication. Prepare job aids and training materials; conduct training sessions to build staff proficiency in using applications and data tools.

• Security & Compliance: Maintain role-based access controls, audit trails, backup/recovery processes, and incident response procedures to safeguard systems and data.

• Evaluation & Procurement: Evaluate software and hardware options; prepare recommendations considering cost, security, and fit; assist with procurement processes and vendor deliverables.

3. Retrieving, transforming, and presenting data in dashboards and reports; and,

Minimum Qualifications

Position Summary

Under general supervision of the Finance Director, the Finance Analyst supervises and/or performs highly responsible, complex, sensitive and professional level accounting and financial work in support of the City's various financial activities. THE POSITION: The Dixon Police Department is recruiting to fill full-time Police Officer positions at either the Academy Graduate Level or Lateral Level, as well as establish an employment eligibility list for future possible use. The City offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for qualified applicants pursuing a law enforcement career. Dixon Police Officers are responsible for a wide variety of generalist police services. Opportunities for specialization and advancement are also available. The Dixon Police Department operates on a 12-hour shift schedule.

SELECTION PROCESS:  Apply immediately and include all required documents at the time application is submitted.  Applications and supplemental questions will be reviewed and screened, and the most qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the examination process. The process includes a Personal History Statement (PHS) review, interview, Poly exam, extensive personal background investigation, credit history, pre-employment medical, with drug test, and psychological assessments.

Failure of any component during the exam process eliminates the candidate from further selection processing.
