Position Duties

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Repair of Rooftop package units, Air Handlers and split systems.
• Inspecting, repairing, performing preventative maintenance and routine testing of heating, cooling, air-conditioning, ventilating equipment and controls; and chiller and low pressure boiler maintenance.
• Servicing DX refrigerant and hydronic chilled/hot water distribution piping systems and components and HVAC units for
• commercial facilities.
• Repairing/replacing actuators, valves, compressors, controls, etc. in a refrigerant or hydronic piping system or HVAC unit.
• Using safe job practices, including wearing the proper PPE and making the job area safe before proceeding to work.
• Maintains cooling towers and sump basins as well as filtration systems.
• Responds to calls for emergency repair service.
• Maintains operating logs and related records.
• Replaces sub-assembly units; inspects safety cut controls.
• Performs other related work as required.

The Position

The Senior Landscape Architect will plan, supervise, and review the work of City Landscape Architect staff. The incumbent will: coordinate and oversee various landscape projects; perform professional landscape architect work in conjunction with the design and preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates for the development and rehabilitation of parks, landscaped areas and street beautification projects; inspect and review the work of developers and consultants for conformance with plans, specifications, and City requirements; prepare and administer grants and give professional advice on landscape matters.

A Dispatcher I is a civilian employee of the Police Department who performs a variety of tasks in the Department’s Support Services Division. The Dispatcher I receives incoming calls for police assistance and response; acts as a primary Dispatcher when appropriate; performs a variety of general support duties related to police communications; completes a wide variety of general clerical duties.

The Dispatcher I duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Answer emergency and non-emergency police related phone calls, help prioritize requests for service based upon available resources, receive radio requests and handle accordingly, type, process and file a wide variety of reports and materials including memos, letters, complaints, declarations, warrants, citations, crime and traffic reports.  Assists Department personnel and the public in person and by phone performing record checks, collecting fees and mailing requested reports to outside agencies in accordance with established regulations.  A Dispatcher I may be assigned to work various hours, shifts, holidays, weekends and overtime.

QUALIFICATIONS

A combination of education and work experience including 2-3 years of general office work involving typing of varied materials, public contact, general filing and basic record keeping; type at least 40 wpm net.  Knowledge of business English, spelling; modern office practices and procedures; record keeping. Ability to learn assigned clerical tasks readily and to adhere to prescribed routine; write English legibly; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public; type and learn the operation of other standard office equipment; a willingness to work varying shifts; and to learn radio dispatching skills. 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The City of Pleasant Hill offers a competitive compensation and benefits program.

• Salary:  $6,681to $8,612 per month. Placement in range depends on experience and qualifications. 
• Medical Benefits: Choice of coverage with Kaiser or Blue Shield. The City pays 80% of monthly premiums at each coverage level. In lieu of medical coverage, the City will contribute $400 (employee only coverage) or $500 (employee + 1 coverage) or $600 (family coverage) into a MissionSquare 457 deferred compensation plan.
• Retirement: CalPERS enrollment (PEPRA New Member 2% @ 62; Classic Member 2% @ 60).
• Dental & Vision Coverage: City-paid dental and vision coverage for employee and eligible dependents.

About the Division

Engineering Services Division is comprised of four sections: Construction Management Services, Structural Engineering and Code Inspection, Material Testing Laboratory, and Survey. This division provides technical support services for Capital Improvement Projects, development/utility permit projects, inspection oversight, Underground Service Alert (USA)services, land surveying, monument preservation services, field and laboratory testing, pavement design and evaluations, and building code inspection services.

The Land Survey Section provides land surveying services to Capital Improvement Projects and development permit projects; Maintains the City of San Jose's system of benchmarks; Provides monument preservation services for those monuments impacted by City improvement projects; and Technical map review services for subdivision maps within the City of San Jose.

Position Duties

Salary range for the classification of Chief of Surveys is:

$133,682.64 - $162,860.88 Annually. This range includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.

The Department of Public Works is recruiting for (1) Full-Time Chief of Surveys position to provide the following typical duties and responsibilities which may include but are not limited to:

• Supervises an office technical staff in the preparation of drawings, corner records, record of surveys, reviewing improvement plans and specifications, parcel maps and tract maps.

• Provides direction and supervises several field survey crews to locate property lines, gather data for topographic surveys and stake construction projects.

• Reviews, schedules, and assigns crews to survey projects; recommends methods and procedures to efficiently complete assigned projects.

• prepares time and cost estimates for requested survey work. 

• Reviews preliminary construction drawings to determine nature and extent of required survey work; participates in pre-construction, project scheduling, and other meetings concerning survey matters.

• Reviews, approves, or examines land surveying documents (maps, plats, reports, descriptions, etc.) under supervision of the Land Surveyor.

• Manages surveying staff including supervision, hiring, training and performance evaluations.

• Plans, coordinates, and schedules all office surveying activities.

• Sets and maintains standard practices for office surveying activities and quality control.

• Consults with public and private engineers, inspectors, and contractors relative to requested work and coordinates any necessary activities.

• Communicates with clients and the public and resolves issues that arise during field surveys.

• Performs map and document research for field and office survey projects.

• Interprets construction documents for construction surveys.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (General Educational Development [GED] Test or California Proficiency Certificate)

Experience: Eight (8) years of increasingly responsible sub-professional engineering/surveying work, including three (3) years at a level of a Survey Party Chief, Senior Engineering Technician, Senior Construction Inspector, or equivalent.

Acceptable Substitutions

Up to four (4) years (equivalent to 120 semester units or 180 quarter units) of undergraduate course work in college engineering, surveying, geography, and/or mathematics, or related fields, from an accredited college or university, may be substituted for subprofessional engineering/surveying experience on a year-for-year basis.

Certifications

Possession of a Land Surveyor-in-Training certificate and possession of a valid driver's license authorizing the operation of a motor vehicle in the State of California. - Land Surveyor's license is highly desirable.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is recruiting to fill the position of Senior Facilities Maintenance Specialist in the Administrative Services & Human Resources/Risk Management Department, Facilities Division.

In this exciting opportunity, the Senior Facilities Maintenance Specialist will work under direct supervision of the Facilities & Fleet Superintendent and will be responsible for maintaining and constructing all City buildings, structures, and park facilities. It requires someone who can work independently, collaborate effectively as part of a team, and has experience supervising or coordinating work and overseeing the performance of others.

The Senior Facilities Maintenance Specialist is distinguished from the Facilities Maintenance Specialist in that the Senior Specialist is expected to perform the more challenging and complex tasks and is expected to perform certain administrative functions in support of the Facilities Division. This role offers a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on work. You'll have the opportunity to lead initiatives that impact the community directly, such as energy efficiency upgrades, safety improvements, and facility renovations. These tasks include a range of semi-skilled construction and repair work involving the use of basic tools and trade-related equipment. Duties may involve repairing electrical equipment and wiring systems; fixing windows, doors, cabinets, and other building components; maintaining interior and exterior furniture such as tables, chairs, benches, and bookcases; performing general plumbing repairs and installations; and carrying out basic concrete and masonry work. 

Additionally, you must be able to diagnose mechanical problems and methodically troubleshoot any issues occurring with building systems, machines, and equipment. This role also serves as a trainer and provides leadership to the team on specific tasks and projects.
 

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department:

The Finance Department administers the financial affairs of the City of Santa Clara, including City-owned public utilities. The department is comprised of five divisions, Administrative Services, Budget and Treasury, Accounting, Municipal Services, and Purchasing. Together these divisions carry out the mission of the Finance Department to ensure that the financial/fiscal activities of the City are performed, recorded, and presented in compliance with professional and ethical standards.

The Position: 

The Finance Department is seeking to recruit a Senior Management Analyst in the Accounting Division to support personnel management, general accounting, and accounts payable. The Senior Management Analyst will also be involved in the financial analysis of special grants and fund accounting and prepare periodic and annual reports for the City, its Agencies and Corporations, and the annual State Controller Reports. The incumbent would be a contributor of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report which includes Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), basic financial statements including notes, and supplementary information.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong accounting background and possess a bachelor's degree in a related field. This position will be required to perform high-level technical support and complex financial analysis related to accounting. Responsibilities

• Manage professional, technical, clerical, and other lower level staff to include, prioritizing and assigning work; conduct performance evaluations; provide training; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. Desirable Qualifications

A Master's degree in Public or Business Administration or closely related field is desirable.

Certifications/Licenses 
 Possession of an appropriate, valid California Class C driver's license is required at time of appointment and for duration of employment.

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a Transportation Planner to help keep the Sunnyvale transportation network safe and efficient while planning for future growth. The position will mainly develop, launch, and manage the City's new citywide microtransit service. This includes coordination with the microtransit/shuttle service provider, with the internal Communications team on branding and marketing, and the grant program administration agency.  The position will also respond to citizen concerns and comments about the service, perform outreach related to the service, manage the program budget, ensure grant program requirements are met, and look for grants for future program funding.

Under general direction, this position may also assist in current and long-range transportation planning for the City. The position may also manage and review land development traffic studies; perform level of service analyses for intersections and arterials using computer models like Synchro, and Vistro; apply for grant funds; and perform other duties as assigned.
 
The City is seeking a Transportation Planner with strong project management, analytical, technical and problem-solving skills, along with proficient oral and written communication skills. The successful candidate will have an excellent ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams; the ability to prioritize and deliver results in a constantly changing environment; and a proven ability to establish effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and vendors.

The responsibilities of the City Attorney's Office consist of representing and advising the City Council and all City officers in all matters of law pertaining to their offices, representing and appearing on behalf of the City in all legal actions or proceedings, providing the City Council with information and advice regarding ongoing litigation and legislation affecting the City, and staffing City Council meetings and City boards and commission meetings as necessary. The City Attorney's Office provides legal advice and support on matters initiated by the City Council, City Manager's Office, and City departments, including review and negotiation of contracts, leases, licenses, policies, and Public Records Act requests responses.

The Office consists of eight attorneys and a Risk Manager, who are supported by a full time Legal Executive Assistant and Legal Office Specialist (recently added in the FY 25-26 budget), as well as a part time Office Assistant.

The Position: 

The Legal Executive Assistant position is in the City Attorney’s Office and provides support to the City’s attorneys, as well as the Risk Manager.  This is a critical administrative support role in the City Attorney’s Office that is responsible for assisting with a wide variety of legal documents, processes and procedures. The ideal candidate should possess a high level of confidentiality, communication skills, tact and discretion, and be able to manage and track multiple projects for multiple attorneys simultaneously.  

The Legal Executive Assistant is distinguished from other classes in the administrative support series in that the incumbent provides responsible, confidential, administrative support services for the City Attorney and other attorneys in the Office. The job involves working with individuals, activities, and issues with which the City Attorney’s Office is involved and requires daily contact with a cross-section of government, community, and public and private officials, as well as individual members of the community. The incumbent must be able to handle non-partisan confidential matters with a high level of judgment.

As a member of the City's Unclassified Service, this is an "at-will" position and the incumbent serves at the discretion of the City Manager.

Experience can be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, with one year of experience equivalent to either thirty (30) semester or forty-five (45) quarter units.

License/Certifications:

Desirable Qualifications: 

• Experience in law office procedures, including court calendaring, litigation procedures, file system organization, records retention and management, and workflow management
• Four (4) years of experience in a legal office setting highly desirable
• Public sector experience highly desirable

About the Position:  The incumbent will be part of a cohesive team of 15 in the Information Systems and Technology Department, which is part of the Administrative Services business line. The GIS Program is comprised of five fulltime staff, including this position, and an intern. The position serves as a technical leader within the department and advisor to field and office staff on data management, mapping tools, and web applications.
