The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Senior GIS Technician in the Community Development & Services Agency. This position provides lead direction and technical assistance to assigned staff and/or project management; performs a variety of technical office and field work duties that require specialized knowledge related to the creation and maintenance of maps, tables, graphs, and other geographic source data with the use of enterprise GIS, permitting, and asset management systems; provides technical support and queried data to department staff, other County departments, outside agencies, consultants, contractors, developers, and the public; and performs related work as assigned.

This position is the advanced journey lead/specialist level position that reports directly to the Public Works Director.

Examples of Duties:

• Provide direction and guidance as a lead worker regarding data collection and GIS utilization; may review the work of technical staff assigned to a variety of GIS duties; assist supervisor with training program and identifying training needs; provide staff training in the use of and applications of GIS information.  
• Perform accurate and timely updates to County GIS s files and data management records related to streets, sewer, water, and storm systems, asset inventory, plats, parcels, right-of-ways, easements, and data layers.
• Perform quality control checks to integrity of GIS data and applications; review and resolve conflicts in data; evaluate currency, usefulness, and completeness of data.
• Create, compose, modify, and edit GIS spatial and attribute data, export data for a variety of special projects.
• Produce maps, tables, and graphs for internal and external use; determine and execute the appropriate sequence of data processing tasks; use established GIS and permitting systems to query data and produce documents.
• Update and maintain GIS databases according to department’s policies and procedures; clean up data and make corrections in response to changes and additional data sets integrated into GIS.

The Fiscal Analyst I/II/III position at the Glenn County Community Action Division, performs varied and complex professional accounting and financial analysis work relating to various grants and programs; fiscal and contract management; fiscal program analysis and compliance; prepares analytical, narrative, statistical, accounting and financial reports; develops and monitors budgets; prepares financial statements and reports, and related duties as assigned. Fiscal Analyst II is the journey-level classification in the series and is distinguished from the Fiscal Analyst I by the responsibility and working independently with minimal supervision. Fiscal Analyst III is the advanced level and supervisory classification in the series, and is distinguished from Fiscal Analyst I/II by the performance of the most complex accounting and analytical work within the assigned department. This position is full-time and scheduled for forty (40) hours per week. 

Fiscal Analyst I: $26.45- $32.15 per hour

Fiscal Analyst II: $28.64-$34.81 per hour

Fiscal Analyst III: $31.63-$38.45 per hour

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Provides information for and prepares periodic accounting, fiscal reports, and analysis to internal units, federal, state, and local agencies and/or to private auditing firms as required by governing agencies. 
• Prepares reports and analysis on accounting activities relating to funds, grants, and programs. 
• Prepares various financial statements including worksheets, balance sheets, income statements, statements of cash flow, adjusting and closing balance sheets, depreciation schedules, allocation schedules, and cost reports.
• Monitors the status of various grants including analyzing the availability of funds, reviewing expenditures, and ensuring that activities comply with grant regulations.
• Participates in budget development and administration for a variety of department budgets; prepares cost estimates for budget recommendations; monitors and controls expenditures.

Under general supervision, a Police Officer is responsible for the performance of law enforcement duties to protect life and property in accordance with applicable laws, to carry out special assignments as necessary, and other related duties as assigned. A wide variety of assignments are available which include Patrol, Traffic, Narcotics, Detectives, Off-Road and Surface Street Motorcycle Patrol, Bike Patrol, Special Weapons Team, Crisis Negotiation Team, Canine, Background Investigations, School Liaison, Gang Suppression, Special Enforcement Section and Intelligence.

This position participates in a 4/10 work schedule. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements:

Candidates must have completed a California P.O.S.T. Certified Police Academy. Must be 21 years of age as of the appointment date, high school graduate or G.E.D., (as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education), and U.S. citizen or a permanent resident alien who is eligible and has applied for citizenship.

Out-of-State Candidates:

The California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) will conduct an evaluation of all out-of-state training. POST is the sole authority on applicable training and determines whether the candidate must attend an abbreviated academy, or a regular police academy. If an academy is required, the candidate will be hired as a Police Officer Trainee. Upon completion of the academy, promotion will be made to Police Officer.

Selection Process:

All qualified applicants will be invited to appear before an Oral Appraisal Board. Applicants passing the Oral Board examination will be placed on the eligibility list based on their Oral Appraisal Board rankings. Prospective employees will be required to pass a physical agility examination and undergo a thorough background investigation including a medical, psychological, polygraph and drug/alcohol screening.

The County of Yuba is recruiting for the position of Social Worker III/III Master’s Level in the Child and Adult Protective Services Division of the Health & Human Services Department in an effort to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. Under general supervision, incumbents are fully competent to independently perform the most complex and sensitive social services case work by providing a variety of services to County residents; identify, access and document abuse and neglect cases; provide counseling and support services to children and parents; refer clients to services; prepare detailed, complex court documents and testify in court as required; and perform related work as assigned. The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Civil Engineer in the Public Works Division of the Community Development and Services Agency. Under limited supervision, the Senior Civil Engineer will perform the more difficult professional engineering work including the preparation of civil design plans for various Public Works projects, conducting research studies, performing field inspections and testing, analyzing reports, maps, drawings, or geological data, and procuring permits; act as a resource to staff, contracts, consultants, other agencies and the public regarding areas of assignment; provide lead direction and technical assistance to assigned staff and/or project management; and perform related work as assigned. Incumbents are fully qualified to perform all duties specified as a Professional Engineer by the State of California. This is the master level in the civil engineer series, and reports directly to Principal Engineer.

Examples of Duties:

• Review plans and inspect projects; provide engineering design and code information and ensure that designs meet accepted industry and legal standards, and projects are biddable and buildable.
• Interpret and explain complex and technical laws, codes and regulations and provide information related to Public Works Engineering activities; may receive and respond to complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary.
• Initiate and maintain professional relationships with other departments, businesses, local community and professional organizations.
• Provide direction as a lead worker; expected to review the work of professional civil engineers and support staff to ensure compliance with established procedures related to design, construction and inspection of flood control, storm water management, water resources, bridges, parks, roads and other related projects as well as provide input on assigned staff performance to management; provide guidance to professional and technical staff.

Assistant Engineer: is the entry level in the civil engineer series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents will provide assistance to management staff or higher level engineers in the areas of research, data collection, project administration, preparation of reports and preparation of engineering plans and specifications. Assignments are intended to provide background in the fundamental principles and practices of public service engineering.

Associate Engineer: is the journey level in the civil engineer series. Under general supervision, incumbents independently conduct design, research and construction project inspection and analyses for a variety of projects within the county. Responsibilities may also include providing work direction to technical support staff.

Associate Civil Engineer: is the advanced journey level in the civil engineering series. Under general direction, incumbents perform professional engineer work and prepare civil design plans for various Public Works projects; independently conduct engineering feasibility cost, research and design studies and construction project work; analyses for varied department and agency projects and functions; signing off designs and as-built changes related to roads, bridges, culverts and other County infrastructure and perform related duties as assigned.
