Position Duties  

The Department of Public Works is recruiting to fill two (2) Building Inspector-Electrical Specialty, Combination Certified I/II/III/Senior positions within the Engineering Services Division, Code Inspection Section.   

Salary range(s) for this classification is/are:   

Building Inspector Combination: $110,881.68 - $134,862.00 

Building Inspector Combination Certified I: $114,157.68 - $138,705.84 

Building Inspector Combination Certified II: $117,215.28 - $142,877.28 

Building Inspector Combination Certified III: $121,910.88 - $148,512.00 

Building Inspector Combination Certified Senior: $138,225.36 - $168,473.76 

This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.   

The Building Inspector Combination/Certified I/II/III/Senior position will be located subject to business need. This position will provide inspection support at a variety of City of San José facilities, including the Airport, Regional Wastewater Facility and Central Service Yard.  

Key responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:  

• Conduct inspections of industrial, commercial, manufacturing, and facilities to ensure compliance with codes, regulations, ordinances, standards, and contract agreements which includes: setting up inspection schedules; gathering information and evidence; and, ensuring conformance to plans, specifications, and safety regulations.   

• Investigate building, construction, and land use changes in the field by: gathering factual data to ascertain present use of land and location of structures; conducting background investigations and research; and, preparing reports to use as evidence.   

• Provide technical assistance for development of codes and policies.   

• Generate written reports and enforcement orders which includes noting deficiencies in standards and submitting final documentation.   

• Review plans and specifications for compliance with codes which includes assisting in projects in complying with regulations, prioritizing deficiencies, and preparing timetables.   

• Provide technical support for agencies and the public which includes inputting data into system for general public access.   

• Meet with architects, engineers, City officials, and building contractors to discuss construction projects.   

• Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

Position Duties  

The Department of Public Works (DPW) is currently seeking to fill one (1) Principal Engineer/Architect position in the City Facilities and Architectural Services (CFAS) Division. This is a temporary (Overstrength) position that is anticipated to be funded through June 30, 2025, subject to further extension as appropriate. If this position is not extended through the budget process, the city may seek to place you in other internal job opportunities based on your previous work experience. 

Salary range(s) for this classification is $179,076.82 - $218,123.62 annually. This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.  

The Principal Engineer/Architect will support the Library Department (LD) in leading the coordination for the Library Facilities and Customer Experience Planning. This individual will play a key leadership role in driving critical infrastructure initiatives, including supporting the implementation of the California State Library Building Forward Infrastructure Grant projects and managing capital and facilities planning processes in collaboration with the LD and consultants. This individual will act as a leader, ensuring timely and effective project execution, and delivering results that meet organizational and state funding objectives.  

Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Principal Engineer/Architect will require the ability to extensively collaborate across the LD, the DPW, Planning, Building and Code Enforcement (PBCE) and other contractors/vendors, while maintaining adherence to budgets, timelines, and plans. Outstanding leadership, a high degree of accountability, and the ability to establish an excellent working relationship with all stakeholders are required to be successful in this position.  

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead the design and construction of major public works projects, in partnership with the Library Department.  

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, architects, technicians, and inspectors to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and consistent services. 

• Oversee engineering/architectural or other technical research; review, analyze, and prepare recommendations to Senior and Executive staff regarding project and/or program scope or objectives. 

• Direct and coordinate the preparation of cost estimates and project and/or program budgets; monitor budgets and schedules for performance. 

• Consult with Senior and Executive staff, contractors, other departments, and consultants to plan, design, and construct major engineering/architectural and/or other technical projects. 

• Direct and coordinate the creation, planning, and management of capital budgets and staffing plans to successfully deliver capital projects. 

• Oversee the planning and execution of the procurements of design consultants and construction contracts. 

• Partner with the department’s other executive staff to lead transformation, training, and other process improvement efforts in the City’s capital improvement program. 

• Prepare technical reports and correspondence as required.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. About the Sheriff’s Department :

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.

The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Fiscal Supervisor for Budget Services.   

The Fiscal Supervisor over the Court Budget Unit (CBU) in the Budget Services office plans, organizes, supervises, reviews, and evaluates the work of assigned staff responsible to support all aspects of budget development and implementation for the 58 trial courts. The Supervisor oversees the development of allocations and distribution of $3 billion annually to the trial courts and manages other budgetary processes and programs that support court operations. The Supervisor oversees the preparation of trial court financial documents and required reporting; provides technical fiscal assistance to the courts; reviews funding requests to ensure compliance with statute, budget authority, and Judicial Council policy; and related assignments for court leadership, Budget Services management, and the Judicial Council’s Executive Office. This position directs the work and staff activities that support the Trial Court Budget Advisory Committee (TCBAC) and various TCBAC subcommittees and work groups.

This position works independently with limited supervision and interacts with court leadership including presiding judges, court executive officers, local fiscal court officers, advisory committee and subcommittee members, leadership and management from other Judicial Council offices, and all units within the Budget Service office.

The County of Yuba is recruiting for both Extra-Help and Full-Time Juvenile Corrections Officers I/II, in an effort to fill current vacancies and expand staffing levels. These positions are located on the Tri-County Youth Rehabilitation Campus which falls under the Juvenile Institutions Division of the Yuba County Probation Department.  The primary responsibilities of this flexibly staffed position are to: provide care, custody, supervision, and control of youth housed in the secured detention facilities while they are pending legal action or serving a post adjudication commitment; ensure and sustain a safe and secure environment for youth; and coordinate counseling and behavior modification activities associated with the operation of the facilities.

About Detention Services & Yuba County:

Our Department believes people can change and we can be instrumental in supporting that change.  We are  a small workplace family that supports one another to accomplish our mission and allow our team members to live full lives outside the workplace. Our Campus provides youth detention services to the communities of Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties as well as several contract counties through our Camp Singer program.  We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, and includes the Tri-County Juvenile Hall, Secure Housing Unit, and Maxine Singer Youth Guidance Center (Camp Singer), under a Joint Powers Agreement between the three counties. Our Department is the administrative agency responsible for the management and daily operation of the facility. The City of Brisbane is currently recruiting for non-sworn Police Officer Trainee candidates. This is for individuals that have no prior law enforcement experience and have not received POST certified police academy training. Trainees are paid while attending a POST-certified Police Academy. The County of Yuba is currently establishing an eligibility list for the position of Victim Witness Advocate in the Probation Department. Under general supervision, assist victims and witnesses of crime by providing information, support, referral and advocacy services; monitor cases through the judicial system; conduct educational presentations regarding victim services; assist in completing victim compensation claims; and perform related work as assigned. This is the journey level in the victim witness advocate class series and is expected to exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment. Incumbents work initially under close supervision as they learn procedures and complex regulations and acquire the ability to apply the regulations. As experience is gained, an incumbent will work with more independence and carry an increasingly larger and/or more difficult caseload. 

Examples of Duties:

• Perform the delivery of supportive services to victims and witnesses, including crisis intervention, referrals to community service agencies, and follow-up services.
• Provide information regarding the criminal justice system, case status, restitution process and related information to victims and witnesses.  
• Interview victims of crime and/or their families to determine eligibility for Victims Program services; assist victims and their families with documentation necessary to file for compensation and restitution. 
• Make appropriate referrals to community agencies; refer clients to criminal justice agencies, public or private agencies to obtain supportive services; refer clients to professional counseling as needed; maintain contacts with other agencies regarding the status of individuals.
• Provide crisis intervention services such as immediate-needs referral for food, shelter, health care, clothing or protection.
• Arrange meetings with peace officers and attorneys; assist the Deputy District Attorney’s with interviews of victims and/or witnesses of a crime and provide an assessment of the victims’ reaction to crime, emotional state and ability and family dynamics.
• Maintain contact with victims and/or witnesses to coordinate court appearances; escort victims and/or witnesses to court; orient victims and/or witnesses for their participation in the criminal justice system; provide support during testimony at all phases of the trial process; obtain transportation services when needed; assist victims and their family during the court proceeding; keep victims and/or witnesses apprised of the status and disposition of cases; assist in the return of property to victims and/or witnesses.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Senior GIS Technician in the Community Development & Services Agency. This position provides lead direction and technical assistance to assigned staff and/or project management; performs a variety of technical office and field work duties that require specialized knowledge related to the creation and maintenance of maps, tables, graphs, and other geographic source data with the use of enterprise GIS, permitting, and asset management systems; provides technical support and queried data to department staff, other County departments, outside agencies, consultants, contractors, developers, and the public; and performs related work as assigned.

Description

The Town of Colma Recreation Services Department is currently accepting applications for Recreation Leaders for Summer 2025.  The Recreation Department provides programs and activities for Colma residents of all ages ranging from infants to seniors. Program elements include fitness, enrichment, cultural events, special events, sporting events, trips, and community events. It is the goal of the Recreation Department to offer a balanced program ensuring all elements are offered to all age groups throughout the year.
