There is one (1) full-time, regular hire vacant position in the Capital Projects Division.

The County of Marin seeks an experienced, motivated leader to manage the Facilities Capital Projects Division and partner with stakeholders in the delivery of high-profile projects at County buildings. This position oversees a major division within the Public Works Department with management responsibilities over facilities capital improvement planning and programming, project development, and preparation and oversight of the division’s operating and capital budgets. The Facilities Capital Projects Division is comprised of ten accomplished project managers, architects, and support staff that develop a wide variety of facilities projects from the planning phase through design, permitting and construction.

The Facilities Capital Projects Division Manager will join the County during an exciting time of growth and development. The next division manager will have the opportunity to leave a long-lasting positive impact on the community by leading the design and construction of major facilities projects to support the delivery of County services. The Public Works Program Manager leads and supports a team of engineering and technical staff while overseeing the Engineering Division within the Public Works Agency. This role is responsible for directing complex engineering programs; reviewing and evaluating technical work products, methods, and procedures; and ensuring all activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Under the direction of the Public Works Director, this position provides direct supervision, establishes project schedules and work plans, prepares and administers budgets, and ensures engineering services are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with agency goals.

• Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations relevant to engineering and public works programs
• Ability to understand, interpret, and apply technical standards, engineering principles, and administrative requirements to division operations
• Proficiency in analyzing engineering and administrative problems, evaluating technical work methods, and recommending effective improvements or modifications
• Skill in reviewing, prioritizing, and supervising technical and professional engineering work, including complex reports, calculations, and project plans

Department of Public Works: Engineering Division Opportunity [Civil Engineer]

Under direction of a Senior Civil Engineer, the Civil Engineer helps define, design, and/or review minor projects and phases of large civil engineering projects with complex budgets and timelines. In the Engineering Division, projects may include such things as bridge repair and replacement, culvert repair and replacement, new retaining walls, pavement management, road improvements, new stormwater management devices, new traffic management devices, and others.

Community Development Agency: Building & Safety Division Opportunity [Structural Civil Engineer]

The Senior Civil Engineer (CE) plans, manages, and coordinates the engineering program. THE POSITION: 

The City of San Rafael is recruiting for a Police Officer. This position performs a wide variety of peace officer duties involving the protection of life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances, criminal investigation, crime prevention and suppression.  Police officers prepare cases and provide courtroom testimony, provide information and assistance to the public and perform special assignments in areas such as patrol, traffic, investigations and gang enforcement.  General supervision is provided by the Police Sergeant.  Responsibilities may include the direct supervision of officers in training and/or the indirect supervision of other officers and/or support staff.   

This position performs the following essential job duties:

• Patrols an assigned area in a radio car, on motorcycle or on foot to observe and report suspicious activities or hazardous conditions for the prevention and detection of crime; arrests law violators in accordance with applicable statutory and case laws.
• Answers routine and emergency calls for protection of life and property and the enforcement of City, County, State and Federal laws, codes and ordinances.
• Investigates crimes, accidents, deaths and disturbances; collects, preserves and presents evidence using scientific identification techniques; interviews, questions and/or takes statements from victims, witnesses and suspects and completes investigative reports.
• Directs traffic, including regulation of vehicle flow at emergency or congested places, stops drivers who are operating vehicles in violation of laws and issues citations or warnings as appropriate.
• Appears in court to present evidence and testimony in connection with criminal prosecution and/or civil cases; serves writs, warrants, subpoenas and other legal documents.
• Provides information and direction to the public; assists in developing community policing strategies; maintains effective public relations and makes public service appearances.
• Provides emergency first aid and/or assistance to injured or incapacitated persons and requests additional emergency medical services as necessary.
• Searches, guards, transports and assists in the booking and custodial care of prisoners.
• Handles missing person cases; takes custody of runaway or delinquent juveniles; investigates child welfare cases involving potential mental, physical or sexual abuse.
• Assists with emergency or planned events, including natural disasters, fires, parades, and crowd control; participates in special details and assignments.
• Directs, instructs, and supervises officers in training; conducts in-service and/or briefing training.

Candidate must be high school graduate or its equivalent.  Completion of 45 semester (or equivalent quarter) units from an accredited college or university is preferred.  Prefer candidates with bilingual skills.
