The County of San Mateo Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) seeks a Board eligible or Board certified Adult Psychiatrist to join the North County Behavioral Health Center in Daly City, California, to work with adult BHRS clients with severe mental illness and substance use disorders. This is a full-time position.

The Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) Division of San Mateo County Health seeks an experienced psychiatrist to serve as Supervising Adult Psychiatrist for our Interface Primary Care Team.

Interface Primary Care is a BHRS mental health integrated, collaborative care program providing psychiatric services and Medication Assisted Treatments (MAT) to adults receiving care in the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Community Primary Care Clinics operated by San Mateo County Health. These clinics are located at North County Primary Care Clinic (in Daly City), Fair Oaks Health Center (in Redwood City), San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC), South San Francisco Primary Care Clinic (South San Francisco), and the Sequoia Teen Wellness Center (in Redwood City). This position will be a mix of direct clinical care and providing leadership and supervision for an interdisciplinary team of providers. This position also includes collaborative consultation with primary care/specialty medical providers and support for MAT services across BHRS.

This position is a full time, 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) position. This Supervising Adult Psychiatrist will report directly to the Medical Director of BHRS and will assist him/her in providing the highest quality behavioral health care in San Mateo County.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial diagnostic evaluation noting behavioral symptoms which may indicate organic and/or mental disorders in children and in interpersonal/ family dysfunctions related to child and adult patients/clients.

The Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) team of the Human Services Agency (HSA) of San Mateo County is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Rehabilitation Production Supervisor I/II. San Mateo County Health's Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Division is seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of Supervising Mental Health Clinician - Adult and Youth Services. Supervising Mental Health Clinicians supervise and coordinate the professional work of mental health professionals, paraprofessionals and interns in San Mateo County and participate in program planning, administration and evaluation; and provide specialized psychiatric casework counseling and therapeutic services to adults and youth in the field.
 
The current vacancy is in Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) Crisis and Outreach Team including the Psychiatric Emergency Response Team, the Crisis Response Team (CRT), Healthcare for the Homeless (HCH), Homeless Engagement Assessment Linkage (HEAL) team, and the law enforcement, mental health partnership within multiple cities in the County.

Supervising Mental Health Clinicians are members of the Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Leadership Team and work with collaborative partners on system wide initiatives focused on improving services and service delivery. This position reports directly to a Clinical Services Manager.
 
The Supervising Clinician oversees daily operations and directs a multidisciplinary team providing recovery-based behavioral health services, outreach and linkage for BHRS' crisis and outreach teams. Services provided include: supervising mobile clinicians who are working in tandem with city law enforcement at behavioral health crises and/or with homeless outreach programs throughout the County, supervise the program specialist for the Crisis and Outreach Team, and conduct trainings and presentations to law enforcement and the community.
 
The teams include psychiatrists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, law enforcement officers and community workers who are consumers or family members. The clinical teams may also work with clinical interns.  
 
The ideal candidate will possess:

• Knowledge of system of care principles.
• Knowledge of program management techniques and practices.
• Knowledge of crisis de-escalation, crisis evaluation, 5150-hold application, and community crisis response.
• Knowledge of crisis continuum of care.
• Strong supervisory/leadership skills, which demonstrate an ability to direct and motivate a multi-disciplinary team some of whom will be mobile and in disparate parts of the County.

• Tracking of data for established and pilot programs and report these statistics out to leadership.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification:

The City of Redwood City is seeking Firefighter/Engineers who are licensed paramedics. San Mateo Medical Center is seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduling Specialist for a Full-Time, Extra-help position for the Surgery Department. The Surgery Scheduling Specialist provides technical, complex and specialized administrative support to surgeons and patients scheduled for surgery, which includes interaction with operating room staff and patients; handles multiple competing priorities; interacts with diverse customer groups; handles multiple patient-related tasks such as tracking patient financials to ensure information is correctly entered; and moves patients from the clinic to the operating room, including all pre-operative processes necessary for the patients prior to surgery, pre-op process sheets and clinic schedules, data entry of items into the operative database, financial reconciliation, and post-op order sets, and may have some responsibilities for ordering supplies or equipment.

In addition, they would possess skills in conflict resolution, and problem solving. OASIS is community field-based mental health services provided to older adults at their place of residence. This home visit services include medication evaluation and monitoring, individual counseling/therapy, and case management. This multiple discipline team with language capacity in English, Spanish, and Chinese, consists of Psychiatrists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists, a Community Mental Health Nurse, and a Peer Support Worker. Services are available to San Mateo County residents age 60 and over with issues of mobility and mental health conditions that impact their day-to-day functioning.  

Clinicians will use evidence-based approach to perform assessment, diagnosis, make medical necessity treatment plans, case management, individual therapy, and work with family members of clients' and other community providers for clients' mental health follow-up care needs. These interventions are provided in field setting or in clients' place of residence, and/or as needed to clients who are living in the community.
