The City of San Rafael, Child Care Division is accepting applications for Child Care Aide to work in our School-Age Program.  We are looking for people who are available Monday thru Friday from 2:00 – 6:00 pm.  This is a great part-time position for someone who attends school in the morning.  No weekend work required!

This position performs the following essential job duties (including but not limited to):

• Assist Director and Instructors in planning and implementing activities.
• Assist in the supervision of children at the child care center or on outings/trips.
• Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and materials.
• Assist in the preparation and cleanup of snacks.
• Other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (include but are not limited to the following)

• Prepares responses, proposals and presentations for Requests for Information and provides responsible, professional analytical assistance in the development, administration and implementation of economic development programs.
• Develops short- and long-range economic development plans; gathers, interprets and prepares data for studies, reports, and recommendations.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer keyboard. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading written reports and work-related documents. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal service. Additionally, the incumbent in this position may work in all weather conditions including wet, hot and cold. This senior-level executive will oversee the industrial/commercial development of hundreds of acres of land sitting at the crossroads of two major highways linking together the San Joaquin Valley.  The successful candidate will also lead the downtown renovation program and focus on a growing housing demand in the city. Under the administrative direction of the City Administrator, the Community and Economic Development Director will plan, organize, direct and coordinate the City’s community and economic development program and will represent the city in matters of economic development; and performs related work as required.

This is a department head position who will coordinate the City’s efforts in promoting community and economic development. The incumbent will serve as Executive Director of the Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency. The incumbent serves as liaison with local, state and federal economic development agencies, and brings various program activities together into a City-wide coordinated and planned economic development strategy. The Community and Economic Development Director acts with a high degree of independence of action in the assigned area of responsibility to attain objectives according to policy guidelines. Prepares and recommends the City's economic development policy goals and implementation plans. Serves as a liaison with local, state and federal agencies responsible for economic development activities. Manages developer selection process and negotiates developmental agreements for commercial and industrial projects. Manages permit processing, planning, building plan checking and inspections, code enforcement, historic preservation and development engineering. Directs research and preparation of various reports, proposals, and studies. Chairs committees comprised of key employees from other city departments in order to respond in a coordinate manner to the development needs of applicants. Represents the City at various meetings. Performs related work as required. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential responsibilities of the director are to have knowledge of principles and practices of economic development efforts that may include financing, site selection, business outreach and recruitment, existing business expansion, and development entitlement assistance methods and techniques of permit processing, building inspection and code enforcement; laws, ordinances and regulations governing the operation of municipal government; management theory and practice; spelling, grammar and punctuation; appropriate safety precautions and procedures. 

Have the ability to plan, organize and administer comprehensive economic development programs; coordinate a task force designed to respond to developmental needs of applicants; prepare comprehensive reports, make effective oral presentation and maintain effective public relations; exercise good judgement in the handling of municipal affairs; formulate and administer budget; operate a vehicle observing legal and defensive driving practices; establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work; deal with a wide variety of planning, building and code/zone customers and reaching a satisfactory resolution to difficult and complex problems; maintain confidentiality and determine what information can be dispensed; coordinate with various departments for plans and permits review; manage the performance of others in the department with regards to scheduling inspections, computerized data entry, permit issuance, public relations, complaint, planning and community and economic development conditions and monetary follow-up. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS: Strength, light work-lifting, carrying and/or pushing 25 pounds maximum; incumbents are required to attend periodic evening meetings; and required to travel within and out of City to attend meetings. 

PREREQUISITES: This position requires equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, urban planning, economics or a closely related field.

A master’s degree in one of these fields is desirable.

A minimum of three years of increasingly responsible experience in managerial-level work in economic/business development and municipal services.

Possession of a valid California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.

Sausalito Parks and Recreation is Seeking Vibrant Skilled Recreation Leaders

This recruitment is for Fall Events and Activities such as Bocce and Volleyball Referee, Chili Cook-off, A Toast to Sausalito, and other fun classes, activities, and events. Bocce Referee
As a Sausalito Parks and Recreation Bocce Referee, you are responsible for set-up, management, and cleanup of scheduled Bocce matches. You are the enforcer of rules, an impartial judge, and an advocate for fun and fair play, all while maintaining a positive attitude and providing a friendly environment when communicating with teams and keeping score. This position reports directly to the Recreation Supervisor.  The ideal candidate must meet all minimum requirements as listed below and be confident and capable of dealing with conflict and intense games.  

Event Staff

As a Sausalito Parks and Recreation Event Staff member, you are responsible for actively participating in set-up, cleanup, and management of your assigned event.  You must arrive on time and remain until the event leader releases you after the event.   Event staff may set up chairs, tables, stages, corridors, and barriers.  You may be asked to perform traffic control or direct drivers to parking.  The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, meet all of the minimum requirements below, remain calm under pressure and in the face of adversity, be cheerful, friendly, and love the diversity of people.

Nature of Work:

Incumbent must be willing to work a 40-hour week as determined by the department. The position may also require sufficient physical strength and coordination for lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying the weight of computer systems equipment. The position may also require the following: bending, stooping and/or crawling in order to install or repair computer systems hardware, hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for taking apart casings, installing parts and reconnecting computer systems hardware.

Incumbent will comply with the telecommuting policy at the SFMTA with four (4) days on-site. However, there may be situations where the incumbent will be required to work at other sites throughout the City of San Francisco as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education: An associate degree from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units; AND
2. Five (5) years of experience managing and monitoring a network environment; AND
3. Five (5) years of experience with network security technologies, such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems; AND
4. Three (3) years of experience managing and/or supervising technical personnel.

Substitution:

Additional experience as described above in MQ #2 may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units/ forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units

Desirable Qualifications:

The stated desirable qualifications may be used to identify candidates advancing to the interview process and/or to identify job finalist(s) at the end of the selection process when referred for hiring.

• Experience defining Key Performance Indicators for reporting and measuring Network uptime and performance
• In depth knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of network infrastructure
• Experience with network troubleshooting and Diagnosis
• Experience with RF frequencies and Cellular technologies
• Experience planning and maintaining a MPLS based metropolitan area network (MAN).
• Experience with Next Generation Palo Alto firewalls.
• In-depth knowledge of IPv4, IPv6, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS and Spanning Tree Protocol.
• Previous experience managing OT (Operational Technology) networks and associated cybersecurity design. 
• Knowledge of network cybersecurity including IDS, DDoS, Firewalls, and other distributed attack schemes.
• Expert level knowledge of RF wireless technologies and experience troubleshooting RF interference.
• Strong knowledge of VoIP and Video protocols; SIP, SS7, RTP, TLS, SCCP, H.323, H.264 and MGCP.
• Ability to design, implement, administer and optimize enterprise network management systems and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) bases monitoring utilities such as, WhatsUp Gold, Nagios, SolarWinds or equivalent.
• Proven ability to automate tasks and maintenance with a combination of custom scripts and other tools.
• Experience managing and mentoring staff. Ideally candidate managing a team of 3 or more network engineers.
• Ability to initiate, drive, and/or support innovation and change.
• Must be self-motivated with time management skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate updates, issues, and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on documentation.

This position performs engineering work, project management, construction management, design work, and other engineering and technical services for the District; reviews development projects to ensure conformance with District standards; makes calculations, administers contracts, maintains records, provides engineering support to District departments, conducts studies regarding capital projects, assists in the budgeting process for project expenditures, and performs related work as required.

SAMPLE DUTIES INCLUDE

• Assist in planning, developing, and implementing goals and objectives for engineering department.
• Respond to mapping requests and permitting questions.
• Identify priorities of Infrastructure Assets Management Plan.
• Communicate status of work to supervisors, managers, staff, and co- workers as appropriate.
• Perform review, analysis, data gathering and input of maintenance and asset information.
• Prepare or direct the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates pertaining to construction, maintenance, and operation of wastewater facilities and equipment
• Conduct engineering studies, evaluate alternatives and make recommendations.
• Conduct and document onsite inspections.
• Enforce District standards, codes, and regulations.
• Collaborate with colleagues on District projects and development and implementation of policies and procedures.
• Maintain records and files, including electronic and hard copy drawings.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, procedures, and other written materials.
• Participate in developing and administering policies and procedures related to engineering.
• Provide support for staff performing service calls.
• Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) and geographic information system (GIS) to generate and analyze data and prepare reports.
