The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for Extra Help-Cook within the Yuba County Jail. Under close supervision, prepares and provides institutional meals following federal and state nutritional guidelines, and performs other duties as assigned.  Yuba County staffs the Cook classification at the County Jail division in the Sheriff’s department  This position performs a full range of tasks associated with the preparation and distribution of meals to juvenile detainees and adult inmates.  The incumbent ensures that properly prepared nutritional meals are produced in a large volume, institutional setting.  Responsibilities also include overseeing detainees and/or inmates and institution workers assisting with food preparation. 

For successful performance, the incumbent would be required to have knowledge of principles, methods and equipment used in high volume meal preparation in an institutional setting; basic food groups and nutritional values; safe work practices related to food preparation, storage and service; basic business arithmetic; and basic inventory and record keeping principles and practices. Skill in overseeing and preparing meals in a large scale, institutional setting; overseeing and training others in basic cooking and work procedures; operating, cleaning and performing minor maintenance to large institutional food preparation and cooking equipment; maintaining accurate records and preparing work related reports; directing others in work procedures; and reading, understanding and following recipes and oral and written directions. Ability to interpret instructions and menus given by supervisor; know and understand how to clean and use kitchen equipment; observe inmates at work site; solve operational problems; remember cooking instructions; and explain work procedures to staff and inmate workers; supervise a kitchen facility utilizing inmate workers; and maintain intense concentration on activities going on around one’s location on a constant basis throughout the entire work shift. This is only a representative summary of the major duties and abilities for this position.

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff.   The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated.  The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.

The Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) team of the Human Services Agency (HSA) of San Mateo County is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Rehabilitation Production Supervisor I/II. This current vacancy is a permanent position assigned in Catering Connection and/or the WorkCenter program. The position is a shared assignment and will be scheduled weekly to work in Catering Connection and/or the WorkCenter. The schedule of this position will vary and include weekends depending on the needs of the departments.
 
Under supervision, Rehabilitation Production Supervisor I/II will perform a variety of support activities and supervise the operation of Vocational Rehabilitation Services’ Catering Connection, and WorkCenter. In addition, this position is responsible for: Instructing, training and supervising the work of support staff and individuals with emotional and physical disabilities or others with barriers to employment by observing, evaluating and reporting on progress, attendance and employment potential of clients and preparing written evaluations.

The Position

Under the supervision of the Age Well Center Managers, the Chef/Food Services Manager position manages meal programs for the City of Fremont’s Age Well Centers. Chef responsibilities across both Age Well Center locations include the performance of menu planning, purchasing of foodstuffs, preparing quantity meals, supervising and assisting kitchen employees and volunteers and maintaining clean and orderly kitchens.

The incumbent will be responsible for properly cooked, economical, and wholesome, well balanced meals in City operated Age Well Centers. This position is not limited to being responsible for the assignment of work, supervision and evaluation of paid and volunteer food service workers. The review and approval of proposed menus, food purchases, control and monitoring of expenditure rates; and institution of disciplinary actions are functions reserved for the Program Coordinator or Age Well Center Managers.

THE DEPARTMENT

The American Canyon Police Department provides first response services to all forms of emergencies and crises.  The Department provides public safety by enforcing the Penal Code, Health and Safety Code, Vehicle Code, and local ordinances.  American Canyon Police Department is comprised of 24 sworn peace officers, two non-sworn Police Technicians, and an Administrative Clerk.

THE POSITION

The Police Technician performs a variety of non-sworn, administrative and field support tasks associated with law enforcement support services, which may include property and evidence collection, crime prevention, parking enforcement, vehicle abatement, and community relations; to maintain confidential and highly sensitive records related to police activities; and to perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

This is a high-profile position with frequent interactions with community members in often difficult circumstances. The quality of the work performed in this role is reflective of the standards of the Department and the City. This is a uniformed, civilian position that does not require peace officer status. However, a detailed background investigation, medical exam and drug screening is required due to the sensitive nature of the work involved.

THE POSITION

Typical duties performed by a Police Technician may include, but are not limited to, the following:
 

• Patrol areas of the City to identify and resolve parking violations and traffic hazards and enforce applicable laws; respond to citizen complaints regarding parking and abandoned vehicle laws; tag and arrange transportation of abandoned vehicles.

The City of Santa Clara is recruiting for the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer for its Electric Utility, Silicon Valley Power (SVP).  Reporting to the Chief Electric Utility Officer (CEUO), the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior management position in the City's unclassified service responsible for the oversight and direction for the fiscal, administrative, and managerial operations of the utility. The COO has supervisory and support responsibilities for the utility's divisions: Utility Operations, Customer Development and Project Management, Resource Planning and Customer Engagement, and Business Services. The COO will help guide SVP through the extraordinary period of growth related by doubling the existing capacity of the electrical system to meet new customer demands over the next 10 years. In addition to the expansion, the COO will work to ensure new renewable resources are added to meet the City's and State’s climate goals. Supervision

The employee must occasionally move items weighing up to 20 pounds inside the office.

Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week with some scheduling flexibility. Occasional overtime work on evenings or weekends upon prior approval by supervisor. The position will work out of the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens but may be required to travel to various other locations. Offices at the River Center are spread among multiple buildings and floors. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

THE POSITION:

The City of San Rafael Police Department is seeking to fill the full-time exempt position of Senior Management Analyst II (Advanced Professional Temp). This is a three (3) year fixed-term position, with the potential to be extended dependent on available funding and job performance.  This is an “at will” position with benefits available.  Employment may be terminated with or without cause or notice, at any time by the City of San Rafael. 

 The Senior Management Analyst (Advanced Professional Temp) will support the work of the newly formed Police Advisory and Accountability Committee (PAAC).  

This position performs the following essential job duties (including but not limited to):

• Manages community concerns of the PAAC.
• Supports the public meeting process including coordinating agenda items for public meetings, memorializing meeting minutes and any actions taken by the PAAC.
• Supports the PAAC Chair in the facilitation of the meeting process for this new committee. 
• Analyze, research, and prepare reports based on data analysis.
• Assess and examine public safety best practices.
• Provides administrative support between meetings and in preparation for public meetings.
• Performs related duties as required.

To be eligible for this position, you must have knowledge of:

• Principles and practices of local government and public administration.
• Methods of research, program analysis, and report preparation.
• State legislative procedures.
• Communication strategies.
• Public relations and relationship building.
• Computer skills including graphics software.
• Parliamentary procedures and knowledge of the Brown Act is preferred.

• Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration or a related field.
• A master’s degree in public administration, public policy, or business administration is highly desirable.

Senior Management Analyst II/Advanced Professional Temp: (in addition to the requirements for the Senior Management Analyst I, this level requires):

• Five years or more of experience performing increasingly complex, professional analytical work with a high degree of autonomy.
