Park Monitor: Under general supervision, this assignment monitors patrons, patrols parks and enforce rules at City of Dublin parks to ensure that permit areas are safe, clean, functional; and notify the Police Services as to any irregularities when appropriate.

Preschool Program: Under general supervision, this assignment assists with organization and instruction of preschool classes for children 18 months through 5 years. Duties also include developing and directing weekly lesson plans and activities.

Shannon Community Center: Under general supervision, this assignment oversees the proper use of a community recreational facility; performs a variety of custodial tasks; and assists the public and staff in their use of the facility.

Sports Programs: Under general supervision, this assignment is responsible for officiating a variety of sports league events and also serves as official scorer-of-record at sports events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision Received and Exercised: 
Receive general supervision from a Recreation Coordinator.
 
May receive technical and/or functional supervision from a Program Specialist. Exercise technical and functional supervision over Recreation Aide.

The City of Lincoln is hiring a Civil Engineer!

We are accepting applications to fill a new Engineer* position in the Engineering Department.  The incumbent will be part of a team of seven working on the City's capital engineering projects.  The position will be filled at any level of the Civil Engineer classification series, dependent upon candidate qualifications.  The salary ranges for each class level are as follows:

• Assistant Engineer:  $71,433.01 to $95,727.06
• Associate Engineer:  $91,440.05 to $122,538.42
• Senior Engineer:  $103,684.96 to $138,947.76

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The Assistant Engineer is the entry level class in the professional civil engineering series and is responsible for performing the professional engineering work not requiring registration as a Civil Engineer. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Associate Civil Engineer in that the latter performs the more complex and difficult assignments within the division.

The Associate Engineer is the journey level class in the professional civil engineering series and is responsible for performing the more complex design and construction of capital improvement projects and for reviewing private development projects for design conformance and accuracy. Incumbents perform complex professional engineering assignments requiring considerable knowledge of various aspects of civil engineering including land development, planning, design standards and regulations, construction and maintenance. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Senior Civil Engineer in that the latter performs the most complex and difficult assignments within the division and may exercise direct supervision over assigned project staff.

The Senior Civil Engineer is an advanced journey level registered professional engineer class and exercises full responsibility for planning and organizing a variety of assigned engineering projects and directing the work of assigned staff. Incumbents perform complex professional engineering and program management assignments demanding considerable knowledge of various aspects of engineering and related program requirements including land development, planning, design standards and regulations, construction and maintenance. This classification is distinguished from the Associate Civil Engineer by the level of accountability expected in the performance of the most complex and difficult assignments, and the performance of program management responsibilities.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED

This position receives direction from the Engineering Manager, and may receive direction from a Senior Engineer, and the City Engineer.  Associate and Senior Engineers may exercise direct supervision over professional and technical support staff and staff augmentation consultants.

Assistant Engineer

• Performs professional engineering work not requiring registration as a Civil Engineer.

Associate Engineer

• Manages, develops and coordinates assigned program activities such as industrial waste ordinance management, grease trap enforcement, and other City Municipal Code-related activities, including policy development, community education, regional and state program coordination and required infrastructure modifications; recommend program activity budgets.
• Monitors work activities to ensure safe work practices, work quality and accuracy; ensures compliance to applicable rules, policies and procedures; participates in the development of policies and procedures; recommends programs, projects and work assignments to higher level engineering personnel.
• Assists in the coordination of capital improvement projects with contractors, utility companies and other agencies; administers construction contracts; plans, coordinates, prioritizes, monitors and participates in the work of staff responsible for reviewing design conformance and accuracy of public and private development projects.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping, crawling and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties.  The position also requires repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer keyboard.  Additionally, the position requires both near and far vision in reading written reports and work related documents. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal service.  Additionally, the incumbent in this position works outdoors in all weather conditions, including wet, hot and cold.  The position entails working in situations that may expose the employee to fumes or airborne particles, electrical shock or mechanical hazards.  The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to drive motorized vehicles. PROGRAM LEADER (SPORTS AND FITNESS)

Salary Range: $16.54 to $22.05/hour, DOE

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefitted position; 15-20 hours per week (not to exceed 950 hours per calendar year); predominantly afternoon/evening schedule, some weekends.

• Creating and implementing measures to benchmark system implementations, enhancements, or modifications by providing documented system specifications, evaluating vendor proposals, and recommending appropriate course of action.
• Developing portfolio dashboard showing key metrics and risk positions.
• Using a variety of computer software programs to prepare reports, graphs and other materials related to energy resources, finance models and customer statistics. 
• Maintaining liaison with regional resource planning or supply agencies; serving on Pioneer committees as required; evaluating proposals in terms of resource costs, availability and consistency with long-term financial projections and resource needs.

Qualified candidates will possess a knowledge of California energy industry and electric power markets including CAISO, CPUC, CEC, and CARB, energy/financial markets and quantitative investment approaches, advanced computer modeling of power supply system operation and cost analysis and have the ability to perform complex professional analytical work in support of a variety of Pioneer’s product structuring and resource planning activities.

The City of Berkeley is seeking PE-licensed candidates who are passionate about improving infrastructure for a more sustainable and resilient city. As an Associate Civil Engineer, you will function as a project leader for Capital Projects with an emphasis on engineering design.

Located in the Public Works Department and the Parks, Recreation & Waterfront Department, capital improvement teams are responsible for coordinating with stakeholders and managing contracts to get projects ready for bidding and construction. Within the Civil Engineer series, Associate level engineers prepare the more difficult and complex specifications, drawings, legal descriptions and cost estimates.

Minimum Qualifications

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:
Equivalent to graduation from a four year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering and three (3) years of professional engineering experience in design and construction work at a level equivalent to the Assistant Civil Engineer classification.

Progressively responsible related experience may be substituted for the college coursework on a year-for-year basis.

Other requirements include possession of a valid California Registration as a professional Civil Engineer and possession of a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
