Job Description:

The Town of Los Altos Hills is recruiting a college intern to work in the Community Development Department. The intern will split time between the planning and building divisions of CDD. The role for planning will include support of both short range and long range planning.  Interns working on long range planning will work primarily as a research aide for the Town’s 2023-2031 certified Housing Element implementation.  For short range planning and the building division support interns will be focused on day to day permit activities, but may also work on other more general department duties as needed.

Description

The Town of Hillsborough is seeking highly motivated, positive, and people-oriented candidates for part-time per diem Communications Officer positions in the Police Department. Shift coverage is needed on daytime and overnight shifts. This position is only open to candidates with two or more years of experience as a Public Safety Dispatcher in California in the previous five (5) years.

 

Per Diem Communications Officer

GENERAL PURPOSE

Under general supervision, receives and transmits routine and emergency telephone and radio traffic;

dispatches and coordinates police, fire, public works and other municipal staff and equipment via multi-frequency two-way radio; maintains and processes a variety of communications reports, records, and radio logs; and does related work as required.

 

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

Communications Officer II

This classification has primary responsibility for staffing the Town’s public safety dispatch communication center. Under most circumstances, the training and experience for this position would occur by having prior experience working for another police department as a Communications Officer for a period of at least two years.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications Officer II typically performs, but is not limited to, the duties noted below on a regular basis:

• Receives and handles incoming telephone and voice radio calls for police, fire, ambulance, and public works

• Secures and records information as to exact locations and circumstances using radio or other equipment to dispatch appropriate units to the emergency scene.

• Maintains radio contact with local units on assignment and directs and coordinates with staff from other agencies on a mutual-aid basis, as needed.

Class Characteristics

This is the advanced-level classification in the Accounting Technician series responsible for performing the most complex work assigned to the series.  Incumbents regularly work on tasks which are varied and complex, requiring considerable discretion and independent judgment.  Positions in the classification rely on experience and judgment to perform assigned duties in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.  Assignments are given with general guidelines and incumbents are responsible for establishing objectives, timelines and methods to complete assignments.  Work is typically reviewed upon completion for soundness, appropriateness, and conformity to policy and requirements.  This class is distinguished from the Assistant Finance Director in that the latter has full management and supervisory authority in planning, organizing, and directing the full scope of accounting and finance operations within the department.

Education and Experience:

The Position

The Environmental Compliance Inspector performs inspections and sampling of industrial, commercial and residential sources of discharge to the City’s sanitary sewer and storm drain systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; inspects hazardous materials storage areas; responds to reports of illicit discharges; performs water quality testing; and conducts public outreach activities.  This classification is distinguished from all other technical and professional classifications in the City by its specialized assignments in support of a variety of environmental compliance programs.  The duties of the class involve courteous, effective and tactful interaction with the community to ensure compliance with wastewater and stormwater discharge regulations.  Persons assigned to this class perform or assist in performing all functions associated with the City’s Source Control (Pretreatment and Pollution Prevention) and Stormwater programs.  This position reports to the Regulatory Compliance Manager or higher level department personnel.

Some additional duties may also include the following:

• Enforce wastewater and stormwater discharge ordinances.
• Conduct on-site inspections of industrial and commercial businesses for compliance with the City’s sanitary sewer and stormwater ordinances.
• Initiate enforcement actions (e.g., issue notices of violation, administrative citations) to persons or businesses in violation of the City’s sanitary sewer and stormwater ordinances.
• Perform field investigations relative to water pollution incidents and/or complaints.

• Assist with fulfilling wastewater and stormwater regulatory requirements, such as public outreach and education, trash load reduction efforts, and other regulatory requirements, as assigned.
• Measure landfill monitoring well water levels.
• Attend and participate in various technical committees of the San Mateo Countywide Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program.
• Attend workshops and training sessions to maintain job skills that are current with existing, new and changing regulations.

The Director, Fare & Revenue Programs is responsible for directing all fare related programs including fare strategy, media, systems, and administration and revenue accounting for the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans), the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (Caltrain), the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) and the San Mateo County 101 Express Lanes Joint Powers Authority (EL) known collectively as the District. The Director ensures that approved fare initiatives are implemented effectively, operationally feasible, and financially sound.
This position provides strategic and operational oversight of fare systems and District revenue programs and ensures the cross-departmental coordination needed to implement policies, system changes, and operational requirements.
The Director, Fare & Revenue Programs reports to the Chief Financial Officer. The Director has 10 staff including the Manager of Fare Program Operations and the Manager of Revenue Management.

Essential Functions & Duties:

Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the District’s fare programs and revenue generating activities such as fare collections and real estate holdings, ensuring effective implementation of policies, systems, and programs.
• Advise executive leadership and cross functional partners on revenue policies and fare strategies, examining the potential impacts, implementation risks, and operational constraints associated with changes.
• Direct revenue management including fare revenue and fare media; participate in various internal and external policy settings boards, including Title VI compliance and reporting.

The Patient Services Supervisor-Hospital Billing and Follow Up is responsible for:

• Supervising and managing A/R (accounts receivable) follow-up staff.
• Ensuring timely and effective insurance and patient account collections.

The Senior Accountant plans, oversees, coordinates, and monitors a significant accounting functional area; performs complex professional accounting work relative to either centralized and/or departmental County accounting procedures and records; and performs journal entries providing clear, concise, and adequate supporting documentation and calculations that are GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and GASB (Governmental Accounting Standards Board) compliant.

In general, incumbents in this class exercise a high degree of independent judgment on diverse and specialized projects and have significant accountability and ongoing decision making associated with their work. The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable process and ensuring that vendor invoices are reviewed, approved, and paid accurately and on time. They supervise the AP team, assign tasks, and help resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors or internal departments. The role also includes managing payment schedules, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls. In addition, the AP Leader supports month-end closing, reconciles accounts, prepares reports, and helps improve AP processes for better efficiency. The Disbursement department ensures that its financial transactions are conducted in compliance with County established internal controls, governmental regulations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The department plays a critical role in supporting decision-making processes by providing financial analysis and insights to San Mateo Medical Center and Health System leadership.

The ideal candidate will:

• Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in accounting, finance, data analytics, statistics, or a closely related field
• Have 3-5 years of journey level accounting experience, preferably in healthcare, hospital or closely related settings

San Mateo County Health's Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) Division has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Services Manager I -Nursing (CSM I) in Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. This position has a leadership component and will be part of the Management leadership team, and report to the Medical Director. This CSM I Nursing Manager will provide clinical supervision, consultation and training to the Community Mental Health nurses who provide services to adult outpatient and field-based teams, throughout the County of San Mateo, BHRS.

The Clinical Services Manager I-Nursing manager will provide clinical supervision for the Community Mental Health nurses, participate in the overall management of division and inter-division nurse issues, train and provide orientation to a dedicated and experienced nursing team, develop clear and consistent policies and procedures for nursing practice at BHRS, for necessary standardization of practice, quality onboarding of new staff, continuous training, oversight of practice, and quality control. The CSM I Nursing will Co-Chair the Infection Control Committee (ICC).

The CSM I Nursing manager direct care role, will provide nursing support to outpatient teams, providing psychiatric assessments, clinical case management services, medication therapy and individual, group and family counseling. They will work with acute hospitals and community resources to coordinate clients' clinical care and recovery services.

This is a full-time 40-hour per week position. This position will have an office located at 2000 Alameda De Las Pulgas, but will travel throughout San Mateo County and out of the county.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

• A Master's degree in Psychiatric Nursing.
• A minimum of one-year experience in an outpatient community mental health setting.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with consumers, families, and contract providers.
