The Air District is currently accepting applications for the position of Air Quality Specialist I/II in the Source Test Section. This is an open recruitment for one (1) full-time, represented position.

The Source Test Section performs source emission tests at regulated facilities for compliance determination, emission factor development, and information gathering. Facilities that are commonly tested include petroleum refineries, power plants, manufacturing facilities, wastewater treatment plants, landfills, and gasoline dispensing facilities. he Senior Project Manager is responsible for the developing, managing, and administering capital funded design and construction of projects of the infrastructure and capital project development department for the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans). 

The Bus Infrastructure and Capital Projects Department oversees the delivery of major bus fleet and facilities infrastructure projects for SamTrans. The department’s projects include design and construction of zero emission infrastructure (battery electric bus (BEB) charging infrastructure and hydrogen fuel cell electric bus (FCEB) infrastructure) for SamTrans's revenue and non­revenue fleet of nearly 400 vehicles, sea level rise and flood mitigation structures, bus administration, transportation, and maintenance buildings, and other structures at SamTrans' North Base and South Base Maintenance Facilities. 

 

 

 

Essential Functions & Duties

• Responsible for overall management of scope, schedule, budget, and quality of assigned capital projects from initiation to closeout. 
• Manage projects through design, procurement, and construction. 
• Manage consultant and in-house staff in formal reviews of design submittals, including engineering drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates and construction schedules. 
• Oversee construction contract to ensure compliance with contract requirements. 
• Manage coordination and communications with all stakeholders, obtain input, collaborate, and build consensus. 
• Represent SamTrans at Board, Commission, Council, and Community Meetings. 
• Responsible for the selection, management and ultimate successful delivery of vendors, contractors, and other professional services for infrastructure projects. 
• Manage consultants and professional level staff outside of the agency. Ensure District DBE, SBE and other labor compliance policies are followed.

• Support development of contract solicitations.
• Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies during project implementation, and ensure compliance with their administrative guidelines.
• Develop, negotiate, and monitor contracts and cooperative agreements with other governmental agencies, private consultants, and private contractors.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in personnel, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field, and four (4) years of increasingly responsible professional human resources experience, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory or lead capacity, are required. Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $132,749 to $162,905. Remote work is not available for this position. The City is proud to offer a competitive total compensation package with the following highlights:

 The Accounting and General Services Specialist III position is in the Public Works Department. This position performs a variety of highly complex technical para-professional administrative duties in support of fiscal and accounting procedures, including budget preparation and auditing a variety of financial records under limited supervision. THE OPPORTUNITY

The City of Pacifica is recruiting for a Public Works Superintendent within the Department of Public Works. Under the direction of the Field Services Manager, the incumbents will be responsible for the field services of the Public Works Department. The incumbents will be assigned to oversee various subdivisions such as Streets, Streams, Storm Drains, Street Lighting, and Motor Pool programs.

THE DEPARTMENT

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining and repairing the City’s infrastructure and wastewater treatment operations in an efficient and cost-effective manner while providing a high level of customer service and a safe work environment for city employees. The Department maintains parks, playing fields and medians and keeps streets and trails clean and well-maintained. The Department also coordinates the tree program, cleans beaches and coordinates the City Beautification program.

The Public Works Department is organized into three divisions including Wastewater Treatment Operations, Field Services and Engineering. The Wastewater Treatment Operations includes the operation of the Calera Creek water treatment plant and management of the collection system. Field Services oversees the maintenance of city streets, parks, trees, vehicles and public facilities. The Engineering Division manages public infrastructure projects, transportation planning and maintenance and repair of the City’s infrastructure. The Public Works Department is supported by 56 full-time staff and an annual operating budget of $4.6 million, along with a FY2023-2028 CIP appropriation of $ 8.6 million.

PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT

(Streets and Streams, Parks, Building Facilities and Motor Pool)

DEFINITION

Under direction, manages the field services of the Public Works Department; to plan, organize, and direct the work of field personnel, including Parks, Trees, Streams Streets, Buildings, Rangers and/or Motor Pool Divisions.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISITCS

This is a management class with major responsibilities for the City’s Parks, Trees, Streams Streets, Buildings, Rangers and/or Motor Pool maintenance programs, that requires significant independence, initiative, and discretion within established guidelines. This position assists in the strategic planning, organization, and management across multiple operational units.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives direction from the Field Services Manager or designee. Exercises general supervision over supervisory, professional, technical and administrative support staff through subordinate levels of supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Plan, organize, direct, review and evaluate the work of staff involved in public works operations, including building maintenance, streams, streets, streets cleaning, storm drain maintenance, signs and signals, parking lots, and trails, janitorial service for City owned facilities, and vehicle maintenance and repair directly and through subordinate levels of supervision.
• Establish and carry out division goals, objectives, work plans, reports, policies and procedures.
• Prepare division budget and staffing requirements;
• Plan, organize and direct the work of contractors;
• Responsible for the procurement of goods and services.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS This is a single-position classification functioning as the Chief Building Official.  This position is responsible for the building inspection program for Glenn County, the Permit Center, and oversight for the construction of/on County owned buildings.
