Preschool Teacher

The City of Burlingame is looking for an energetic, caring, creative, and responsible Preschool Teacher. Under direction of a Recreation Supervisor, the Preschool Teacher plans, schedules, and organizes preschool classes for the City’s Village Park Preschool program, assures policies and procedures are maintained, and performs related work as required.

Essential Duties

• Plan, organize, and implement activities that support early childhood education and socialization
• Lead a variety of activities including, but not limited to, arts and crafts, organized games, story time, music/singing activities, science, cooking, early writing skills, and interactive circle time
• Ensure proper safety precautions are observed
• Maintain and care for supplies, equipment, and the facility
• Report any supply requests and facility maintenance needs
• Set up daily snack, change diapers and support toilet training

Qualifications

San Mateo County Health, Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) division is seeking well-qualified individuals for the position of Clinical Services Manager II – Behavioral Health Housing Interventions.  
 
This full-time permanent Clinical Services Manager II will serve as a strategic and technical subject matter expert responsible for overseeing a key emerging priority area for BHRS. The position will be responsible for successful implementation of Proposition 1 Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA) Housing Interventions requirements and other housing-related strategies for individuals living with serious mental illness and substance use disorders. This role will lead and support BHRS teams with mapping and documenting the current state of behavioral health housing workflows, systems and processes to inform changes and decision making required to support improvement of client outcomes and increased access to permanent supportive housing. The Clinical Services Manager II will collaborate with clinical and operational leadership, data analysts, consultants, community-based providers, managed care plans, housing and homeless service providers, and other key stakeholders to ensure that implementation solutions lead to a seamless experience for the most vulnerable behavioral health clients. 

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Demonstrated expertise in implementing Housing First principles and evidence-based housing interventions to support behavioral health clients.
• A proven record of success in behavioral health program supervision and oversight
• Collaborative, hands-on leadership abilities, with capability of guiding change management, implementing new and innovative solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and improving clinical efficiency and client care.
• Experience collaborating effectively for system-level coordination with other county departments, housing developers, service providers, health jurisdictions, and other stakeholders.
• At least five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in behavioral health systems, clinical operations and stakeholder engagement and coordination, including two (2) years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
• Knowledge of public sector behavioral health systems, Medi-Cal billing, and state regulatory reporting requirements is preferred.

About Canyon Vista

Canyon Vista is one of several housing projects that supports behavioral health clients.   Canyon Vista is located on the Cordilleras Health and Healing Center Campus in Redwood City.  Telecare provides onsite support for the residents, and Abode oversees property management.   Canyon Vista consists of 57 co-housing units, 27 permanent units and 28 transitional units.  The transitional units includes 15 dedicated Behavioral Health Bridge Housing units.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification: 

• Requires possession of a clinical license in psychology, social work, nursing, marriage and family therapy or the equivalent.

Education and Experience: 

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to qualify is:

Clinical Services Manager II – Mental Health: Three years of increasingly responsible experience in a mental health or related health services program, including at least two years of significant responsibility for one or more of the following:  program and budget development, funding, utilization, coordination of community resources or program evaluation.

Community Development Department

The Community Development Department is comprised of three divisions: Planning, Building, and Housing and Community Services. In general, the Department guides the ongoing physical development of the community, to ensure that construction conforms to the standards of the City and State. Within the Department, the Planning Division in the Community Development Department is responsible for reviewing proposed development projects in the City as well as Code Enforcement activities to enhance the community’s safety, welfare, quality of life, and economic opportunities. About the Position

Positions in this classification perform work in the organization and implementation of a wide variety of recreation activities.

The Program Coordinator classification is the top-level position in the Recreation Leader Series.  Advancement from Recreation Leader Level II to Program Coordinator requires 500 hours of work experience at Recreation Leader Level II, or equivalent experience.

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking an effective and skilled communicator, and highly motivated problem solver for the position of Principal Transportation Engineer/Planner.  This management position reports directly to the Transportation and Traffic Manager in the Public Works Department and will be responsible for:  assisting with planning, organizing and coordinating the activities of the Division of Transportation and Traffic; and perform professional traffic engineering, transportation planning, designing, and project management.

This position will supervise a small team within the Division to accomplish specific tasks and high-level, community-oriented projects. Current projects include: East Channel Trail study; Mary Avenue Overcrossing over highways 101 and 237; Bernardo Avenue railroad undercrossing; Sunnyvale Avenue and Mary Avenue railroad grade separations, liaison with the County for the Lawrence Grade Separation project; and coordinating with VTA as part of the delivering Measure B transportation projects. The position will manage multiple consultant contracts and will be expected to coordinate and work closely with other staff within the Division and with staff within other departments such as Public Works, Community Development, Environmental Services, and Public Safety, and represent the City with outside agencies such as the Valley Transportation Authority, Caltrain, High Speed Rail, Caltrans, MTC, County of Santa Clara, and adjacent cities.

The position will focus on advancing the projects mentioned above, assist with oversight of the design and traffic signal operations, implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS); assist with the coordination of Division of Transportation and Traffic activities with other divisions and departments; oversee and assist with oversight of the grant application preparation, reporting, and management for transportation projects; assist with planning and coordinating division workload and budgets; creating and sustaining cooperative and collaborative working relationships across the City, with the development community, and residents; attend and present at public meetings/City Commissions; and provide assistance with highly complex traffic engineering work. THE POSITION 

Depending upon class level and assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Review and examine construction documents, plans and specifications for one and two family, and multi-family residential, and basic commercial and industrial projects.
• Conduct plan checks on commercial and residential building structures; review structural calculations, fire resistance requirements, earthquake resistance and soils engineering. Conducts plan checks for commercial buildings to be remodeled and/or altered.

THE DEPARTMENT:

The City of South San Francisco has 83 sworn and 35 civilian positions. The Department’s philosophy is one of participative management, with a high degree of emphasis on training and education. A new state-of-the-art Police Department building and 9-1-1 Communications Center has opened at 1 Chestnut Avenue.  The new Police Building includes a large training room for defensive tactics, a dedicated indoor firearms range, and progressive construction incorporating the latest in Police Station design concepts.  The 9-1-1 Communications center will have the latest communications and dispatching technologies to provide improved service and response to South San Francisco residents.

THE POSITION:

Under general supervision, receives and transmits routine and emergency telephone and radio traffic; dispatches and coordinates police, fire, public works, and other municipal staff and equipment via multifrequency two-way radio; maintains and processes a variety of communications reports, records, and radio logs; and does related work as required.
