The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a term-limited Housing Specialist I to join the Housing Division in the Community Development Department. The term-limited Housing Specialist I will focus on the planning and implementation of unhoused services and programs. Under direction of the Housing Officer, Homeless Services Manager, or the Affordable Housing Manager, the term-limited Housing Specialist I will play a key role in the planning and development of new affordable housing, creating new housing programs and unhoused services and programs, implementing the Housing Element, applying for grants/funding to support affordable housing, and monitoring housing legislation. The term-limited Housing Specialist I will perform technical and professional level planning and community development work, with an emphasis on creation and implementation of programs that serve people experiencing homelessness and/or affordable housing programs. This position will closely collaborate with affordable housing developers, various housing advocacy groups, local non-profits, and the community. SENIOR APPLICATIONS ANALYST

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking two Senior Applications Analysts in the Information Technology Department. These positions are intended for support and enhancements of our Oracle Cloud ERP & HCM applications. In addition the positions will assume primary and secondary support roles for multiple enterprise systems including system configuration, reporting and interfaces, day-to-day operational issues, break/fix, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and on-call rotations.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience with supporting HCM or Financial systems, preferably an integrated ERP/HCM system, ideally Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.  Our Oracle Cloud ERP modules include General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Procure to Pay, Inventory Management, Accounts Receivable and Project Portfolio Management, and HCM includes Core HR, Benefits, Absence, Time and Labor and Payroll; the position will provide a strong techno-functional foundation to other team members.  The candidate we seek will be detail-oriented, able to create and edit documentation, and understand technical complexities involved in functional configuration, integration, interface, and report development with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with end users.

About the Position:  The Farm Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and construction tasks at Deer Hollow Farm in the Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. Deer Hollow Farm is an educational, working farm with cows, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, and other livestock.  Duties include performing maintenance and construction tasks using hand and power tools, operating and maintaining Farm vehicles, and assisting with daily Farm operations. Position Description:

Under general direction, the Network Operations Team Lead will lead the team in managing, designing, implementing, and maintaining all aspects of the Agency’s network operations and guide the team in developing a world class network.  We are looking for someone who has the proven ability to manage and inspire staff to innovate and consistently improve on the services we provide.  This position will have experience in design policies and architect a scalable network infrastructure that can keep pace with our anticipated growth.

• Manages SFMTA network team staff, conducts performance planning and evaluations, manages resource allocation, and confirms task completion by the assigned staff.
• Engineers solutions for complex technology infrastructure challenges through establishing detailed hardware, software, and configuration standards.

Nature of Work:

Incumbent must be willing to work a 40-hour week as determined by the department. The position may also require sufficient physical strength and coordination for lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying the weight of computer systems equipment. The position may also require the following: bending, stooping and/or crawling in order to install or repair computer systems hardware, hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for taking apart casings, installing parts and reconnecting computer systems hardware.

 

Incumbent will comply with the telecommuting policy at the SFMTA with four (4) days on-site. However, there may be situations where the incumbent will be required to work at other sites throughout the City of San Francisco as necessary.

How to qualify

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

1. Education: An associate degree from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units; AND
2. Five (5) years of experience managing and monitoring a network environment; AND
3. Five (5) years of experience with network security technologies, such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems; AND
4. Three (3) years of experience managing and/or supervising technical personnel.

Substitution:

Additional experience as described above in MQ #2 may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units/ forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units

• Strong knowledge of VoIP and Video protocols; SIP, SS7, RTP, TLS, SCCP, H.323, H.264 and MGCP.
• Ability to design, implement, administer and optimize enterprise network management systems and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) bases monitoring utilities such as, WhatsUp Gold, Nagios, SolarWinds or equivalent.
• Proven ability to automate tasks and maintenance with a combination of custom scripts and other tools.
• Experience managing and mentoring staff. Ideally candidate managing a team of 3 or more network engineers.

About the Opportunity

The City of Millbrae is looking for a full-time Deputy Finance Director based in Millbrae, California.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department and supporting citywide financial initiatives.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing departmental functions, supervising staff, and supporting the Finance Director in budget development, auditing, and financial planning activities.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Leading or supporting the annual audit and year-end financial close

More About You

 

Education: Graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.

Experience: At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, including 3+ years in a supervisory or management capacity.

Licenses: Possession of a valid California Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and a Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) certificate are highly desirable.

Speak clearly and understandably; operate standard computer programs and financial systems. Ability to work in a standard office environment, travel to various locations within and outside the City of Millbrae to meet program needs, and work additional hours to meet deadlines. When driving on City business, maintenance of a valid California Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record is required. The Department

The Parks and Recreation Department is the third largest department in the City and is organized by program area, with each program administered by a supervisor, coordinator, or specialist. The Parks and Recreation Department is composed of a Director and 22 full-time management positions. The department is comprised of the Recreation, Parks, and Building Maintenance divisions. The Parks and Recreation Department mission is to provide opportunities for physical, cultural and social well being; protect and enhance the physical environment; and ensure the effective and efficient use of public facilities and open space.

The Building Maintenance Division maintains 32 facilities totaling more than 563,000 square feet and over 275 acres of park land. The division provides janitorial, preventative maintenance services, and necessary building and related equipment repairs to all of the City's facilities, including interior and exterior work. The division also performs a variety of tasks, which include moving furniture, set-ups, and many other miscellaneous tasks as required.
