The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Manager in Budget Services.

This position will provide direct management oversight for the Trial Court Budget Management section within the Budget Services office, which includes the Court Budget unit (CBU) and the Funds and Revenues unit (FRU). The CBU is responsible for administering allocations and reimbursements of approximately $3 billion annually to the 58 trial courts, and provides budgetary support for various trial court programs. The FRU carries out advanced budgetary, technical, and analytical responsibilities related to the administration of judicial branch funds, including backfill for the Ability to Pay program and oversight of statewide collections.

This position directs Judicial Council staff support for the Trial Court Budget Advisory Committee and its subcommittees, managing administrative functions within the Judicial Council committee process to ensure that funding included in the budget is allocated to the trial courts in a timely and proper manner.

This position also represents the Budget Services office and the Judicial Council in interactions with a wide range of partners and stakeholders, including the Judicial Council’s Executive Office and senior management, trial court leadership, county government departments, and state agencies such as the Department of Finance, the State Controller’s Office, and the Legislature. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Budget Services, this position is granted broad discretion in its areas of responsibility and operates independently with minimal supervision.

The Department: 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) constructs, maintains and improves various components of the City’s infrastructure and provides quality, cost-effective, timely services to the residents and businesses of Santa Clara. DPW is responsible for a wide variety of programs throughout the City which include implementation of solid waste and urban run-off pollution prevention programs, design, construction management, inspection and maintenance of City streets, bridges, storm drain systems, traffic signal systems, building facilities, fleet, street trees, landscaping and the closed landfill. The Mechanical Maintenance Position is in the Facilities Division of the Public Works Department.

The Position: 

The Mechanical Maintenance Worker is a journey level technical classification. This classification operates, lubricates, cleans, adjusts, and makes repairs to heating, ventilating, refrigeration, emergency generators, solar systems, and other stationary building equipment, and installs and troubleshoots electrical systems up to 480 volts. The Mechanical Maintenance Worker is distinguished from the Mechanical Maintenance Foreman/Forewoman in that the latter is a supervisory position responsible for supervising Mechanical Maintenance Workers and Utility Workers in the maintenance and repair of the mechanical equipment found in City buildings.

Position Duties

The Fleet Management Division in Public Works Department is responsible for the management of the City’s fleet including the comprehensive inspection, maintenance, repair, acquisition, and disposal. The City’s vehicle and equipment fleet currently consists of over 2,700 assets. 

The Department of Public Works Fleet Management Division is recruiting to fill one (1) Equipment Mechanic Assistant I/II (EMA I/II) position. The EMA I/II is responsible for performing inspections, communicating with other staff and customers, servicing, installation of electronic electrical equipment, ordering parts, entering data in the fleet management system, road testing and diagnosing problems to make various repairs and adjustments on automotive, heavy truck and/or heavy equipment. While working under general supervision, the EMA I/II will be expected to perform safely and follow all rules required by the City of San Jose. The City of Menlo Park is recruiting for the exciting and challenging position of Management Analyst I/II. About the Position:   The Property Management Specialist I/II position is responsible for managing rental and communication leases, as well as leased land programs, including coordinating work of contractors, tenants and staff, on maintenance and construction of infrastructure on District lands. This position also supports agricultural rentals and historical leases.  Key responsibilities include preparing Requests for Proposals, selecting tenants, negotiating and drafting leases, and coordinating and managing the installation of infrastructure including but not limited to fencing and water systems.  The role also involves ensuring compliance with lease terms, collecting rent, and handling day-to -day general tenant communication.  The Property Management Specialist is expected to have the skills to trouble shoot and repair minor maintenance issues, as well as addressing larger infrastructure projects by overseeing contractors, lessees, or staff to ensure timely and effective completion of repairs.

The Property Management Specialist I performs most of the duties required of the position at an entry-level, providing support to more experienced Property Management Specialists and the District’s property management programs. Work is typically assigned on smaller scale projects or as support for larger projects managed by more experienced property management staff.

The Property Management Specialist II performs the full range of duties and is typically assigned to medium and large-scale projects which may be managed independently or in support of larger interdisciplinary, interdepartmental project teams as a property management subject matter expert. Successful performance requires coordinating work with other District departments and public agencies, as well as frequent interaction with tenants, landowners, contractors, consultants, and the general public. At this level. staff receive only occasional guidance for new or unusual situations  and are fully knowledgeable of operating procedures and policies.

The Environmental Services Department provides comprehensive and innovative utility services for Sunnyvale's residents, businesses and facilitates initiatives to achieve the City's sustainability objectives. The Department brings together technical, operational, and administrative professional disciplines to form its dedicated and dynamic team.

City of Sunnyvale Field Technicians work in the field when assigned to the Compliance Inspection group in the Regulatory Programs Division. Field Technicians work under the supervision of the Senior Environmental Compliance Inspector primarily in the field collecting samples from industries, restaurants and the sanitary sewer collection system in order to determine compliance with local and federal discharge limits. The Field Technicians in Compliance Inspection work closely with the Environmental Compliance Inspectors to regulate dischargers. Field technicians also perform sampling at designated drinking water locations.

Under direction of a Principal Planner or Planning Officer, the Associate Planner performs professional work including project review, public assistance at the One Stop counter, environmental review, general plan updates, plan preparation and review, long-range and land use policy studies, and plan adoption; and performs related work as required. Teamwork and collaboration are at the heart of the Planning Division. A candidate with great interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging work environment is desired.
