The Department:

The Water Quality Control Plant (WQCP) processes wastewater discharge for the cities of South San Francisco, San Bruno and the Town of Colma. The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) is seeking a self-motivated and highly experienced fleet professional to join our team as our next Fleet Services Program Manager! The newly created position offers an opportunity to join our cohesive team while being responsible for the management of the District's vehicle and equipment fleet used in the construction, maintenance, restoration and repair of public trails and critical natural habitat in the foothills and ridges of the Santa Cruz Mountains. About the Position: The Fleet Services Program Manager will oversee the full cycle of our vehicle and equipment fleet, from budgeting and acquisition to maintenance, compliance, and replacement.  This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and sustainable fleet operations by managing contracts, developing specifications, coordinating repairs, and leading asset management strategies.  The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in fleet and equipment maintenance, proven experience with budgeting and program administration, skilled at ensuring regulatory compliance, and the ability to evaluate fleet needs and recommend cost effective solutions.

Education & Experience:

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

• Equivalent to an associate degree in fleet management, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field and
• Four (4) years of full-time experience in administration of a fleet or equipment maintenance program or facility, including at least one year at a lead or supervisory level.

Licenses and Certifications:  Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.            

Work Environment: This full-time position reports to the Facilities & Fleet Manager and is part of the Facilities & Fleet Department at Midpen’s Administrative Office in Los Altos, California. Midpen offers a hybrid office/telecommute work schedule for this position following successful onboarding and may be eligible for a 9/80 schedule.  To meet service needs, three days of working on-site is required per week – set days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the office. The Fleet Services Program Manager will often meet with Midpen staff in the district field offices.  Employees may work in the field and occasionally be exposed to loud noise levels, cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, or road hazards. Must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Education and Training

• Experience in recreational activities, effective communication and interaction skills with youth, and ability to collaborate with staff. Must be at least 16 years old.
• Recreation leader 1 and 2: Students under the age of 18 are required to obtain a work permit from their school. 
• All staff 18+ are required to pass a fingerprint check submitted to the Department of Justice. 
• Sr. Recreation Leader: Sufficient education and experience to satisfactorily perform the duties of the classification.

San Mateo County Libraries is seeking individuals interested in making a difference in the lives of children and families. We will be hiring multiple vacancies for the position of Big Lift Inspiring Summers Learning Facilitator.
   

The Position: Learning Facilitators will be responsible for leading high-quality and connected learning experiences with children and collaborating with the other staff in a classroom environment for the Big Lift Summer Program. Learning Facilitators will establish and maintain an environment that embraces the growth mindset, actively facilitate open-ended, child-directed projects, and look for every opportunity to embrace and incorporate youth creativity.
 
Inspiring Summers Camps: The camps serve children reading below grade level in areas where the majority of youth qualify for free or reduced lunch. Staff working intensively with enrolled youth will have the opportunity to make our community a stronger, healthier, and more equitable place. These summer learning experiences are a critical part of San Mateo County's strategy to dramatically reduce the number of youth who cannot read on grade level, a problem that disproportionately affects youth of color and socioeconomically disadvantaged youth. Help us support youth in a summer program aimed to build confident youth who will have the benefit of high-quality, cutting-edge learning experiences with caring and passionate adults.
 
Location: Big Lift Inspiring Summer Learning Facilitators will be assigned to work at one of eight camps with children who will be entering kindergarten, first, second, or third grade in the Fall. The camps are located in Daly City, Half Moon Bay, Millbrae, Pacifica, Pescadero, San Bruno, and South San Francisco.
 
Schedule: This 6 to 7-week internship will begin with 8 days of required training and will then continue with a 4 to 5-week assignment in one of our learning camps. The camp assignment will either be part-time (20-28 hours per week, 4-5 hours per day Monday-Thursday and all day on Friday) or full-time (35-40 hours per week, 7-8 hours per day Monday-Friday).
 
MANDATORY IN-PERSON TRAINING WILL BEGIN TUESDAY, MAY 26, OR MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2025, depending on site placement.

Qualifications

These positions are designed to support college-aged students, recent graduates, and paraprofessionals working in youth education.
 
Education or Experience: Experience working with youth or a demonstrated interest in working with youth. Examples include experience coaching, tutoring, providing childcare, and taking child development coursework. Experience in theater, arts, music, youth development, early childhood, social justice, and science is also preferred.
 
Age Recruitment: must be 16 years or older. 
 
Language: Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.

An Associate's degree or 60 semester units or 90 quarter units in engineering technology, architecture, construction management or related field; AND

The City of Brisbane is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to play a key role in delivering high-quality public infrastructure projects and strengthening day-to-day engineering operations within the Public Works Department.
