About the Opportunity

This position is limited to 1,000 hours per fiscal year, averaging approximately 20 hours per week. Work schedules are based on business needs and candidate availability. As part of supporting the City Clerk's Office, the Intern will assist with preparation and setup for City Council meetings held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday evenings of each month, in addition to occasional weekend events and community activities. The Intern will support the Administrative Services Department, assisting both the City Manager's Office and City Clerk's Office. The Position

The Town of Los Altos Hills is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Principal Planner to serve as a key leader within the Community Development Department. Reporting to the Community Development Director, the Principal Planner will assist in the management and administration of planning operations, provide leadership and technical guidance to planning staff, coordinate consultant resources, and oversee the Town's most complex current and long-range planning initiatives.

This position is intended to strengthen the Town's planning capacity by providing senior-level expertise and project management support across a broad range of planning activities. The Principal Planner will play a critical role in advancing major policy initiatives, implementing state-mandated planning programs, managing complex development projects, and ensuring the Department remains responsive to the needs of residents, elected officials, and stakeholders.

The Principal Planner serves as a strategic partner to the Community Development Director and works closely with planning staff, consultants, the Planning Commission, City Council, advisory committees, outside agencies, and community stakeholders to advance the Town's priorities and maintain compliance with evolving State planning requirements.

Los Altos Hills is a unique community with a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, wildfire resilience, open space preservation, and thoughtful land use planning. Examples of Duties

Leadership and Administration

• Assists the Community Development Director in the administration and management of the Planning Division.
• Provides leadership, mentorship, technical guidance, and training to planning staff.

• Manages consultant preparation of Initial Studies, Negative Declarations, Mitigated Negative Declarations, Environmental Impact Reports, and related environmental documents.
• Develops project scopes, budgets, schedules, and consultant contracts.
• Monitors project progress and ensures timely completion of assigned planning initiatives.

Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Coordination

• Prepares and presents staff reports, ordinances, resolutions, policy analyses, and recommendations to the Planning Commission, City Council, and advisory committees.
• Represents the Town in meetings with residents, property owners, developers, consultants, regulatory agencies, and community organizations.
• Responds to public inquiries regarding planning policies, development proposals, and land use regulations.
• Facilitates community outreach and public engagement efforts related to planning projects and policy initiatives.

Qualifications

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in urban planning, city planning, environmental planning, public administration, architecture, geography, or a closely related field.

Eight (8) years of increasingly responsible professional planning experience, including substantial experience managing complex planning projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and leading policy development and implementation efforts.

Experience in both current planning and long-range planning is highly desirable.

A master's degree in urban planning, public administration, environmental planning, or a related field is desirable.

Certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is preferred. Candidates without AICP certification must demonstrate equivalent senior-level professional planning experience and expertise.

Demonstrated experience with Housing Element implementation, General Plan updates, Safety Element planning, wildfire resilience, climate adaptation, zoning administration, CEQA compliance, consultant management, and public engagement processes is highly desirable.

Experience supervising, mentoring, or providing technical leadership to professional planning staff is desirable.

San Mateo County Health is seeking well-qualified individual for the position of Medical Office Specialist-Behavioral Health & Recovery Services – Extra Help.

There is currently one extra help part time (20-hours per week) vacancy in the Behavioral Health & Recovery Services Division. This position is located in Belmont, CA, but may travel/drive throughout the County to perform duties of the job.

The Medical Office Specialist (MOS) will be involved in the organization and development of workflows for the Access Utilization Management (UM) Team. The Medical Office Specialist will oversee and perform a variety of complex medical office administrative tasks that correspond to the compliance mandates of Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS); perform difficult, complex, technical or specialized medical office support work, which may require the exercise of independent judgment, the application of technical skills, and a knowledge of detailed or specialized activities related to Behavioral Health and Recovery Services and compliance standards; and may train others in work procedures or direct the work of others on a project or relief basis.

Access Utilization Management (UM) MOS Position
Support outpatient utilization management; track timelines, requests, and provide monthly reports on completed tasks; help with formatting spreadsheets, creating PDF referral forms, and completing complex spreadsheet analysis in Excel; write formal letters and input data from the electronic medical record (EMR) database; verify insurance eligibility; input demographic and insurance eligibility in EMR database, Avatar; oversee and perform a variety of complex administrative tasks that correspond to the compliance mandates of DHCS and CMS; and process in or out of county requests using knowledge of specialized out of county activities.

School Sustainability Associates (SSAs) lead educational field trips at StopWaste’ s two Education Centers, support school-based programs, and help elementary, middle, and high school teachers and students take action to reduce waste.

SSAs also contribute to agency initiatives such as school infrastructure, trainings, and community outreach campaigns.

They work at the Education Centers, at schools, at the agency office, and in community settings to implement programs that advance StopWaste’ s goals and support educational equity.

Instructional support may include facilitating student-led waste audits and activities that help schools reduce waste in alignment with local climate action plans and district environmental literacy curricula. SSAs may also provide technical assistance and training, support school infrastructure projects, and assist with outreach campaigns such as StopWaste’ s Stop Food Waste campaign and carbon farming initiatives.

The position receives day-to-day direction from a StopWaste Program Manager and Project Coordinators or their designees, with work assignments at the StopWaste office and the Educational Field Trip Centers in San Leandro and Fremont. Selected candidates must have reliable transportation, be willing to travel regularly to sites throughout the county and provide proof of insurance if using a personal vehicle. THE ORGANIZATION

Incorporated in 1927, Menlo Park is a General Law city operating under a Council-Manager form of government. THE POSITION

The Human Resources Manager is a key management position at the City. This individual plans, manages, and oversees the daily functions, operations, and activities of Human Resources, working collaboratively with the Administrative Services Director and management staff across the City. It is essential that this position is responsive to all customers and takes a proactive approach to building relationships throughout the organization, recognizing the value and unique contributions made by each and every employee. This individual serves as the main point of contact on employee relations matters and leads labor relations for the City’s five unions (general employees, supervisors and mid-management, police officers, police sergeants, and temporary employees), along with the confidential and unrepresented management groups. This position leads highly-complex projects; conducts a variety of organizational and operational studies and investigations; and prepares and presents staff reports, policies, and other correspondence for the City Council and all employees. Under general supervision, responsible for protecting the community from dangerous and sick animals; enforcing and investigating local municipal, state, and federal animal laws; preventing the spread of zoonotic diseases; capturing and impounding a variety of animals requiring specialized equipment; euthanizing animals as deemed necessary; providing care and maintenance for animals; picking up and disposing of deceased animals; assisting in licensing; providing humane education to residents in the community and children in schools; and performing other related duties as required.

Essential Duties:

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Responds to complaints concerning animals and takes appropriate action.
• Captures aggressive animals
• Investigates reports of animal cruelty and neglect, dog and rooster fighting.
• Operates a motor vehicle in patrolling an assigned area.
• Collects license and quarantine fees and issues receipts for same.
• Explains and enforces pertinent laws relating to animal services and licensing.
• Issues violation notices and Court citations.
• Transports stray, sick, injured or dead animals to an animal services facility.
• Performs humane euthanasia on animals as necessary.
• Assists in receiving, feeding and caring for, or disposing of impounded animals.
• Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of the animal services facility, related vehicles, and equipment.
• Assists the public in claiming or adopting animals.
• Investigates animal-bite cases, obtains all necessary information and initiates proper quarantine or hearing procedures as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

You have: 
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience: One (1) year of experience in the handling of or caring for animals.

Education: Equivalent to completion of twelfth (12th) grade.

License: Possession and maintenance of a valid Class C California Driver's License by the time of appointment.

Persons hired must obtain a certificate from the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training covering laws of arrest and safety in firearms as described in Chapter 4.5, Section 832 of the Penal Code within 90 days from the date of employment.

Person hired must obtain Certification in Humane Euthanasia within 90 day days from the date of employment.

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Senior Information Systems Specialist in the Department of Information Technology! In this role, you will support a variety of initiatives in connection with the City's Digital Strategic Plan, the Berkeley Resilience Strategy, and other long-term goals. You'll partner with staff from various City departments to assess hardware and software needs and develop innovative and intuitive solutions.

As part of the IT Department, you'll join a dynamic team and serve as a technical authority in networking, virtual server management, Voice Over IP, disaster recovery, infrastructure and application security, cloud virtualization, Active Directory administration, Office 365 apps, and Intune Desktop and mobile device management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college, with major coursework preferably in information technology, computer science, network engineering, mathematics, business or public administration, or a field related to the department to which assigned, and two (2) years of experience in managing and supporting IT systems or network infrastructure. Experience in technical support, managing networks, or other relevant information technology work may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis.
