The Community Services Department plays a key role in enhancing the community and ensuring the citizens of Fremont receive excellent customer service through the management of recreation facilities, quality recreation and environmental programs, and park planning.

The Position

The primary focus of the Park Ranger/Naturalist is to enhance park safety and visitor experience through consistent patrol, community engagement, and responsive customer service. Additionally, the incumbent may conduct natural resource protection and environmental education programs.

Examples of Job Duties

• Work in prescribed uniform and is responsible for general patrol and supervision of City of Fremont’s parks, plazas and trails.
• Develop and deliver ranger interpretive programming in an urban park setting, including nature education, guided walks and public outreach.
• Provide high-quality customer service to park visitors, responding to questions, concerns, and safety needs in a professional manner.
• Perform homeless response strategies and mitigation efforts, such as posting notice to abate nuisance tags, collection on unattended property and removal of debris.
• Promote park stewardship and resource protection through public engagement, education, and field presence.

The Housing Authority is seeking an exceptional, team-oriented candidate to oversee projects and initiatives in support of the Alameda Housing Authority (AHA)’s affordable housing development and neighborhood revitalization programs in the City. This may include new construction development, acquisition and rehabilitation of properties, and development for projects for AHA’s nonprofit development affiliate, Island City Development. AHA’s pipeline of multifamily projects includes serving family, homeless, workforce, and senior populations and managing major renovation of occupied properties within AHA’s portfolio. The Senior Project Manager will also manage a wide range of consultant relationships and may supervise one or more junior staff.

AHA is particularly interested in applications from candidates with a strong track record in successful management of affordable real estate development and housing new construction, and familiarity with various related federal, state, and local regulations. Desirable candidates will be knowledgeable about zoning and environmental regulations 
related to affordable development, experienced with development and administration of consultants and contracts, and have experience with public, private and non-profit affordable housing funding sources such as the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program, Project based Section 8 and Tax-exempt bonds.

This is an exempt, at-will position. The Authority operates on a 9/72-hour biweekly schedule and is closed every other Friday.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The San Rafael Fire Department is an all-risk fire agency with 69 highly trained operational firefighters providing services in firefighting, Advanced Life Support (ALS) response, ambulance transport, technical rescue, hazardous material response, disaster response, fire prevention, and community preparedness.   

The San Rafael Fire Department delivers exceptional public service from seven neighborhood fire stations.  Our department philosophy of community fire servicing emphasizes collaborative relationships with the community.  

THE POSITION

The San Rafael Fire Department is seeking a full-time Administrative Analyst to join our Administrative Division.  At the direction of the Department's Senior Management Analyst, this position provides professional administrative support to the Fire Department, with responsibilities including contracting, grant management, principles in accounting and other administrative duties.

The ideal candidate will be a blend of the following skills and experience:

• Background and knowledge of accounting and budgeting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budgeting.
• Experience with managing contracts, risk management, and the RFP process.

• Plans, organizes, coordinates and implements day-to-day program assignments independently.

• Equivalent to an Associate's degree with college course work in public administration, business administration, or a related field, AND
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative support experience, preferably within a public agency.
• Experience involving extensive written customer communications, employer social media posts, research, budget preparation/reconciling; development of marketing materials and event planning/coordination may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) is seeking an exceptional, process-orientated professional to serve as the Director of Housing Programs to assist with planning, organizing, managing, and providing administrative direction and oversight for all functions and activities of the Housing Programs Department which administers the various assistance programs the AHA operates. POLICE OFFICER - Academy Graduate - $8,419 to $11,416 per month (up to $13,128 with incentives)

Police Officers can serve in patrol, traffic, investigations, and K-9 assignments. Definition

To attend a Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) approved Police Basic Recruit Academy and successfully complete the academic and physical training required for appointment to the classification of Police Officer.

Distinguishing Characteristics

This is a trainee level classification which provides transition into the position of Police Officer. Police Officer Trainees are hired into this civilian position for the period prior and during the time they are assigned to a POST certified police academy. Upon successful completion of training at an academy and upon the availability of a Police Officer Recruit II position, Police Officer Trainees are sworn in and appointed to the classification of Police Officer Recruit II.

Supervision Received

Receives close supervision and evaluation on a daily basis by academy staff. Limited supervision by department training supervisor and/or manager during regular academy visits.
