The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in the following way:

Fire Prevention Inspector I: 

An Associate's degree or 60 semester units or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university in Fire Science/Technology or Fire Protection;

OR

An Associate's degree or 60 semester units or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university in Building Design, Construction, Chemistry,  Engineering, Architecture, or related field; AND completion of the following five classes from an accredited community college is required: Fire Protection Organization; Fire Prevention Technology; Fire Protection Equipment and Systems; Building Construction for Fire Protection; and, Fire Behavior and Combustion.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years’ experience performing the full range of technical work in the areas of general accounting and auditing.  Responsibilities include:

• Accounts receivable/payable.
• Reconciling expenditure and revenue accounts including capital assets and long-term debt funds.
• Verifying availability of funds and classification of expenditures.
• Reconciling expenditure and revenue accounts, including land acquisition worksheets, capital assets, and long-term debt funds; reconciling bank statements.
• Assist in processing debt service obligations, including creating payment schedule, paying annual obligations, posting interest on bonds and notes from statement, updating liability balance, and posting journal entries.
• Review credit cards monthly and ensure that transactions are properly coded and approved.
• Providing technical assistance to the Accountant in preparation of the year-end audit.
• Review, post, balance, reconcile, and maintain accurate and confidential accounting and payroll records.
• Assist in gathering data and preparing monthly financial and statistical reports.
• Verify, post, and record a variety of financial transactions; prepare and maintain databases.
• Maintain a variety of ledgers, registers, and journals according to established accounting policies and procedures; reconcile transactions and account statements; record changes and resolve differences; maintain the accuracy of accounting and financial records.
• Report generation.
• Produce journal entries to post  to the general ledger,
• Accurately prepare employee and vendor payments for retirement and other benefits; submit reportable compensation to CalPERS and process payments; prepare Federal and State tax reports.

The Energy Department is seeking to fill one (1) full-time Senior Regulatory Compliance & Policy Manager (Senior Power Resources Specialist) position for the Regulatory Compliance & Policy Division. The Department: 

The City of Santa Clara is looking to fill multiple As-Needed- Temporary Employee positions to support the Annual Cleanup Campaign. Successful incumbents will be assigned to work as ground crews shoving, sweeping, and lifting up to 50lbs of debris left by Santa Clara residents.

The Position: 

In this temporary employment opportunity, you will gain valuable experience working with the public and demonstrate teamwork amongst your peers as you become part of a dedicated crew.

A mandatory paid orientation is tentatively scheduled for April, 2026, where employees will receive training, safety boots, and the necessary equipment to perform the job. This position will work from 6:45am-4:15pm, 40-45 hours a week, Monday-Friday between April 27, 2026 - May 22, 2026. 

As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.

About the Position: The Supervising Ranger is a dynamic and impactful leadership role with broad responsibility, exercising sound judgement and meaningful independence, while overseeing patrol operations across Midpen preserves. The position leads and mentors a team of sworn district peace officers, coordinates emergency response efforts, builds positive relationships with the public and key stakeholders, represents the District at public meetings, and works collaboratively with departments throughout the organization.

Successful candidates are people-focused leaders who can inspire and guide staff in both day-to-day operations and critical incidents.  The role calls for clear and effective communication, the ability to work with tact and diplomacy, and a commitment to public safety and resource protection.  Responsibilities also include enforcing applicable laws and regulations; administering first aid, providing Emergency Medical Response as a first responder, operating emergency patrol vehicles and two-way radios; and supporting wildland fire suppression efforts  as needed. Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) has an excellent career opportunity for an experienced and motivated Area Manager who will plan, organize, manage, oversee, and participate in all activities of the Land Stewardship & Trails Department. This position reports to the Land Stewardship & Trails Manager and oversees 19 staff with four direct reports and seasonal employees. This position will be assigned to the Skyline Area of the District. The Area Manager primarily works in a field office setting, and will attend various meetings and visit District field sites, which may require hiking through steep terrain and wildland areas and driving in remote areas on dirt roads.  General responsibilities include oversight, coordination, and reviews of staff performing maintenance and repair of Midpen’s lands. The Department: 

Silicon Valley Power (SVP) currently provides over 40 percent of Santa Clara’s electricity from carbon-free renewable resources. In addition to using green energy from large-scale wind, solar, geothermal and hydroelectric projects outside of the area, SVP employs innovative ways to locally produce electricity by capturing and burning methane gas from a closed city landfill and using power from solar generating systems on city-owned garages and vacant, unusable land. The Position: 

Under direct supervision, the Assistant Electric Utility Engineer performs a variety of entry-level professional electric utility engineering field and office work in Electric system planning, electric system design, construction and/or maintenance programs.  SVP invites applications from dynamic and innovative qualified candidates for an entry level engineering position. Assistant Electric utility engineer will be part engineering team to conduct design, establish standards and implement construction projects. Incumbents may be assigned to work in any division in the Electric Department reporting to a Principal, Senior Electric Utility Engineer, Electric Utility Engineer Division Manager, Assistant Director or Director.

The salary range for this position is $145,678.08 – $185,797.44.   This position may be filled at or near the minimum of the salary range. 

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: 

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with: 
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering from a college or university that is accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET).

               OR

• • Possession of a State of California Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) Certificate and at least 1 year of experience in electrical or mechanical engineering office and/or field work, and Experience using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Mathlab).

License/Certifications: 

Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license is required at time of appointment and for the duration of employment.

Desirable Qualifications: 

• Registration as an Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineer in the State of California.
• Experience using ESRI based Geographic Information System (GIS).

Other Requirements:  

• Must be able to perform all of the essential functions of the job assignment.
• May be required to work shifts, weekends, and odd and unusual hours in the performance of duties and emergency situations.
