The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of a Limited Term Project Manager in the Administrative Services Department, with a focus on the scheduled Library Renovation. This limited term appointment is set to end in June 2025. 

The incumbent will plan, direct and coordinate activities concerned with the implementation or administration of a project; participate in the conceptual development of a project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation; coordinate project activities or functions with other County staff, associated agencies, and contractors as appropriate; may direct, review and evaluate the work of assigned staff. This is a broad classification managing mid- to large-scale projects that are largely of an analytical, programmatic and/or financial nature.  

This is the management level in the project management series. 

About Administrative Services:

The Administrative Services Department provides logistical and resource support to all County departments. We are the primary provider of Custodial Services, Fleet Services, Capital Improvement Planning and Acquisition and Facilities Maintenance. We provide purchasing guidance and serve as Purchasing Agent for County procurement needs as well as assist vendors interested in doing business with the County.

Examples of Duties:

• Participate in and supervise the design, implementation, integration and/or installation required for the project assigned; schedule the project timeline in logical steps and budget the appropriate amount of time required to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate, conduct and review a variety of complex analytical and support activities, including policy and procedure development and implementation; assist in the development and implementation of project goals, objectives, procedures and work standards.
• Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports or cost tracking reports.
• Confer with other County staff, the Purchasing Agent, associated agencies and contractors to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
• Work with the Purchasing Agent to manage the consultant and contractor selection RFQ/RFP/IFB process and participate as a member of the consultant selection committee; manage resulting contracts; monitor projects, and documents related steps and procedures to ensure compliance with contract provisions.
• Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.  

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The City of San José Housing Department is a leader in the development of affordable housing. Its mission is to strengthen and to revitalize our community through housing and neighborhood investment. The Housing Department provides loans for the development of affordable housing and manages a portfolio of over 17,000 housing units with a total value that exceeds $700 million. Over the next five years, the City Council has a goal of creating 25,000 housing units, 10,000 of which will be affordable. The Development Officer will be assigned to the Multifamily Project Development Program and will manage all phases of affordable housing lending. The position will oversee activities and programs within the Affordable Housing Production Division. The Development Officer reports to a Senior Development Officer. The Development Officer will be responsible for reviewing the structure of multi-family financing proposals for new construction and preservation of affordable housing. The City of Auburn is looking for a Transportation Supervisor to join our team!

The Transportation Supervisor is an important part of the City's transit team that provide services including the Auburn Loop fixed route and Auburn OnDemand ride share programs.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS:

TRANSIT PLANNER ASSISTANT

This is the entry-level class in the Transit Planner series and will receive direction and guidance from the Transit Manager. Work given to an incumbent in this class involves assisting in analysis and development of transit programs and services, research of new trends in public transit and comparing how Union City provides service delivery, and participation in coordination events or meetings on behalf of Union City. The Transit Planner Assistant has basic knowledge of the operating procedures and policies of transit and/or transportation planning. An incumbent may advance to the higher levels after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency that meets the qualifications of the higher-level class.

TRANSIT PLANNER ASSOCIATE

This is an experienced-level class within the Transit Planner series and will receive general direction from the Transit Manager. JOB SUMMARY: The San Mateo County Transit District is seeking a highly technical IT Operations Supervisor to join our team. Under the supervision of the IT Operations Manager, the Supervisor will coordinate the efficient and effective operations of the Help Desk team for the District, including work direction and supervision of Help Desk staff and coordination with other District information technology staff. This position is responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work; documenting and gaining approval for all help desk support procedures and system documentation; and assisting team members in answering calls, addressing service or escalation issues, and applying independent decision making to resolve problems or escalate problems to management. The IT Operations Supervisor develops regular reports on help desk contacts, ensures that service levels are met, identifies trends and makes recommendations for service improvements, and provides budgetary recommendations to management for service growth and/or improvement.

IT Operations Supervisor will work closely with various users in San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans), the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (Caltrain), and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) and other departments and is responsible for managing all procedures related to the identification, prioritization, and resolution of end user help requests, including the monitoring, tracking, and coordination of Help Desk functions. The role will also contribute to problem resolution by giving in-person, hands-on support to end users at the desktop level.

• Supervise help desk support staff’s daily activities ensuring timely and professional delivery of technical support for calls on computers, core software products, and related hardware peripherals.

Light cleaning duties will be expected.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in civil or traffic engineering and five years of increasingly responsible traffic engineering experience, three years of which were at a level equivalent to the Assistant Transportation Engineer class. Progressively responsible related experience may be substituted for the college course work on a year for year basis.

Other requirements include possession of a valid California Registration as a professional Traffic Engineer or a professional Civil Engineer. A CA Registration as a Traffic Engineer is preferred. Candidates must also possess a valid California driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record. Desirable qualifications include a master's degree in Transportation Engineering/Planning or a related field.

Ability to motivate & interact with teens ages 10-14.
Possess strong leadership skills in one or more of the following areas: art, crafts, sports,
special events, multi-media.
Lead teen activities.
Create & maintain a positive environment in the Teen Zone Program.
Maintain structure and discipline within a group setting, while encouraging and promoting student
participation in a positive manner.
Take direction from supervisors.
The ability to speak English clearly and understandably.
Perform related duties as required.
Have strong customer service skills and the ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public.
Work unassisted with a minimal supervision.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, co-workers, other agencies and the
general public.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Teen Aide will assist in leading Teen Zone, a daily drop-in program for local
middle school students. While on duty, Teen Aide may be responsible for check-in and check-out of participants, oversee an in-house snack bar, and facilitate set-up of the Teen Zone game room (including setting up video games, ping pong table, quiet homework spaces, and more). Light cleaning duties will be expected.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
