The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Veteran's Services Officer within the Veteran's Services Division of the Health and Human Services Department. Under general supervision, the incumbent will organize, and coordinate the day-to-day operational activities of the Yuba-Sutter Bi-County Veteran Services program.

The County of San Mateo’s Human Services Agency serves as the initiatives “Backbone Agency”. The Intern Fellow II position will support the evolving/increasing role of the Backbone Agency including but not limited to supporting the implementation, administration, facilitation of three on-going advisory councils and two working groups as well as the planning and facilitation of two annual Collective Impact Convenings and two annual Knowledge Network Convenings.

Specifics of assignment is dependent upon the department or division assigned to and level of internship. Some example duties include:

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Adult Outpatient Program (AOP). The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. 

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.

• Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.

• Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.

• Performs routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure; completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.

• Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.

• Works with clients to address stressors and barriers to treatment and/or social functioning; identifies and focuses on client strengths and personal resources to effectively engage and treat client.

The City of Redwood City invites applications for Code Enforcement I/II in the Community Development  Department.

THE POSITION

The Code Enforcement Officer I or II is a part of the Building Division in the Community Development Department. This position will be filled at either Officer I or Officer II level, depending on qualifications of the final candidate. Under the direction of the Building Official and with day-to-day supervision by Senior Building Inspector, Code Enforcement Team, this position will work to ensure compliance with the Redwood City Municipal Code, ordinances and zoning regulations; and investigate and document violations. The Code Enforcement Program seeks to promote and maintain a safe and desirable living and work environment. These duties will require coordination with other City staff in Community Development, Public Works, Fire and Police Departments, as well as other agencies, and the public.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to: Work closely with homeowners, businesses and community groups to enhance the quality of neighborhoods through public relations, community building, and code enforcement related educational activities; Maintain effective and cooperative relations with the public; Investigate complaints of violations of City code, zoning ordinances, sign regulations and related laws, ordinances, and codes; Document complaints, inspections, actions, administrative remedies and compliance; Issue courtesy notices, notices of violations, correction notices, and stop work orders, as appropriate; Conduct routine follow-up investigations to ensure compliance with applicable codes, notify concerned parties of action taken. Code Enforcement Officer II will be required to handle the more complex type of Code Enforcement violation such as dealing with Zoning and illegal construction cases.

The Position

The City of South San Francisco seeks customer service-oriented individuals to join the Community Resource Team at the new Library | Parks and Recreation Center. This position is shared between the Library Department and Parks and Recreation Department and works under the direction of the Community Resource Analyst. The Community Resource Clerk will typically be stationed at the lobby desks on the first and second floors of the new Library | Parks and Recreation Center at 901 Civic Campus Way in South San Francisco, however, may temporarily be assigned to other sites, or to represent the departments at special events. The Department

The South San Francisco Public Library is a full-service library committed to delivering quality services to a diverse community.  Library services are available at three sites, including the Main Library (901 Civic Campus Way), the Grand Avenue Library (306 Walnut Avenue) and the Gene Mullin Community Learning Center (520 Tamarack Lane).  Lifelong literacy services are provided by Project Read at the Main Library and the Gene Mullin Community Learning Center (GMCLC).  The City currently has one opening in this classification, for a position providing programs and services at the GMCLC.

The Department

The Human Services Department (HSD) delivers and supports services by forging long-term community partnerships; engaging with and building the capacity of the community to do its own problem-solving; and leveraging financial and volunteer resources.

The Position

The Human Services Specialist (Family Partner) will work as part of a team with counselors and case managers to provide services to parents and their children in Fremont, Newark and Union City. The incumbent will provide peer support and assist families in navigating systems and accessing needed services while promoting independence and advocacy skills through a respectful and non-judgmental manner. The Family Partner uses their own personal lived experience and ensures that the family’s perspective is represented in the provision of all services which will be conducted in the child’s home or school, at Youth and Family Services’ clinic located at the Fremont Family Resource Center or in other community settings.

The City of Menlo Park seeks per diem librarians to contribute to operations activities, projects and programs in the Library and Community Services Department. Per diem librarians may support a combination of the activities below depending on the needs--location of service may vary. Schedules vary based on the needs of the library system. Both Menlo Park Library locations are open on Saturdays and Sundays, and until 8pm three nights per week. Regular availability for one weekend day and one evening will be expected. Selected candidates from this applicant pool may be assigned to work at either library location. Per diem librarian positions are scheduled for less than 20 hours per week and may not exceed 980 hours within a twelve (12) month period.

Job Duties/Functions

• On a continuous basis, sits at a desk and/or stands at counter for long periods of time. Intermittently bends, twists, kneels or squats while shelving books, opening boxes, or moving equipment; twists and reaches office equipment; writes and uses keyboard to communicate and enters/retrieves data; runs errands; lifts or carries weight of up to 50 pounds. • Assists users in the use of computers and/or other electronic devices
• May provide or support story time sessions (children or adult,) or the willingness to learn how to provide the service
• May host/support/coordinate programs (children, teen, adult,); willingness to learn how to provide that service
• Establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
• Provide assistance to and advise patrons of all age groups in the effective use of the Library’s collection, facilities and services; demonstrate the use of library resources, tools, equipment, and electronic reference sources; assist with digital downloads and respond to difficult or technical questions as they relate to the use of electronic resources. The Department:

The Santa Clara City Library is a department of the City of Santa Clara. The Santa Clara City Library operates three facilities, a virtual branch through a website, and a bookmobile. The Library provides a collection of virtual and physical books and resources, services and programs, public internet access, adult literacy and English as Second Language classes for the Santa Clara community. Services and programs are free and open to all.

The Position:

The Library Technology Consultant provides assistance with and instruction to the public on the use of library computers, electronic resources, printing, and audio-visual equipment. The Library Technology Consultant performs complicated tasks involving computer and audio-visual equipment, sensitive patron information, and handling money.

As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.

Under general supervision:

• Performs basic troubleshooting on Library self-checkout machines, scanners, and genealogy equipment.
• Monitors the use of technology equipment to deter theft and/or vandalism.
• Cleans and inspects computer equipment, replaces printer cartridges and printer paper.
• Maintains an inventory of computer supplies and peripheral devices; checks out peripheral devices to patrons; submits requests for replacements when needed.
• Oversees the Internet queuing system and monitors patrons’ time usage.
• Troubleshoots printer problems and Internet access problems involving patron cards.
• Assists patrons with payment for print jobs, photocopies & faxes, handles cash and credit cards.
• Accesses patron library accounts on library software.
• Configures and operates audio-visual equipment in conference rooms for meetings and/or public functions.  
• Configures and operates basic types of computer hardware and peripherals.
• Assists library users in connecting to the internet with mobile devices, WiFi hotspots, and laptop/Chromebook computers.

• Must be at least 18 years of age at time of application.
• This position will be required to work on Sundays. Sunday hours will start January 2025, with 40 hours of training in November/December required for working on Sundays.

• Must be able to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, carrying, and walking up and down stairs.
• Must be able to perform all the essential functions of the job assignment.
