Under the direct supervision of the IT Director, the IT Support Technician II performs more advanced support for the help desk, applications, and technical support for the Peninsula Library System libraries. The position is part of the Peninsula Library System's IT Unit, called the Peninsula Library Automated Network (PLAN).

This position serves as the primary point of contact for the help desk ticketing system, manages Active Directory accounts, provides desktop support, and offers assistance with Office 365 and list-serv operations.

The position serves as the technical lead for library service applications for the member libraries, including RFID software and hardware, automated material handling and sorting systems (AMH), and providing occasional hands-on support for library check-in equipment. They are responsible for coordinating and managing small to large scale projects.

About This Position

The Associate Management Analyst (AMA) will assist in the oversight of DEM program budgets, ensuring financial efficiency and policy compliance, with responsibilities including revenue projections, cash flow analyses, cost containment, grant disbursement, and managing annual and mid-cycle budgets. This role includes preparing budget estimates, evaluating revenue and expenditure budgets, resolving cross-departmental fiscal issues, reviewing budget submittals for accuracy, and assisting with funding challenges.

Initially under close supervision, incumbents with basic professional administrative education and/or experience perform analytical and technical work within an assigned division/department. At this level, the impact of the decisions is moderate, and the work is typically one of interpreting, explaining, or gathering information.

Additionally, the AMA will plan and administer DEM programs, conduct analytical studies, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The selected candidate will track and monitor the adopted budget and prepare periodic budget reviews for submission to County departments, administration, and boards and commissions, such as the Emergency Services Council (ESC).

This crucial position will also involve various tasks to support the County’s financial integrity and operational excellence, significantly contributing to the overall success of San Mateo County.

Qualifications

Education and Experience :

The Accountant I role is an entry-level position focused on technical and professional accounting tasks. This includes hands-on experience in areas such as general ledger account analysis, reviewing financial statements and reports for accuracy and compliance with government accounting regulations, and supporting full-cycle payroll and accounts payable processing. POSITION

To perform office and field work involving the inspection, investigation, and compliance of City codes, ordinances and abatement regulations.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current vacancy in the Community Development Department, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Receives and responds to complaints regarding substandard dwellings or structures, zoning violations, debris, unsanitary conditions, abandoned or inoperative vehicles, overgrown vegetation, and other zoning and municipal code violations. Investigate possible violations; photograph evidence; contact responsible persons and compose letters; issues notices of violation, infraction, and/or misdemeanor citations for non-compliance; perform follow-up investigations to ensure that remedial action has been taken; develop and maintain accurate case files. Reads, interprets and applies state laws, municipal codes and ordinances, and other pertinent regulations. Drive vehicles as required. Work cooperatively with others.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Prepares necessary violation and other notices which outline proper repair and correction methods, time limits, permits and all necessary remedial work required. Contacts property owners; schedules and conducts on-site inspections; interprets codes and regulations and explains inspection procedures and regulations to involved parties. Prepare code violation cases for public hearings and court proceedings; appear at public hearing as necessary for case prosecution. Performs abatement of hazardous items on vacant lots and other premises. Builds and maintains positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees, and the public, using principles of good customer service. May issue and process building permits. Explain and interpret requirements and restrictions. Maintain records and prepare reports of inspections and related code enforcement files. Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Code Compliance Officer I:

Education:  Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.

Experience:  One (1) year of experience performing duties involving code enforcement, including office and field investigation of a variety of code, ordinance and regulation violations.

License or Certificate:  Possession of, or ability to obtain, an Arrest Course 832 Penal Code certificate within one (1) year of hire.  Possession of valid California Driver’s license required upon hire.

Code Compliance Officer II:

Education:  Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade with advanced coursework or specialized training in planning, building inspection, technology or a related field desirable.

Experience:  Two (2) years of experience performing duties involving code enforcement, including office and field investigation of a variety of code, ordinance and regulation violations.

License or Certificate:  Must possess Arrest Course 832 Penal Code certificate and a valid California Driver's License upon hire.

The City of San José is recruiting for a Business Automation and Development Services Supervising Applications Analyst (SAA) in the Business Automation and Development Services Division of the Information Technology Department. The position requires a highly motivated and self-driven individual to lead a team responsible for the City's Permitting and Compliance System (Granicus GovService Amanda platform), Public Web Portal, Records Management System, Electronic Plan Review System (ProjectDox from Avolve), Business Intelligence System, Queue Management System, and Digital Inspection System. The position will oversee new technology implementations, enhancements, integrations, reports, and application upgrades for all Development Services systems. This position requires strong technical hands-on experience and leadership skills, as well as the ability to take initiative and direct others in an ever-changing business and technical environment.

Salary Information:The final candidate's qualifications and experience shall determine the actual salary. In addition to the starting salary, employees in the Supervising Applications Analyst (SAA) classification shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.

The Supervising Applications Analyst (SAA) classification is represented by the City Association of Management Personnel (CAMP) . Education: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field.

Experience: five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional/ level experience. in computer applications, systems, networks, or telecommunications work, of which at least two (2) years include the responsibility for the development, implementation, and maintenance of major communications or computer systems.

Acceptable Substitution

• Additional years of increasingly responsible directly related work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
• Completion of a Master's Degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required two (2) years of experience include the responsibility for the development, implementation, and maintenance of major communications or computer systems.
