MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is completion of 60 college semester units. Previous volunteer or paid experience in a law enforcement support area is desirable.
 
Other requirements include:

• Must be free from any disqualifications for employment, including felony convictions.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law.
• Must be 21 years of age or older at time of appointment.
• Must be fingerprinted for purposes of search of local, state, and national fingerprint files to disclose a criminal record.
• Must be of good moral character, as determined by a thorough background investigation.
• Must be a high school graduate, pass the General Education Development Test or other high school equivalency test approved by the State Department of Education that indicates high school graduation level, pass the California High School Proficiency Examination, or have attained a two-year, four-year, or advanced degree from an accredited college or university.

• Must be willing to work evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts. 
• Must be able to obtain required POST certification and maintain firearms qualification.

If you are unable to attend the City of Berkeley exam dates, you may register and take your exams with The Academy. The Academy charges a non-refundable materials fee of $10 for the written exam, $25 for the practice PAT, and $100 for the official PAT. After taking the exams and receiving passing scores, please attach your scores to your application.

POST will not authorize you to take the exam within 30 calendar days of having taken your last POST written exam. Please refer to the POST website for additional information.

Applicants may waive the written exam only by submitting a California POST Entry Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB) T-score of 48 points or higher. We will accept California POST T-scores from other agencies provided the test was taken no more than one year prior to the date of application. Applicants must submit, on agency letterhead, a letter that states that the individual has taken the California PELLETB written exam. The letter must contain the total T-score and the date of the test. For information on where the PELLETB test is offered, please visit www.theacademy.ca.gov/tests.

Applicants may waive the performance exam only by submitting a California POST physical agility certificate, known as the Work Sample Test Battery (WSTB), with a score of 325 or higher.  The 1.5-mile run is not a requirement.  The test should not be dated no more than one year prior to the date of application.

Tests may consist of any combination of written, oral or other exercises or assessment procedures that test content and may include, but are not necessarily limited to, typing, math, reading, writing and analytical skills; problem solving ability; computer and software proficiency, or any other job-related knowledge, skill, ability or qualification. The City of Berkeley invites applications for the position of Community Health Worker Specialist! In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform paraprofessional duties related to preventive and supportive health care services. The current vacant position is in disease investigation, where you will assist in the control of disease outbreaks by conducting interviews with persons diagnosed with reportable diseases, their contacts, and healthcare providers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined above is:
Equivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) years of paraprofessional experience in a public health or related setting, supplemented by formal or approved in-service training, which has provided additional expertise and demonstrated proficiency in an area of specialization such as training, examination, screening, counseling, or outreach.

Additional health science and community health coursework may be substituted for the experience on a year by year basis, to a maximum of one (1) year.

San Mateo Medical Center is seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Occupational Therapist II.  
Currently, there is one full-time, limited-term vacancy and two Extra-Help, part-time, vacancies. These positions will plan and provide occupational therapy services for acutely ill or rehabilitative patients in an outpatient and/or inpatient setting.
Occupational Therapist II is the experienced journey level class in this series. Incumbents in this class perform the full range of general therapy treatments with a greater degree of independence and proficiency, additionally applying more specialized and advanced therapy treatments. Some individuals may also assist in providing technical advice and training to less experienced staff.
The ideal candidate has graduated from an accredited occupational therapy curriculum and is licensed as an Occupational Therapist by the California Board of Occupational Therapy and registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. They will also possess a Certificate of completion for a course in Basic Life Support as approved by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Additionally, the incumbent will have experience in working with adults, skilled nursing, and acute care.  Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not required. San Mateo Medical Center and its clinics are currently seeking well-qualified candidates for Physical Therapist II to provide outpatient and/or inpatient services at San Mateo Medical Center - Main Campus in San Mateo, CA. These positions would provide outpatient and/or inpatient services physical therapy evaluations and treatments for a variety of orthopedic and neurologic conditions.

Physical Therapists manage patients with a wide range of diagnoses, chronic and acute, and are part of a dynamic treatment team. In addition, Physical Therapists identify patient challenges and develop goals and a care plan with reasonable outcomes for the individual's life/work settings. Daily opportunities are created in this assignment through the variety of illnesses/injuries seen in our patient population.

Physical Therapists work at SMMC as part of a County rehabilitation program, which provides evaluation, education and treatment. The therapeutic program at SMMC is oriented toward inpatients and outpatients with acute and chronic problems while providing therapy to inpatients with a need for long or short-term rehabilitation.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year of work experience providing care in an outpatient setting with an interest in covering inpatient when the census justifies. Ability to work weekends and/or holiday coverage when necessary is also strongly preferred. New or recent graduates with independent outpatient physical therapy work experience or internships are encouraged to apply.

The City of Dixon is accepting applications to fill one (1) full-time position of Transit Driver/Dispatcher and to establish an eligibility list for future use.  

This position drives a Readi-Ride General Public Paratransit Vehicle (GPPV) on a demand responsive curb-to-curb transit system and assist patrons boarding and leaving the bus, especially the elderly, disabled, and school age children. May also assist in collecting information relating to the operation of the system; receive ride requests and organize the vehicle pick-ups and drop-offs; and, will work closely with the drivers and Transit Supervisor to ensure coordinated efforts.
