Under supervision of the Department Director, the Executive Assistant provides responsible, varied, and occasionally confidential office administrative assistance for the department head and associated supervisory and professional staff members.
This is a journey-level class in the Police Records Specialist classification series responsible for maintaining information in specialized departmental databases, preparing and assembling reports, processing payments, and preparing and processing subpoenas, requests for information, and other documents. All activities are performed within specified legal guidelines. Incumbents are expected to work independently and exercise judgment and initiative.
Under general supervision, the Police Records Assistant performs a variety of general administrative, clerical, and customer service duties involved in the maintenance, processing, and distribution of Police records, including serving as a call-taker and assisting in office support duties; and performs related work as required. The Police Records Assistant receives general supervision from a Sergeant and functional direction from the Police Records Specialist; exercises no direct supervision.
